I'm a Realtor with Compass. I've worked with many settlement companies and KVS is hands down the best. I've been using them whenever possible for about 3.5 years. While I have always been impressed by them I was prompted to write this review because they recently came though big for me with some much needed legal advise. Specifically thank you Marty S., Laura F., & Kathleen P. If there are no issues with your transaction then it probably doesn't matter much which Title company you choose, but if something goes sideways it's about the most important transaction-related decision you make. KVS is not the cheapest but they are priced fairly for their commitment to absolute quality. You don't want the cheapest. I wouldn't buy brakes for my vehicle from Tamu, same idea. KVS, 100% the worst experience dealing with an escrow company. They held the earnest money escrow deposit on a canceled home sale for over 2 years. They refused to follow court ordered divorce instructions which forced me to go back to court and relive my painful divorce only to have the judge confirm the original judgment. They bullied me and let my ex husband dictate and make up terms. They held funds for another 2 weeks after the 2nd court ruling and then made up fake procedures and rules in regards to the disbursement of funds. read more

Had a great experience with KVS Title when purchasing my first home. They kept everything on track and were extremely pleasant to work with. My settlement processor, Catherine, was very helpful and professional. Dan was great via email and even better in person at closing when explaining the many signatures required on the stacks of paperwork, and making the process as efficient as possible. Only thing that could have improved my experience is if they could've figured out that half of the forty keys the sellers dumped into a ziplock bag for settlement didn't actually belong to active door locks at the condo. Okay, I am not sure how this place gets any business other than maybe paying realtors off to refer them. They have no idea how to deal with customers and are very narrow minded. I had to actually ask for "law" why I couldn't close in another city. The Lady Krystal D, was adamant that we had to be present! This is the worst title company I have ever dealt with. I even so much as to called the office to speak to her and she never answered my call there or her cell. If your realtor picks this company tell them NO!!!! You're the customer! They aren't doing you any favors! You're paying them! Not the other way around! Customer Service sucks and Krystal needs training in people skills! Terrible all around!!! They should also learn the laws and speak to lenders before imposing what they assume to believe is true! Do not use them! I'm telling you! Go to a title company with 5 stars or good reviews all the way around! read more

Avoid KVS Title. At closing, I was told I would be eligible for a 5 year tax abatement in DC. The closing attorney was quite excited about it. Several months later, after planning accordingly, I emailed my representative about it who coldly told me I was not eligible. I did receive an apology but other than this KVS Title did nothing to remedy the situation. My representative has generally been cold each time I've needed assistance, as if it is such a chore to help me after giving them thousands of dollars at closing. They also allowed the seller of my property to get away with some shady practices despite the fact that I was a first time home buyer. Ultimately my decision to purchase the property but I never felt cared for. On top of all of this, the seller stills owes me almost $1,000 in condo fees from closing 10 months ago. Would I even consider asking KVS Title to assist in remedying the situation? Of course not, they already went through the motions, got their money, and will do the bare minimum to help me if I ever need anything moving forward (I guess even more so after this review!) Will be avoiding like the plague for future real estate needs. read more
