Very Disappointing. Here for 3 days, the start of May 2026. Upon arrival, the trash from the prior guest stayed in front of our cabin for the first day. No shampoo in the dispenser, only 1 partial roll of TP. The clerk at the counter did provide 1 extra roll of TP and 2 small travel size shampoos but no, "I'm sorry for your inconvenience". I felt like I was putting her out. The cabin was pretty on the outside and had a nice view of the pond but the inside was lacking. It felt and looked more like we were at a Motel 6 on the inside. No dresser in the bedroom, no stand for the suitcase, only a couple of hangers, the pullout mattress was too thin to use, no dished or silverware (like they say are there), the sliding glass door had a 1/2" gap at the bottom when closed. I took the grandkids to rent the paddle boats only to find them filled with water and supper dirt, that was a no go. (You seriously charge to use 2 paddle boats?). The pool had not yet opened for the season. The Escape Room is not in operation at all. An email they sent offered a late check out option if we replied to their email offer only to receive no reply. At $225 per night, the accommodations, the service and the hype from their web presence left a bad impression. On a positive note - the restaurant, Q & Brew was excellent! read more

Called to cancel our reservation with less than 14 days before arrival and was told there is a $20 cancellation fee on top of paying the full price of the room we are not using. I asked how that logically makes any sense and the response was that it is the policy. Their terms and conditions state there would be no refund, which I understand (although 14 days is a very antiquated timeline) but charging an extra $20 because we were courteous enough to call and let them know we are not coming so they could possibly still rent the room is ridiculous. Forced to rebook and be a no show so as not to pay the additional fee for the terrible customer service. Will never look at staying here again as their main goal appears to be taking my advantage of their customers. read more

Everything went so well we ate here two nights !! Our server was a vivacious you woman named Harley and she was not only totally competent but friendly and fun to visit with. She truly made us feel welcome! The food was terrific and the price point great as well! The facility is impressive in its atmosphere and cleanliness! Looks are deceiving, this place was great. They bring you a small bowl of pinto beans and muffin cornbread that are doused in a sweet syrup. I could of been happy just eating that.service was fast and food was delicious too We had the rancher burger and Q & Brew burger! I'll stop in again when headed they way. read more

Extremely disappointed with two things. Zero Wi-Fi and no TV. I rented the big house for a family reunion. After trying to get the TV to come on I was told the resort no longer had dish network. I also was given a WiFi password. Not a strong enough connection for internet. At $600 plus a night, I expect internet and TV. Also, the meeting room is not good due to lack of a sink. Only sinks are in the bathroom. read more

Had a great time camping with 63 Getaway Gals. The people here are so nice! Very clean RV site. The dog park is kinda small. Beautiful pond to fish in. An escape room but I heard it's $20 to play? They had an ice cream social, bingo, Pictionary, and other activities. But few showed up to do them. read more

Stayed there this past weekend in our RV. First time there. Ate at the Q Brew Restaurant. It was outstanding! Had the ribs which were the best ribs I have ever had. Okra and mac and cheese was yummy! Did the Escape Room. First time doing this. It was very well done and laid out! Almost got out in the time-frame allotted! Really makes you think:-) Staff is VERY friendly and accommodating. Park itself is very clean and well kept. Only drawback is lack of trees for shade. But this is a new park and they have them planted. Will be back! Love this place! read more

My family of 6, LOVED this resort! Every staff member was friendly, the grounds were well kept, and it was quiet and peaceful. We stayed in "The Nest" cabin. It seemed like new! Aside from the great views all around, everything was clean and well decorated. All of the little details just added to the warmth and comfort of this resort. The on-site restaurant/brewery, Q&Brew, was FANTASTIC! Again, the decor and every little detail that added to the fun ambiance inside the restaurant was above and beyond, including the old fashioned phone and the interactive door in the wall with the automated old man in the outhouse (my kids giggled at his verbal recordings). The food was delicious (I recommend the Blacksmith Brisket Tacos and the Texas Delight dessert!) and the prices were reasonable! They even provide complimentary mini-cornbread muffins in an iron skillet, drizzled with honey and a side of ranch style beans! It was a perk to have an onsite brewery (my husband tried the flight and walked away with a growler), and the root beer was excellent (and I am not a fan of RB). We appreciated the option to order a "family meal" from the restaurant and have it delivered to the cabin (great family meal options and an excellent deal for what you get, we somehow had leftovers with our family of 6). We enjoyed the 1.5 racks of ribs, greens (I wanted my boys to experience some authentic southern cooking), and scrumptious smoked creamy mac 'n cheese-seriously order extra mac, because it is that good! My kids enjoyed borrowing some fishing poles from the on-site General Store, and purchased the night crawlers ($7 for 12), and went fishing in the pond. They caught and released bass and catfish. They also rented the paddle boat. We pre-purchased tickets to the Escape Room (Treasure hunter room), but my younger children got a bit scared when they saw the birdeater tarantula in the gumball machine terrarium in the lobby, so they refused to go in. Staff was gracious to refund the tickets for those that refused to participate at that point. I joined my teens in the fully interactive escape room, and we had a BLAST!!! I've done these before in San Diego, CA, and this Escape Room at the resort could easily compete with those with the special effects, puzzles, riddles and challenges. WELL DONE Silver Spur Resort! Other amenities included a small pool onsite, and there are some special planned activities, but check the calendar when booking your stay. Overall, I think this was one of our favorite stays on a 3 week long road trip-it was cheaper than a hotel stay and we got SO much more and built wonderful family memories! I highly recommend staying here and they have so many options to fit everyone's budget (little houses, cabins, RV sights, and Air conditioned covered wagons). We hope to visit again! read more

