Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in the BBL treatment through Urban Effects. I've had BBL treatments before, and have always seen amazing results. I saw no results whatsoever with the treatment through Urban Effects. I believe that is because they didn't take the time to treat the problem areas that concern me. I have broken capillaries on my nose area. Other spas have been able to remove them completely so that they fully disappear. I made mention about this concern in the numerous forms that I filled out, during the skin analysis with the nurse, and again during the treatment. I purchased the BBL for the entire face hoping that these problem areas would receive attention. They did not. It was a quick scan of the face with not extra detail to the areas that needed it. So I paid a lot of money and walked away without results. Also, the staff is nice enough; however, I don't feel they really listened to my concerns. They made it known to me that they were the first in the DM area to do BBL. They may be the first, but they are not the best. It's too expensive of a procedure to walk away without results. Also, while I do realize it is a med spa, there are certain adjustments that could be made to make the customer feel special such as giving them a blanket and a pillow, and dim the lights. Sometimes it's the little things. It was suggested to go back and get the hydrafacial. A week later I went back to do that. I have to say I was disappointed that the receptionist did this procedure. I looked her credentials up on Urban Effects website and found nothing stating that she's a certified aesthetician or has had any formal training to do hydrafacials. I think I deserved to have an aesthetician perform the procedure or someone triained in hydrafacials, especially given that the cost is $100. I was caught off guard and didn't know what to expect since I had never received a hydrafacial before. I have, however, received glycolic peels before (which is included in the hydrafacial) and know that there should be a tingling sensation that you feel during the peel which I did not experience. Also, in my experience receiving spa treatments, I like to spend the rest of the day relaxing and not touch my face. I like to give my skin the rest of the day free to breathe. I wish they wouldn't have applied tinted moisturizer to my skin, but rather a moisturizer with an spf. The reason is that with the tint it made me have to cleanse my face to remove it which I prefer not to have to do on days where I have extensive treatments. Perhaps, in the future you could ask your customers what they would like, especially new customers that you hardly know. I guarantee not all of them will want the tinted spf. Those were my issues with my experiences at Urban Effects. I'm posting this review with the hope of helping anyone who is seeking med spa treatments. read more
