Gave one star only because you can't give a 0! Dropped mower off for repair on Saturday morning, , May 3rd. Was told it should be done within a week. Called on Friday morning, May 9th at 8:00 am and the man on the phone said he'd have to take my number and call me back. Wasn't called back by 11:00. so I called again. Lady I spoke with took my name and told me my mower was next in line to be worked on. So I asked if that meant it would be done that day. She said maybe not because they go to lunch between 12 and 1 and it would probably be done early the next week. That made no sense if I were the next in line. Does it take multiple days to address one mower repair??? Maybe they take terribly long lunches? So I called Tuesday morning, May 13th to see if the mower was done. Was told I was third in line and it would be done later that day or Wednesday. So apparently I'd dropped 2 positions in the queue. No call from them either of those days telling me it was done. Called them this morning, May 15th to see if I could pick uo my mower. Was told it wasn't done yet so I told him to pull it out and I'd just pick it up anyway. Went down to pick it up and the man at the counter went to the back room, came back and told me mine was next in line and could be done this afternoon if I'd just leave it. Told him I was told I was next in line last Friday and I took my mower. THEY DIDN'T EVEN OFFER TO HELP LOAD MY MOWER!!!! If I could give this place zero stars, I would. This shop has taken advantage of my elderly parents repeatedly, and it's both infuriating and heartbreaking. Their mower has been in and out of this place multiple times, each time with vague explanations and increasingly steep repair costs. Most recently, they had it for over a month--with zero communication and no intention of returning it until a neighbor intervened and demanded they get it back. When they finally did, my parents were out over $800, and the mower worked for less than half a day before it sparked, caught fire in the dry leaves, and caused my elderly father to fall trying to put it out. Let that sink in. They've shown no accountability, no urgency, and absolutely no respect for their customers--especially vulnerable ones. They preyed on two kind people who just wanted their mower fixed and safe to use. This isn't just bad business. It's irresponsible, exploitative, and dangerous. I wouldn't trust them to fix a bicycle, let alone a piece of equipment that can literally catch fire if not properly repaired. I took a riding lawnmower in to be repaired last fall. It is now been around seven months and they still have not repaired it. They stated that it was because of the Covid and they couldn't get parts. Three months ago I called and they said they finally got the parts and it would work on it. I still have not got it repaired. Horrible, horrible customer service. I do not normally write reviews, but this is gonna be my first. Took my riding lawnmower in to get repaired because it was making a loud noise when the mower turned on. They had it for a month, I called every week asking the status and got the same answer. When they finally said they got it repaired, I brought it home , turned it on and it makes an even louder noise and it tore up my concrete. What is worse, when I brought it back for them to look at. The technician said," oh they just changed a squeaky bearing" and he did not know that the mower had an issue. He could care less that there was a miscommunication, that it took more than a month to repair, and it didn't even fix the problem but actually made it worse. His lack of concern that there was a miscommunication or issue was not even fixed was appalling. worst customer service I've ever experienced anywhere. Do not waste your money or your time going to this business. I'm out $100 and a I still broken on Riding lawnmower. read more

My neighbor wanted me to help him take his Toro two stage to get repaired. They told him two days. 3 weeks later he called them and they said it was tore apart and parts were not available. We found three web sites with the gearbox for his model? We go down to pick it up ( they had to put it back together) not one apology, not one explanation! Get it home and there is no evidence they put a wrench on it, called a witness mark. I wouldn't take a tricycle to these clowns. He is contacting Toro and let the know how crappy they treated him. My lawn mower took a crap on me, it was only 2 years old (Briggs and straton), I had a couple people tell me to take it here and that they were really good. I took it in a month ago and I still have not got it back from them not one phone call, nothing so I've stopped in a few times and called and every time they say their going to have someone look at it. really? How long does it take should I just go get a new lawn mower? I've had to barrow Janessa's parents mower 5 times now this is ridiculous! This shop did manage to repair my mower and the staff was pleasant, so they've got that going for them. What they don't have is any reliable timeline for repairs. I called near the beginning of July with a broken push mower. They told me it was their busy season and it would be 3-4 weeks. I said that was fine and arranged to have them pick up my mower. I later discovered that there was a $50 pick up and drop off fee which was not told to me at any point. About four weeks after they picked up my mower I called to ask if it was ready. They told me it would be 3-4 weeks. I reminded them that they had given me that timeline a month ago. They didn't seem bothered by that fact. It took me going in, ready to somehow pack my mower into my Civic, and find another repair shop, for them to go in the back and actually have someone look at it. After that it was only a three day repair. Also, they display a large "This store is not politically correct" sign in their main lobby. Had I known that I would have found another shop to begin with. Overall I was incredibly dissatisfied with my experience. I would recommend looking elsewhere for your lawn equipment repair needs. read more

They had my mower for over a month, charged over $200 for repairs and it has never started on the first second or even 10th pull. I called and without even asking any questions a young man told me that it started on the first pull when I picked it up, I found his response curious since nobody started it when I picked it up. Walked into the shop with an old carburetor to my 2006ish toro lawn mower. Told the worker that I needed a replacement for this part. He looked it up and when he told me how much a whole new carburetor was, I was a bit sticker shocked, plus he said they didn't have any in stock. The guy then told me, "just rebuild it". To which I replied, "would, but don't know how." He looked up the parts, went to the back, told me, "these are only about $8, and this is what you do...." after he just told me what needed done, I paid for it and went home a little unsure of everything I just 'learned'. After an hour or so of tinkering around with it, I got er all our back together. Set the mower down, gave it one pull and it started right up!!! I got the mower used and for the last three years I pulled on the string 15 times before I can get it to go. But now, after spending a couple hours in the garage acting like I'm a mechanic, $8, and the guys help at this store, my mower start first pull every pull!! Next mower/snow blower/edger, or what ever else I need along those lines...it will be coming from this shop! Thank you so much for the help tonight! read more

