This was not just a casual appointment. I specifically scheduled it for the day before surgery because my doctor required me to have the waxing done beforehand. On top of that, it's a holiday weekend, and I drove an HOUR in holiday traffic to get here--only to arrive and find that no one showed up for my confirmed appointment. No phone call. No text. No cancellation. Nothing. If a business allows customers to book appointments online and then sends multiple confirmations, the customer should reasonably expect someone to actually be there. Now I've wasted two hours of driving, have surgery tomorrow, and am left scrambling at the last minute to find someone else who can accommodate me on a holiday weekend. Completely unacceptable and incredibly unprofessional. I would not recommend relying on this business for anything time-sensitive or important.

Honestly my last experience threading was in 2005 and it hurt so bad left me in so much nerve pain I've been scared and literally scarred before so I really just came for a wax. I HAD already had my brows done a few days prior so I actually made an appt for lips and forearms. When I arrived I was surprised to find a super clean, simple and comfortable space with Jen who whisked me into the first chair right away. She immediately started on my brows with the thread - and I was just about to stop her when I realized (wow this doesn't even hurt a tiny bit !) barely could feel a pinch. So I let her keep going. - she waxed my lip then finished with thread - also not at all painful to my surprise. And with quick dexterity she grabbed a few lose hairs on my face and around my hairline with the thread and thoroughly waxed my forearms. I mean it must have been 15 mins total for the whole visit and I was SMOOTH! with my thick, dark , coarse hair I don't think I'd been that smooth EVER. Not to trash the place that did my brows prior but they were RAZOR sharp and shaped with such precision... Jen may have just made me a convert to thread! One billion percent will be back.

The ability to go "heavier" or darker in the brow and still achieve a natural, groomed appearance is hard. The tech listened to me and did not go overly thin and we were able to come out looking very natural and not bad guy looking at all. I would have given this 4 stars if I had left feeling extra fabulous or some emotional experience. It might have been my fault for putting emphasis on looking natural and hoping to come out looking a little more "done" up. I called the salon/spa as soon as we hung up with his sister. The person that answered the phone said it was no issue and she was very kind. Unfortunately, later that evening we received an email stating we were no-shows and we were then charged $300 on our credit card. I called to speak to the owner on Monday. Instead of being, compassionate and kind she lectured me on how many visits I had to cancel in the past year. She agreed to the refund but inferred that I am not welcome back and also would not let-up on the cancellation history. We've been frequent guests at BVI over the years and even held our daughter's wedding shower there in 2024. It's disappointing that an experience at Luxe has now colored how I feel about the property as a whole, given how loyal we've been. Of the appointments I did need cancel for medical reasons (13 over the course of a year), my shortest notice was 9 days and longest was 108, averaging about 7 weeks. That's real time to fill those slots, not someone trying to hurt the business. Their cancellation policy states no less than 24 hours notice is required. I did well over that each time. I typically would book months in advance because securing the people I want and the dates/times I want is not easy if I wait too close to the dates/times I need. This causes me to have to adjust the appointments at times due to medical issues I was having at that time. I explained this to the owner, but she still was very aggressive and heartless.

She knows what magic to do with your eyebrows without you saying a word and you look in the mirror at the end completely impressed with her work. Eyebrows are only $12, which is a pretty reasonable price around here. And as a grand opening special offer, if you get 5 services, the 6th eyebrow service is free! I love deals like this, and since they do such a great job here, I know I will be frequenting this place. The shop itself is very simple, very clean. Walk-ins are welcome all the time. She is very fast at threading eyebrows. There were two people before me when I showed up, and I was in the seat within 10 minutes. And, I was out in under 5 minutes.
