Easy little stop for breakfast and lunch. We were able to bank the boat right on shore and walk up to the restaurant. The food is decent but nothing spectacular. Breakfast I went Spanish omelette which was ok. Lunch I went burger and onion rings which everyone raves about but were just ok. I'm sure we'll be back as this always seems to be out go-to. read more

Oak Ridge had been advertising a Thanksgiving feast for a few days. I passed up many Furr's and other cafeteria's coming back from Dallas just to get their Thanksgiving feast. I ordered on the phone for a ToGo plate. I Specified on the phone to cut the bread, the desert and asked if both my sides be dressing. I also asked that for not getting any drink or dessert, could I get extra dressing. I looked in the ToGo bag at cashier. This is what I got. This "Feast" cost just under $19. I expressed to her it looked and felt more like a $7 meal. I spoke to cashier about my displeasure with the portions. She said that portion was correct, even if you ate inside. Very disappointed in the size portions of this meal. The dressing was most likely no more than 5-6 tablespoons per scoop. Scoop size was size of small ice cream scoop. Felt robbed. Got home and dressing was little to no flavor and very dry turkey. Gravy was no giblet gravy, not one piece of egg to be seen. More like brown jarred gravy. No cranberry sauce. I would have rather ate at McDonalds. I would advise skipping Oak Ridge next Thanksgiving and trying your luck somewhere else. read more

Relative to every other place in the area, this is pretty typical. Fried food. All of it. Everything fried. That said, the breading on the chicken fried steak and the onion rings was very good, but lacked any real flavor. A lot too much gravy was heaped on the chicken fried steak. They should just put a little on it, and put the rest in a side bowl. The views of the lake are probably nice, we were there on a slow, cloudy Sunday afternoon. The server was nice and friendly. Food took a long time to come out of the kitchen. I suspect that's because we had a fairly large group, But it all came out hot. read more

Stayed at the lodge for a fishing trip. Room was very neat and well maintained. Had breakfast and dinner at the restaraunt breakfast a solid 5, dinner 3. We had fish and shrimp dinner and didn't care for fish at all. Overall, very pleasant experience. Would recommend read more

If you like frozen food warmed up in a microwave, this is the place for you! Like gravey made from a bag? Come on down! Catfish is good. Burgers are decent. Everything else is at your own risk. One of the best tackle shops on the lake. Rooms are nice and have places to plug in your boats. Usually a lot of boats, and a lot of guides, at the boat ramp. read more

Love this place, never eaten inside we just pick up and go. Nice staff, food is hot, reasonably priced. Good burgers if ordering to go I suggest ordering it deconstructed to prevent soggy bun. Wish they would lay off some of the batter on the onion rings and salt right after frying. Okra needs to be cooked more, usually undercooked. Sandwiches are spot on and filling no, need for a side. My favorite is the chicken fried chicken dinner. We will continue to come back. read more

If you enjoy catfish, stay away....was frozen and cooked to a mushy mess. could not eat, sent it back. at least, they did not charge for it. it was so bad, I would not eat anything else there, even after they offered. The room condition was terrible. Beds worn out, coffee pot was filthy, shower barely works and the drain is plugged. Hair was floating in the backed up water. Cold water at the sink not working. Microwave was sitting on a folding luggage rack so you had to lift up the front to open the door and the turntable did not work. The on/off chains for the ceiling fan were broken off. The cabins need to be replaced or overhauled. The grounds areas were okay and food was just okay. Will not be returning. read more

A great place to stay for an outdoors getaway from the big city! Comfortable accommodations, awesome lakefront and pavillion, good food, and friendly employees. The restaurant has a spectacular view of the lake and is a great place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Their chicken fried steak is the best!! I've ordered everything from breakfast burritos to steak to burgers and onion rings and it is always very good and an excellent value. Lakeside food simply doesn't get any better. Great burgers and sandwiches with fries and onion rings that will curl your toes. The salad bar is always fresh and loaded with variety. Top it all off with their special German chocolate cake with a thick layer of pecan pie filling and you'll be saying "5-star" too. And did I mention their excellent breakfast and evening entrées?
