We should have left, but we were ready to be settled. The park was completely full of queers, causing our children to wonder why such behaviours. And then while they were sleeping, there was a noisy (unnecessary) parade that woke them. This park markets family-friendly yet promotes the opposite. This is a good basic resort for a family stay, as there are plenty of things to keep all ages busy for a while! Other than the roads inside the resort having huge potholes (had to reorganize my RV cabinets and shelves from the rickety bumps), the spots were easy to park in and the length of the parking spot will accommodate large RVs The picnic tables at most of the RV spots need to be replaced! They are made out of wood and have weathered badly, causing the seats to be severely bowed. We were a bit uncertain about the strength of the seats so we didn't use the tables. The "Lodge" had employees available 24 hours a day which is good in case of an emergency, etc. I did ask them about renting a go-cart, as I had my disabled grandmother with me; they promised to call me back about renting a golf cart but after several more calls and visits to the Lodge, nobody ever returned my communication attempts. The little general store is convenient, and it isn't overpriced as one might expect. Be sure to bring what you need, if possible, as the selection is very limited. They carry bait but were sold out both times I checked. Purchases may be charged to your campsite. There is a small gated dog park if you bring along your pooch. I am glad I didn't bring mine, though, as the space needed to be mowed badly and my little 5-pound Toy Pomeranian would have been lost in the weeds. The pond is nice for fishing. Beware of the many turtles; they will chomp on your hooks constantly! Bring your own lanterns for nighttime fishing. If some basic improvements and maintenance were implemented, this RV resort would be better. Check in by 9pm; check out by Noon or pay a $20 late checkout fee. After 2pm, you're paying for another night at the campsite. read more

It is nice, but you pay a lot of money for the cabins, and the air conditioning barely works in 2 out of the 3 my family rented. I feel like we paid too much money for that. Also, the closed the pool for half of the day and there isn't much else to do, so... Overall it is prett, but could be better. read more

This place isn't horrible. If we were visiting to take advantage of the trails, pool and pond I'm sure it would have been better. We just came for trade days. So, first off you cannot drive down by the cottages. They can take you by golf cart or apparently you can rent a golf cart (which we didn't find out until we were checking out). We waited over 15 minutes for them to pick us up, so after that we just hoofed it and lugged everything around ourselves. As for the cottage, it appeared fairly clean but we found a mouse dropping on the bed. And yes, I'm sure it was mouse poop. Eeek! Secondly, the head clearance is very low. In the shower, the ceiling is around 6'. My poor husband was constantly hitting his head. The bathrooms are teeny tiny. I would not recommend if you are on the bigger side. The stairs to the loft were really tight too (somewhere around 14" wide and enclosed). The temperature was another issue. The heater in our unit didn't work. We turned on the fireplace, but sadly it did not generate heat. Apparently it is just for show. Lastly, the bed was a very cheap mattress that hurt our backs. I'm sure that if you rent a golf cart, are under 6' tall, are not handicapped, are not plus size, and don't mind sharing your cabin with rodents it would be 4 or 5 stars. read more

If there was a negative number I would selected it. Last year we had issues. 1st cabin had not been cleaned in a while and smelt like a dumpster 2nd AC didn't work it was 109 on the inside 3rd stayed one night then someone was rented it and had to move a 4th time. This year we got one night in the cabin we rented but it had a molded pitcher in the fridge. Moved because of electricity went out. 2nd cabin, molded paper towels, no dishwasher soap, hair in the shower, dvd player (s) didn't work, dishes were not sanitary, then the heater went out. Tried the electric fireplace and it didn't work either. Went to the bathroom one night and there were ants on the toilet. They are not worth the money. I am still trying to recover money from them; believe the mold was not secluded to the paper towels caused some kind of infection; had to leave a night early and urgent care the next day. Was our third attempt but definitely not going back. read more

Electric power went out at the RV Park and they gave no refund to leave early. Left early as it was hot and had no AC.