Stayed here with a few friends for a moms night out. The place was VERY clean and everyone was very nice. Everything felt really relaxed and laid back. We stayed in The Big Hoss and the beds were so comfortable, even the twin size bunks. I can't say enough how clean everything was. Rated a 4/5 only because their phones did not ever work when I tried to call. I had to do all communicating through my airbnb app. They're new and there is a lot of construction going on so I'm sure there are little kinks to be worked out but all in all we loved our stay and would absolutely stay again! read more

Last summer I took my family on a road trip to visit some family in the area. We stayed in a mix of places on the trip and Durham's Roost was everyone's favorite. The kids enjoyed having some "space" (you know how teenagers can be), my wife and I appreciated a great night's sleep and having a kitchen a laundry machines are a bonus. I came to find out that we were some of the first people to stay at the Roost and there were many more plans for the property which were were all excited to hear about. My husband and I had a last minute overnight stay necessary in Canton. We chose Silver Spur Resort hoping to book a Cabin, literally last minute. I called and spoke with Jeff Durham- he took care of us right away- sent me a link within minutes to confirm and pay- they wouldn't be there by the time we arrived, but gave specific instructions on where to retrieve the key. Customer Service is the most important thing when dealing with any type of transaction. Jeff Durham was so kind and efficient in taking care of us. When all was said and done, I felt like I won a prize or something!! EXCEPTIONAL customer service! The cabin we stayed in was the HenHouse- it was adorably perfect and so very clean! I got married at Silver Spur Resort on 10-13-18 & my experience with this venue was AWFUL. I booked this venue over 9 months in advance to prepare for my special day. We booked everything this venue had to offer including the barn, cabins, and the large house. When booking this venue we selected an upgraded package that allowed us to book the venue for TWO days (10-12-18 & 10-13-18). We were persuaded into buying this two day rental to allow plenty of time to setup everything the day before. Unfortunately, the forecast called for rain on our wedding day which meant the outdoor ceremony would most likely have to be moved indoors. When we booked this venue we were told that it could fit 300 people for an indoor or outdoor ceremony. Once arranging the tables for approximately 250 guests we quickly learned what a tight squeeze it would be. In order to have the ceremony indoors with 250 people meant guests sat at their tables and no real space for an aisle walkway (which every bride dreams of the important walk down the aisle). Since it was still the day before the wedding the venue coordinator suggested renting a large outdoor tent from an outside company to accommodate for space. She suggested putting the tent at the far end of the barn where the sliding barn doors are located and this could provide additional space. The tent was ordered & paid for by us (for $2,000) and when the tent rental company arrived & started setting up the tent we were then told by the owner we couldn't use the tent. After talking it over the venue did agree to the non-refundable tent their venue coordinator had suggested. However they wanted the tent to be moved back an additional 2ft. in case of rain run off. Clearly there is no communication between the workers & owner/management. I was then asked what my backup plan was, if it did in-fact rain on our wedding day? Followed by the venue asking me if I had an alter to use for indoors? Isn't that the venues job to have a backup plan for rainy weather? Later on that evening for the rehearsal not a single employee was there at the venue to help assist, not even the venues coordinator. When arriving on our wedding day to start getting ready (hair/makeup) no employees were there to provide us direction on where to go to get ready. At around 10:00AM management & coordinator arrived to tell us we were getting ready in the wrong location (even though we paid to rent everything). From this point forward we felt nothing but tension. We were then told that if our wedding started at 5PM & if we wanted to start serving alcohol to our guests at 5:30PM all alcohol would be cut off at 9:30PM, even though in previous conversation/text messages with the venues coordinator stating that we would pay an additional $50/hr to keep security on-site since we requested an additional hour of serving alcohol. I (the bride) then get a text message from the venues coordinator that we need to have a MEETING less than two hours before my wedding was about to start. TALK ABOUT STRESSFUL!! Since the weather didn't work out in our favor and it did rain they provided no transportation (their covered golf cart) to get me to the barn. So my wedding dress got wet and dirty on the bottom before my ceremony even started. Once the wedding did start and the celebration began the venue employees did not help assist with anything. No one helped pick up plates after dinner. No one walked around making sure things were going as planned/ on schedule. The only thing they did was have the security officer threaten my guests on DWI's. A lot of my wedding guest told me days after the wedding that they felt uncomfortable being at the venue drinking because of the way the security officer and venue workers talked to them. Multiple guests told me that the security officer stated they would have every police officer/DPS officer lined up on HWY 19 doing sobriety checks. . . So if you're a bride that wants a stressful / drama filled wedding then this is the place for you. Otherwise look elsewhere. read more
