As soon as I walked in there was a friendly woman that greeted me with a great big smile! There were a bunch of staff there ready and willing to help. Everyone was so friendly! This is my first time buying ski equipment. In the past, I always rented. The staff helped me answer all my questions without me feeling silly! I walked out of the shop with ski pants, a beanie, poles, a boot bag , ski bag and my skis tuned for only 480! I went to another ski shop weeks ago and I bought my boots there it was 485! Love shopping at local small businesses, especially ones with such knowledgable and friendly staff. I've bought skis and my BF a snowboard. Staff is helpful in distinguishing between brands and models. And there are no sales people that pressure you into a decision. If something isnt working for you after a purchase, they tell you to bring it back in and want to work to help you have the best eperience possible on the slopes. Love the tent sale at the beginning of the season to get good deals on year old, but still new merchandise. Definitely good deals and merchandise to be found. If you join the mailing list, you can get coupons in email and snail mail. Want to purchase lift tickets? They can help with that on site too. I don't intend to buy my snow sports equipment anywhere else. There are two big dogs that wander the store. They're harmless and loveable. read more

This is the only ski shop in Northern RI I personally don't buy anything from the place. Not cause they're bad or poor customer service. I just prefer to buy my equipment online. I have had my snowboard sharpen and tuned here before with no problems at all. The price was very reasonable and service was fast. I always do their bus trips up north and honestly you can't beat it. It's usually around 80 bucks for a bus ride there and back plus your lift tickets. I mean c'mon you can't beat that and they go to all the great mountains around here. I have been renting skis for the past three years. The staff has always been nice and pleasant to deal with.

My brother has never used Yelp but liked this place so much he asked me to review it. His family has used this business for about four years and they keep getting better. Attention to detail and customer service are what he likes most about them. My nephew is a snowboarder so maintenance is ongoing for each season. This last checkup they found a small problem and fixed it on the spot. When he asked how much they told him no charge and thanked him for being a good customer. I cannot say enough good things about The Ski Shop Plus. They are my go-to shop. I brought a buddy's several years old Burton snowboard in that was chewed and beaten up to get a full tune up and give this place a shot for the first time as I've heard good things about it from other fellow riders in the area. I was not disappointed what so ever! Tom took care of the board like it was his own! When the board was done, it looked like a brand new board. I brought my buddy's board in to get a tune up for a birthday present (friend never knew) and returned it to his home. He almost didn't recognize the board because it looked so new and was done so well! Because of that, I brought my board in to get a full tune up as well as another friend's board for the Free Wax Wednesdays they have on Wednesdays in January and February (So worth it)! Tom has helped me as well as my friends out a bunch and has shared a lot of great information that has help all of us get a better understanding of products and services. I will continue to be a loyal customer to this place! Tom is very knowledgeable and knows how to tune skis and snowboards better than ever! The owners are very welcoming and the staff are very knowledgeable and will help you with any and all of your questions and needs for snowboarding or skiing. They also have a cool deal where you can chose a trip and take a bus there and back and get a lift ticket for $69 through BRS Transportation. That deal alone is so worth it to get there and back and a lift ticket for that price; you cannot beat it! You can also enter a weekly give away for a free trip through them as well if you visit in store. I was also given a discount code for lift tickets online on my first purchase there that I have used a bunch. They also have great prices on clothing and any other riding accessories. The last time I went, I was instantly greeted by a friendly woman who directed me straight to the items that I needed. She was helpful, but not pushy. Not only did I find everything that I needed, I was delighted to find them for quite a bit less than I might have paid elsewhere. Had a horrible experience. Was my first time renting skis there and the last. In March of 2016 the owner who fitted me insisted I get boots that I told him were too small. He insisted those style boots are supposed to be tight but when I ski, they will be fine. When skiing my toes were cramped and hurt so bad, I had to stop skiing at 2:00. Both big toes were black and blue. When I went to return the skis, I expected at least a partial refund but instead they told me it was my fault for getting boots too small and to leave. Both toe nails have since fallen off and 6 months later still have not grown back. Never again!!! read more