Our RV camping group was there for the weekend for one of their gatherings. Unfortunately, we were not able to join them since we had a busy booked weekend. But we did decide to drive down for the day and attend the hot dog cookout that was being held on Friday evening. My wife and I were very impressed with the facilities. The clubhouse was very nice with lots of amenities. The pool looked very inviting with its sparkling water. The RV sites (full hookups) were nicely spaced out. The roads through the park could use some TLC, There are some potholes that need attention. Next time we're in the Canton area, we'll definitely considering RVing at Mill Creek Ranch. read more

I was looking for camping places/cabins within 3-4 hrs of Dallas for the Labor day weekend and stumbled on this place which is just under 2 hrs from my home. Just when I was about to reserve online I had a query regarding the location of the cottage within the resort so I called them up to know further details and during the conversation laziness in me decided to make the reservation over the phone instead of online for 2 Nights and luckily they just started a spl promotion(not present in website) which discounted me around 100$.... so being lazy is sometimes good ;) The checkin starts at 4PM so we arrived around that time after visiting the Monday Flea market. The cottage is nice and of decent size and can fit 6 people ( 4 Adults + 2 Kids ). The loft can only sleep kids unless you are under 3.5 ft or your mindful of your head when you wake up. ;) Kitchen is well equipped with some basic utensils and the bathroom is little bit congested but not a big deal for us though. The grounds are well kept. I see that other yelpers complained about ants. But I haven't found them though... well if you think I was lucky then continue reading as I found something else. ;) The resort has multiple ponds stocked with fish ( bass, crappies... at-least tats what we caught ). My kids enjoyed fishing, caught a few dozen. Its catch and release though. Also this place has other amenities for paddle boat, biking, store where we can get fishing gear upon paying 5$ resort fees per person per day. I was also told that they have friday cook outs which we missed. I would have given the resort 5* for all the above but below are my complaints. - I made reservation for the Golf cart for one the day I stayed, but to my surprise when I went to the front desk to pick it up. I was told that there aren't any left. What..!!! - On the day 2 of our stay we found a big cockroach crawling near the kitchen area.. :( read more

Okay, I have to give this place four stars solely based on the fact I have nothing to compare this type of resort to, but it was amazing. I lucked out that a friend was having her wedding ceremony and reception here, so I packed up the car and headed to Canton for the weekend. We crashed for a night in one of their sleeper cabins that was just precious. It's amazing what they can do with wood and a certain square footage. This little two-story loft-like cabin was built to house a lot of amenities (washer/dryer, stove, microwave, full bath, full fridge, etc.) in such a small space. We were golf-carted to our cabin, and then the five of us took dibs on where we were sleeping. This kid won out and took the loft that was positioned right over the kitchen and seemed like a secret tree fort from my childhood. The grounds were expansive and beautiful. I had no idea this place existed off the road, but once we got back here it was just so unique. Because they're a resort they all sorts of activities that were worth looking into as well. The staff was very friendly; however, my friend's experience with their wedding/event planner was not so great. :( All in all, worth looking into and maybe taking a break out of your element. read more

By far our favorite RV spot to go! Plenty to do for everyone! People are out and about with their kids. You can fish, play games outside, dance, eat, live music, dog park, pools, hot tub, beautiful trails to ride on, activities for kids, etc. The bath houses are always clean. I wish they had more privacy for shower stalls. Only two showers have privacy in woman's room in one of the bath houses. The free taxi over to trade days is a plus. We will def be going back trade days or not! They also have rentals for all the activities which was awesome! read more

We decided to getaway for Easter weekend and wanted something with an oven to make Easter dinner in so we packed up 5 kids in two cars Friday night and headed to Mill Creek, From Flower Mound, this is about an hour 15 to hour and a half drive depending on the state of 635 :). As I am sure everyone already knows, Canton is known for its first Monday Trade Day weekends so if you go, do not ever plan on going that weekend (unless you are going to the flea market) as it will be PACKED. This place is a combination of small cottage resort and RV park with two clubhouses, two pools and a hot tub. It is super clean, private and has many water features on the cabin side. We got a cabin with a loft and shoved three kids up there and had two boys sleep in a tent (on the cabin's lot) the first night. The second night, I took one boy home and picked up my daughter who slept on the pull out couch that night (yes 635 was awful even on a Saturday). The cabin we had was equipped with picnic tables, chairs and a fire ring. Some of the "executive" cabins have all the above plus outdoor kitchens and fireplaces (in addition to a conversation pit designed around a fire ring). Friday night they had "dinner service" with a couple sandwich choices and a full bar (the county is dry). Saturday they had about three kids activities scheduled including showing Hop at night and Sunday they had Sunrise Easter service and an egg hunt with face painting for the kids. Overall, I would say it is one of the best RV parks around, but for $175-$200/ night, it better be :) read more

