Every member of our family has experienced some type of service from Anani. From our youngest's first haircut to my elderly father's first massage, we have had wonderful experiences and fabulous service. My curly hair is handled with expertise, and my daughters routinely get cuts that keep their hair healthy and pretty. I've also been impressed with the knowledge of the front desk staff. I stopped in one day for a recommendation on sunscreen, having been newly treated for a potential skin cancer issue, and the receptionist pointed out several products and discussed the pros and cons of each. This was so very helpful.

I have been coming for a massage monthly for some time now. Over two years of monthly membership. I…read morealways look forward to my massages. I am doing another update considering what recently happened. A month ago I had an appointment. I got a call from Spavia that my masseuse was not going to be able to make the appointment. We were able to set up a quick appointment for that weekend. That day came around and I got a call a couple hours before the appointment. The new masseuse had an emergency was wasn't going to be able to make it. This wasn't the norm and they were happy to offer additional changes to try and make up for the situation. It was really nice for them to offer the options that they did. They say this doesn't happen often and felt bad. Here is the normal massage breakdown. Warmed massage tables call my name on a cold Iowa evening. Darkened hallways start to set the mood. Electric candles line the floor to help guide you to where you need to be. Once you are in the locker room you can change into your robe and slippers. This is not required with every service they offer. You have your own locker which you set the lock. They have 2 little curtained off changing rooms. The wall hooks have broken over time, but if I can I just use the roomy bathroom to change. Once you have all your personal items locked away you can step into the lounging area. 4-5 different places to sit. Electric fireplace on the wall. Some books, gentle music, little water fountain. All the things to help you relax. They have warming neck wraps and hot water for tea. If you are early enough for your appointment, then take advantage and chill. When your time comes you get called back. My personal preference is one individual for body massages. I have to book months in advance to make sure I am getting him. I dont want to share, but its Eddy. He is amazing. He listens to me and remembers my preferences. After heavenly treatment you are escorted back to the lounge. You can hang out and decompress or you can head out. As of my last visit in Sept '24 they just updated the furniture in there. It is not really comfy as before. I have tried another service here, but prefer my monthly membership booking a massage each time. Read less

The lack of massage during a body treatment is sorely disappointing. The pressure was too light to…read morerelieve any stress, except for the scalp massage that was nice. The gloves she wore irritated my skin. Her hands shook, like she was scared to touch me. They obviously have an esthetician doing body work, instead of a massage therapist. She never even touched my lower back or glutes and she accidentally poked my vagina twice during draping. The company called to say they would like to make it up to me, but when I called back the manager was out so I left a message and she never called back. Avoid this place.

I won't name who it was that did my service, she was a very nice person, just not a person you'd want doing your Brazilian. I felt like communication was something I had to reiterate and at one point I looked down and saw the side that was "finished" flared up and bruised along with fine hairs that remained despite the trauma. That is actually the word I would use to describe my experience, traumatizing.

I had called ahead and made myself an appointment, but they definitely take walk ins. It was a Friday morning and they were already busy with a wedding party. Those girls seemed to be enjoying themselves and the services they were receiving, so it made for a lively morning. I was pleased to see how clean it was and that they lined the pedicure bowls with a plastic liner. I opted for the deluxe pedicure ($35) that included a hot stone massage, a clay mask for my legs and I believe a paraffin dip as well? The massage chair was perfect, in fact, that whole morning and experience was. The woman that did my toes was very pleasant and happy to chat with me. I brought a book to read, but didn't want to be rude as she was friendly to speak with. I will definitely be going here again. Thanks fellow Yelpers for pointing me in this direction!

She asked for a trim -- a simple trim, CLEARLY communicated -- and instead walked out with FOUR INCHES hacked off. FOUR. That's not a trim; that's butchery. What part of "just the ends, please" was hard to understand? Apparently, basic listening and comprehension are not part of the training here. The stylist clearly decided to do whatever the hell they wanted, completely ignoring what was asked. My daughter is devastated, and frankly, so am I. Her hair took years to grow and in 30 careless minutes, this place undid it. Do they hand out scissors to anyone who walks in off the street? Because that's what it feels like -- amateur hour with no accountability. We will never be back, and I'll make sure everyone I know hears about this. If you value your hair -- or your sanity -- avoid Shear Style like the plague.