I dropped off my Cub Cadet and they said it would take 2 weeks. I called 2 weeks later for an update and they said it was first on the doc for the next day. I then called every other day for the next 7-8 days and got the same answer. I then called last night at closing time, they said it was going to be another 2-3 days so I told them don't worry about it, id be in the next morning and pick it up. I then went in and they tried charging me $42 for a diagnostic fee, but they would not tell me what was wrong with it, and they told me the night before they hadn't looked at it. They told me to never come back. Terrible experience, and Sled Shed has no worry, neither myself or any of my friends will be taking our stuff to them in the future. read more

Took a chainsaw in that my father in law gave me. Chainsaw needed chain sharpened and a tune up as it had been sitting for a couple of years. I figured $50-$60 bucks. $250 later I got my chainsaw back. They were very quick, but this was ridiculous for a tune up on a chainsaw. If they had to put that much money in to it they should have called to get permission first. When I said something about the price they said a simmilar saw would cost $600 so I was getting a deal. Not much of a deal when I could have bought a brand new saw that was sitting in their show room for $179 that would have met my needs just fine. read more

Sent my trimmer in to get serviced in Sept 18. Just got it back yesterday. Wanted a new one, asked if they took trade ins. After waiting 20minutes for them to locate my trimmer, I'd viewed many used ones on the floor. Sales guy said no, they don't and walked away. Never asked if I was interested in purchasing anything, never said a word about it taking 7 and a half months to do general service to a like new trimmer. read more

I took my rider lawn mower in to be fixed on May 30th. And I still don't have it back , and its July 20tth. They told me when I dropped it off it would be 2 weeks. It needed a spindle, belt and blades. Simple 2 of parts. I have called them several times to find5 out what the hold up is? Witch they said" they would check ,and get back to me". Did they ? Once they called me back 4 days later. I even stopped in 3 times. I asked if they would give me a discount due to long delay. Their reply was no. I don't know I will get it fixed they tell me their waiting for the blades to come in that they ordered now. That's the first real excuse they gave me. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE! Had a riding mower. The cable that engages the mower blades frayed and broke and I couldn't engage the blades thus couldn't mow. I called and explained the problem. They said $30 for the part and 15-30 minutes for labor. I didn't have a trailer at the time and I asked what pickup and return would cost and they said $40. Estimate of $85 to $105 total, which I was OK with. I scheduled the pickup time and they didn't show up until a day later. I waited a week and heard nothing so I called. They said they were waiting on the part. I waited three more days and heard nothing again so I called again. They said it would be another four days because "the repair tech was out". They actually got it done in the four days and called me. They said it would be $222.96. I said I was given an estimate of $105 max. I happened to be speaking to the owner and he said they guy who gave me the estimate was new and he didn't know there would be more labor involved. He said it was two hours labor and they had to fix "something else" besides the cable to get it working. (More on that later.) I said that no one contacted me to let me know it would be more and to make sure I was OK with the extra cost. He just said again that the estimate I was given was wrong. I said that their person shouldn't be allowed to give estimates until he's been there longer, that the low estimate was not my fault, and, again, that no one contacted me about the higher cost. He was rude and had a bad attitude and would not lower the total at all. I had to pay the increased total to get my mower back. I paid and asked when they would be returning my mower. They said "tomorrow" but, again, it was not until the next day. The first time I used my mower after it was returned I accidentally started to back up with the blades still engaged and they mower did not shut off like it should. I called and asked why that SAFETY feature wasn't working and they said the repair tech had to disable that to get the cable installed. That was the "something else" that had to be *fixed* besides the cable to get things working. If you read other reviews you'll notice common things: repairs taking much too long to be completed, lack of communication, and charging ridiculous prices. PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE! Dropped off my mower and was told 2 weeks. Seems a bit long for a simple repair that I had already diagnosed. Called back after 16 days and was told they'd call me later that day. The next day called back to see what the deal was. Got told they'd have to call me back. Just before closing they did call and give me a report. That was on Friday and I was told Monday it would be ready. Called Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and now again on Friday and got the same bullshit of just waiting on parts. "Confirmed they will be here today" so now we are looking for a Saturday return date. Only 4 weeks in the shop for a stripped out drive wheel gear and other truly minor parts. Find another place if you need repair. You won't get your shit back in a timely manner from these tools. read more

I've taken lawn mowers for service numerous times and always gotten good service. They get busy at peak season. Today we went in with our mower. They were obviously busy. The guy listened to our issue, looked at the mower and realized there was a simple fix. He fixed it on the spot and didn't charge us. read more

Wish I had checked these reviews before taking my mower here. It would not start - acted like it was getting no spark. It acually was getting spark but apparently not enough. I had gone through the whole thing myself, then had our maintenance guy at work look at it. We agreed the problem was in the coil. Took it here, and that's what the guy here figured too. I happened to have it with me when I went here so decided to leave it here and let them do it. Just called to see if it was done, thinking if it was not I can just buy the coil and change it myself. He said it is done, but they didn't change the coil - he said something about the exhaust, cleaning the crankcase, and some gaskets and it's ready to go - for $148. I asked if it starts, and the guy said "I can only assume so." Told him I thought they were just changing the coil and should have called me if they found anything else. He apologized, but I'm sure I won't get my mower back until he has $148 of my money. read more