First timers here, camped out in lot 80 with our 39 foot trailer. The view from out spot, amazing. We over looked Walton pond that is packed full of perch and bass. It is catch and release, so don't go there expecting to have a fish fry :) there was a bath house and laundry facility for the long term campers. The park is just beautiful. It offers walking tracks, a giant battleship, life size chess board, paddle boating, Frisbee golf, club house and store. You can bring your rv or stay in a cabin. They do offer discounts for good Sam. WiFi is 5 extra bucks, they give you codes for each device, but it is not great Internet. You can't stream movies but TV reception is decent. Over all we had a great experience and will be back. read more

Very disappointed! This rated one of highest in state of Texas with woodalls and good sam's....they must have known the inspectors were coming. The park does have amenities, however, it is not very well maintained and very expensive for being so run down....we were there on a holiday weekend, our site and neighboring sites were like unmowed hayfields....... We asked three times to have someone please mow our site...had to even sign some waiver to allow them to mow!!!! Took them two days and lots of apologies, and then they only mowed our site and even thou our neighbors signed the waiver also, they never did mow their site.... If u want to use the spa, stand in line behind all the little kids..,with all their toys and floats as they don't have any age limit on the hot tub......Internet was constantly up and down! Customer service was young kids that were pretty useless in getting anything done.....very pricey and not stellar in my books and extremely disappointing for what is listed as a top rv resort.... I actually discovered this place riding the trolley during a Trade Days months prior to my visit and just knew that I had to make reservations. So with birthdays coming up, we booked a cabin here and I must say, it's a nice change in pace from the "city life". The cabin itself was nice and clean and the back patio was serene with views of a pond. We rented a golf cart so that we could wander around the premises when we wanted. Beautiful grounds, and beautiful weather lead us to never be inside. There are a dozen ponds to fish at, with paddle boats to rent at the front pond. Friendly neighbors and staff and 24/7 concierge if you didn't rent a cart and needed to be picked up and taken to your car. (They aren't allowed near the cabins) There is an RV section and then the cottage section and 2 separate pools. There are also frisbee golf and life size chess and battleship games on the grounds. There was a flyer that showed live music nights and bingo, but we decided to hang out at our cabin instead. I definitely see myself coming back for a weekend or longer again. Note: I went on a non trade day week, so it wasn't crowded at all. read more

This is a beautiful place. We are looking forward to coming here often, during Trade Days of course. There is a free shuttle service that runs every hour to take you to the biggest flea market/craft fair we've ever been to. There are a few catch and release fishing ponds here and pools to swim in. The grounds are clean and well maintained. The ONLY reason I'm not giving them a 5 Star rating is the internet. They charge $5 for the use and it's super slow and seldom available. They need to make it free and let the customer cross their fingers that they get on. All and all its a great place. read more

We have stayed here before but in a different cottage we are staying in C89 it is horrible - we were so excited to stay here again due to our last experience however that was in C87 that unit is great - we stay here only on trade day weekends so the amenities mean nothing to us. So no matter what Cottage you stay in it is not worth the money you pay per night both cabins the internet sucks and Roku TV suck and I mean suck! in C87 it was very roomy. Bathroom is great when you have someone sleeping on the sofa side of bathroom you can block off each side with the doors. With C89 the loft stairway ends at the bedroom door you go under loft to go to bathroom which re-arranges everything on first floor. in C89 you can't turn the air condition on above 72 they have it locked which makes it very uncomfortable when trying to sleep. You try to open the side door in the evening to cool the Cottage off because it is the only door that has a screen for bug but you can't it's locked. Beds are they worst in C89 master bed room ceiling fan SUCKS! No TV in Bedroom sound system does not play anything but static. This unit very uncomfortable for almost a $1000 for 4 night don't waste money you can sleep in your back seat of your car with the windows down and be more comfortable Than this. You can't park you car near your unit, you can't see at night to walk back to your car for anything, TV's don't work, internet sucks, you just lay on this thing they call a bed and sweat. I know I'm paid up through the weekend but not sure I will stay. This is miserable. read more

Not worth the money for cottages. We missed the part where you can't park in front of your cottage. You park in the parking lot and walk down hill about 100 or so yards down through pot holes to get to your cottage. If you ask, they will take you down in a golf cart. But each time you need to go back to your car, you walk or call for a ride. The cabin is not set up for luggage. There is absolutely no place to lay out luggage. The bedroom door and bathroom door are very narrow and you must turn sideways to get in. The bed in cabin 97 is cheap, hard and makes noise anytime someone moves. There is only one chair facing the tv, and two chairs at the table. The cottages are not worth the money! The rv park is nice, but don't spend $181 a night on a cottage. (Just for reference...we travel w a small fan for sleeping, there is no floor space to put it down and no solids surface to set it, we had to put it outside the bedroom in front of the frid read more

