Meatloaf with mashed potatoes, coleslaw and roll.
Liz G.

When I'm looking for some homemade cooking when I'm up North, this is the place I go. This time my husband had the pot roast dinner, which was very good and tender. I had the meatloaf, which hit the spot. I love the coleslaw, and both my husband love the dinner rolls!!! The desserts are also very good. The amount of food we get for the price is perfect.

Serviceable little lunch for us. Were getting tired of clams, lobster and all that stuff. So she had country fried steak and I had meatloaf. Both were on special and came with homemade rolls, mashed spuds and choice of vegetable. Meatloaf was OK and her steak thing was a pre-breaded frozen patty with cream gravy. I'm glad I got gravy on the side rather than on top of my dinner. I could tell it was from a industrial-made base rather than homemade. Yuck! The queen bee decided to get a piece of blueberry pie for a bit later. So later came and went. At least THAT tasted homemade! Not quite sure how this place got 5 stars from so many folks. Well: beggars can't be choosers up in this area. I do have to say the place is clean. Waitress friendly and the decor is simple but quite nice and simple. A couple of kick-plates fell off the radiators and need replacing. Fresh coat of paint on there at least. Hunter green trim and lovely off-white walls and well-kept wainscoting. Now if only they could do that well with their meatloaf. Final oddball note. Lady manager asked if our waitress wanted any half shifts next week; no. 11-7 was fine for her. So awhile later when it came time to cash out, our girl just winced and looked away. It seemed readily apparent that she was afraid of manager lady. She told mgr lady that she didn't wanna mess with what she was doing in her system. Next time we are sticking with Grammy's. Food better and they all get along up there.

Brownie Sundae, enough for two.

The restaurant was great. The rooms, not. Old, noisy, uncomfortable. I should have read the real reviews.

Really good homemade food. Not far off the 95 and worth the stop. We had lobster bisque and clam chowder both really good.

What a great place for a good meal at a reasonable price! Walter's Table is a local family…read morerestaurant in Downtown Woodstock which serves up fresh and homemade food for breakfast (anytime), lunch, and dinner daily. The casual dining room is very clean with wood floors, table and padded booth seating (along the walls), and high wood chair seating up at the counter. The food offerings here sound appetizing. For breakfast, they offer egg dishes, omelettes (3 egg), pancakes, French toast, and breakfast sides. For lunch, they offer appetizers, soups, seafood chowder, sandwiches, burgers, pitas & wraps, pasta, pork chops, souvlaki, Salisbury steak, fish & chips, chicken tenders, bangers & mash, liver & onions, and more. Homemade pies and puddings offered for dessert. They offer daily specials posted on the big board. Pepsi products and bottled beer served here. The prices (before HST) here seem reasonable, breakfast entrees priced under $10, lunch sandwich platters $8.95-$11.95, and complete dinners with dessert $8-$15. I stopped in at Walter's Table for lunch and I was told I could sit anywhere I'd like. I sat at a soft booth seat along the wall and a waitress arrived with a menu 2 minutes later. The place was moderately busy on a Sunday afternoon. For lunch, I ordered the Pork Schnitzel Dinner ($12) served with 2 scoops of mashed potatoes (or fries), vegetable, soup (or salad), and rice pudding. The cup of Harvest Soup was served very hot with a mix of cabbage, celery, carrots, & ham in a light broth. The main entrée had a big hand breaded pork cutlet, which the meat was very tender coated in a homemade crispy breading topped with a red & green peppers, sliced mushrooms in a creamy gravy, 2 scoops of chunky mashed potatoes (butter on the side) and steamed vegetables (carrots, green beans, wax beans). For dessert, the Rice Pudding was served chilled topped with whipped cream & cinnamon, sweet and refreshing. Overall, the food I had here was very good and the portion of food was generous. The service was pretty laid back here as I received my food in staged order, soup first, then entrée 20 minutes later, followed by dessert promptly after I finished the entrée. The check ($13.56 total) was settled at the table, cash or credit (with portable machine) by the server. In all, I would definitely recommend Walter's Table for good meal for those traveling through Woodstock. (4.5/5.0)

Honestly, we couldn't believe the google reviews on it were so high until we tried it. Mom's friends who travel through here all the time recommended it to us. The website gave us an accurate current menu with options we both wanted, and Wah-lah!!! It proved to be a hit. Mom had the clam chowder and loved how packed it was with potatoes, veggies, and clams, with excellent flavor and a HUGE dinner roll - Yummmmoooo! I had liver and onions... I know, most of you might gross out... but think of Pâté! Or think of Foie Gras! And you will be pleasantly surprised at how this diner in the middle of know where just nails it! And then I upgraded my side to onion rings- batter was not too thick so you could still enjoy the onion. And batter had great flavor too. The waitress/service was kind, friendly Canadian, as I've grown to love and expect on my travels here. But still, 5 stars for friendly service! The prices were reasonable and the dessert list was extensive! Thank you Murray's!!! Xoxo - weary travelers

First, the service was amazing. Our waiter was so nice, so attentive, and extremely helpful in terms of describing the foods and helping us choose beers. A lot of their draft beers are from the brewery they have on the property (Knife Edge Brewing). My friend and I liked their Blond Ale and their Moon Shadow Session IPA. The IPA was slightly citrusy, crisp, cold, and refreshing. Exactly how you would want a beer. For the food, we had the crab cake appetizer, the caesar salad, and the seafood pappardelle (pasta). Everything was absolutely delicious. The crab cakes were wonderful. Flavorful but not grossly fishy, soft, and the sauce accompaniment was great. My friend and I split the caesar salad and the pasta, so the portions you see of those in my pictures are HALF of what they actually are. The caesar was solid -- a nice sauce and clean, fresh romaine. The croutons seemed homemade and were really good. The pasta had three types of seafood -- shrimp, scallops, and Maine lobster. All delicious and with a tasty garlic lemon cream sauce . It was a good amount of seafood as well. I highly recommend this place. It's a little off the beaten path but well worth it!! As a plus, we spotted a wild fox while driving through the property to the restaurant!
