When buying, we viewed off-market houses and were connected to developers. When selling, Barak connected us with his favorite contractor to fix up the place before we listed. Barak's connections clearly help him to stay current on the state of the market. - We were impressed by Barak's ability to work well with other realtors. When buying, Barak stays in contact with the sellers' agents to understand timing and competitiveness of the house. For the house we purchased, Barak was able to identify a key offer term that interested the sellers but that we could not find in any listing platform, and we were able to include that term in our offer to maximize competitiveness. My wife and I found Barak by randomly calling an agent listed on Zillow on a property we were looking at. Barak helped us purchase our first home. As new homebuyers, there is a lot of information that is new and unfamiliar when starting to look for houses. Barak did a nice job of providing details and information when we weren't sure about certain things. We were looking for a fixer upper, and that we did! These days, I think realtors may not play as much of an important role in finding properties, as third party companies such as zillow or homesnap are becoming pretty accurate, but where Barak was a great asset, was in his responsiveness, and knowledge of the area we were looking to buy in. Barak always answered when I called or texted, which was really important in a market as hot as DC. He was very quick to contact agent and find out more information on properties we were interested in. Barak was very happy to take us out to see properties, and showed us extra properties that we may not have been looking for, but just so we would know the market well and know what was out there. The house we purchased had difficult owners (not responsive, slow, and not very accomodating), and their agent was not much better.