What a beautiful resort! Easy access to/from I-20. It's tucked back behind a building, and the directions were a little awkward, but that was more of a tired guest issue. There's someone at the desk until 9pm, so late check-ins are easy. The front desk area was huge and multi-purpose. It was quiet when we arrived (Monday afternoon). The RV sites are mostly pull-through. They are concrete and level. There are trees everywhere, placed well so they don't interfere with slides. The lots between spaces have tables and are grassy. There is a shower facility with rocking water pressure. It was clean, spacious, and best of all, private. The overall layout of the RV area is well planned. The rows are clearly marked, as are individual sites. The power drops are decorated like little lanterns or houses or something, and the site numbers are affixed to them. We make a lot of trips across Texas, and this place just jumped to our #1 choice for mid-point stop. read more

It is definitely the most expensive campground to stay at for Market Days In Canton but if you like having green space between you and the next RV, long level concrete pull-thru sites, hot tub, nice pool, & cable then it's well worth the additional cost. Friendly, abundantly helpful staff. Clean, clean bathrooms. Beautiful landscape. It's a resort stay for those who aren't really into the all-day shopping and would like to relax on something other than asphalt. They even offer "tiny house" accommodations for rent or for sale. On Friday night they have live music with cash bar and catered meals at a reasonable price. In general a great stay. The only negative that was worth minus a half-star if possible was the Friday entertainment. In the past the event was in a covered pavilion and offered a variety of food. This time we ate on a basketball court with plates on our laps. Dinner was BBQ served by truck headlight. The nice young ladies running the bar were not able to tell soda from a Diet Coke or vodka from bourbon. It was very much a disappointment from my passed experience here and one of the reasons we decided to stay here with 3 other couples. I requested a Cabin for my daughter and I she has asthma that was Non Smoking..when we got there to check in we had park 100 feet away and walk to cabin you cant park at your Cabin. we told them ahead of time we had infant I was disabled with hip replacement and my daughter had acute asthma..they said they were out.of golf carts,They gave us Cabin 60 which someone hadsmoked and they knew it had smoke in it a large turbine fan blowing..my daughter had sleep in car because of smoke and they didn't offer move us or give us a refund. spoke with Guest Services and Property Mgr I explained I would call Owmer and discuss said didnt care..Rude and unprofessional and are lousy Property Managers read more

My husband and I decided to plan a couples retreat outside of Dallas. We found the Mills Creek Resort! It's only about 30-45 minutes outside of Dallas in a small town called Canton, Texas. Canton is known for its first Monday Trade Days! One of the largest Trade Flea Markets in North Texas. This small cottage resort offered the BEST cottages that were super clean, private and so romantic. The resort offers fishing, biking, hiking and much more. We stayed in the Crystal Cottage! Very cute and romantic. The Staff was super friendly and the Director of Sales, Stacy was just super nice!! They have several restaurants around the area to choose from, but the cottages come equipped with full kitchens, so you can cook as well. They do have RV park stations with Bon fire areas. I think this place is perfect for a little get away or a retreat! Check it out!!! read more

Only one because I can't give zero. We had reservations for Friday, February 27, 2015. Per their cancellation policy any cancellation made 72 hours out would not receive any cancellation charges. I called on Tuesday, February 24, 1015 to cancel our reservations due to bad weather. I was informed that I would be charged for the first day. When I inquired I was told that, I am only doing what "they" told me to do. I have stayed in this park in the past and it is a lovely park. It is too bad and any of you that stay here after reading this are only encouraging and rewarding bad behavior. Hope $40 was worth losing a return customer. read more

Mill Creek Ranch is a well maintained park with easy access and great amenities. The park is close to the highway, but you cannot hear the traffic. The pools are great and the internal roads are smooth. Definitely either bring bikes or rent them at the front, as the campground is spread out. My only "complaint" is that the cable service offered was very fuzzy, and our neighbors to either side of us reported the same. We were able to get good reception using our antenna. Also, the picnic table was in rough shape, as were the tables around us. I would definitely plan on returning. read more

Nice level parking spots, mostly all pull-thru's which makes for easy parking. Nothing shaded although we didn't need it when we visited. The middle of January and the place was completely deserted. I guess during First Monday's this place would be packed. Seems like it would be a good park to visit in better weather. read more

This was my second time here. This is where I attended RV maintenance training a couple of years back. We are taking the back roads home and we found ourselves on Texas 19. We called ahead and the young lady on the phone said; "Come on in". When we arrived she was extremely friendly and got us checked in and parked quickly. Sites are very level with full service hookups. Price is hard to beat. $25.00-WoW fantastic price. read more

This is a really nice resort, but my complaint is that both times that I've been here they've only had one pool open. I believe that if they advertise two pools they should post that they have rented one pool out to a wedding (the first time I was here) now a family reunion that I'm here now. The front pool is very crowded and I paid in advance so they don't give refunds on any of their guests. Now I'm unable to use their hot tube because it's rented out without any warning. Other then that, this is a really nice place, if you're just here to camp. read more

Here's the good, the bad, and the ugly. Came in for a family reunion this weekend. First day, checked into cabin 80. DO NOT book this unit. When we checked in, my brother and I headed up to the tiny loft space to set our bags down, we noticed ants crawling on the mattress (two twin mattresses laying on the floor) the ceiling and the windows. We proceeded to spray raid all around the upstairs to help with the ants. Downstairs noticed cockroaches coming out of the bathroom sink.. Gross. Went the the Grand Lodge for dinner, small selection of food- however they did offer a nice selection of beer, wine and liquor with some live music. Pool area is pretty nice, quaint- not resort style as it only has a small amount of plastic chairs and tables around the pool. No umbrellas and limited shade if you aren't wanting to be in the sun. We had to re spray upstairs before going to bed bc of the ants. Upon waking up we found a cockroach upstairs, in the bathroom, and crawling across the kitchen while we tried to have breakfast. Nasty. I know we are in the country but cockroaches should never be an issue. Front desk staff happily re accommodated us to unit 67 which had no ant or pest problems and was much more spacious and well maintained. (Management never followed up on this) The rest of the weekend was a blast. Only other small peeves would be having to pay $5 per guest to paddle boat on a VERY TINY pond that is self service.. So wear sandals so you can push yourself out. They nickel and dime you for wifi $5 a night which should be free given the price of the cabins. They also don't have enough golf cart staff and charge $65 a night for rentals (more than a car rental mind you) and do not offer enough for guests to rent anyways as one of my family members tried to rent one and they were rented out. Maybe have one cart per unit available that can be rented and have the rate cheaper. Would I stay here again, probably not. read more

A group of girlfriends and I stayed at Mill Creek in January for Canton Trade Days. The teenagers who ran the front desk were helpful enough, the cabin was clean, and it had the amenities we wanted, but the trouble came in the middle of the night, when it got into the high twenties outside, and our heater did not work. I was so cold in the middle of the night, I could hardly get out from under the covers to see what the problem was. The thermostat said heat, but the temperature read 56. I cranked it up as high as it would go, turned on the fire place, but to no avail. Two hours later, my girlfriends and I were still freezing, and the temperature still said 56. The worst part of the story is that when we checked out, we let Daniel know about the problem. He said there was nothing he could do. We asked for the manager's information, and left a message for the manager to call us. After three days, my girlfriend called Ryan. He claims he had called me and left a message. That was the first lie. He then claimed that Daniel and someone else when to check the cabin, and the thermostat was set to "cool." Second lie. We are four intelligent, masters-degreed women. I am certain we know how to check a thermostat. I will never stay at Mill Creek again, nor would I recommend it to anyone I knew. The workers and management are a shady crew, and I would warn you to stay far away. I know for my next Canton visit, I will be staying at one of the many other choices. read more

This resort is nice. But for the price I was a little disappointed. We arrived later in the evening. It lacks lighting.....lots of it. It was our first time and we had no clue where to go, it was dark, signs didn't say anything. RV site is nice and large, it's quiet. We stayed at front of property, there were 2 restrooms, 1 for men and 1 for women. With one shower and one toilet in each. For as large as this property is, I would expect larger bathrooms. There may have been more bathrooms in back of property but not any close to our site. My husband and 2 kids used the bicycles & disc golf. It cost $5/per person/per day for resort fee. No wifi, which I don't mind, didn't need it, but once again for the price should have been included. Bonus: close to Trade Days and kids liked playground read more
