The Silver Spoon Cafe (open 7 days a week) in Ravena, NY (Hudson Valley)

Sleek Silver Spoon, is the place to be! I have always enjoyed their eggs, soups, sandwiches, desserts, wraps, salads, omelettes and coffee. They serve heartier lunch/dinner dishes like meatball pasta, steak, macaroni, burgers and breakfast platters. This is Americana-heartland food! The menu is not that large, four pages maybe but the kitchen is very, very, consistent with how they make their dishes. You can come on consecutive days, with different cooks and the plates are i-dentical. They have tiny stations throughout the place for bussing, paying, serving orange juice, and when it gets busy waitresses help each other! One room has 2-4 tops at windows, while the other, larger room has Western style 8+ tops that are round for big groups. This place is a real gem. I know the owners, they are simply wonderful. Never had an issue. Easy parking. Warm in the winter. Good quality ingredients. The way the staff, all around, and owners treat customers is proof: Silver Spoon is the real diner deal. And what results, is a stellar rating! Review: 5+

Very cute local diner. Have almost exclusively came for breakfast but came at lunchtime during this visit. Always prompt seating, even when busy. Everyone you encounter is warm and friendly. We've tried pancakes, country breakfast, hungry man platter, omelets, breakfast sandwiches and a chicken parm sub with fries. Never a bad item. Absolutely recommend!

Ham and cheese omelette, hashbrowns, rye toast with sausage links. Husband loved it and ate every bite!

Decided to stop here during our drive East to NH after reading reviews, a few miles off the thruway but worth the side trip. We were seated immediately, drink order taken within a minute or two and our food came out quickly thereafter. My husband ordered a ham and cheese omelette with a side of sausage links, I had the turkey club....both were amazing! I took half of the sandwich to go. We ordered several desserts to take with us as it was the holiday. Everyone loved the lemon blueberry cheesecake, Italian cream cake, and cinnamon rolls. Sorry no pics for those because they bagged them directly from the dessert display. We loved it so much on the drive over, we decided to stop on the return trip home. Busier the second time around but still quick to be seated. Service wasn't as quick or efficient as the first time but still food and drinks came out quick. Unfortunately, our server didn't check back to refill drinks and immediately brought the check when she did come back so we didn't order any desserts to bring home. Probably better for our waist lines because the desserts looked amazing! I had the ribeye steak, it was okay, a little overcooked and my husband had the same omelette, it was not as good, different cheese used and home fries came on plate instead of hash browns. Would definitely try again when in the area!

Great food and service on the way to lake placid from Long Island. Waitress was lovely, kids loved their Mickey Mouse pancake, husband and I enjoyed our egg sandwiches. Comfy ambiance.

As I'm looking at the menu I'm intrigued with the variety of foods they have. I opted for the Rueben. I don't like rye bread so I asked to put it on a Kaiser roll instead. I am so glad I picked that. It was probably the best Reuben sandwich I've had as long as I can remember. It came out hot, and I mean hot!!! Cheese all melty and it was delicious!!! The owners Yaakov and Dvekah very friendly, conversational, and inviting. I want able to stay and eat very long because I had a precious appointment but I am very happy I went in. Boy, are we glad we did. At first glance, the menu seemed pretty simple with limited options, but sometimes less is more and that was definitely the case here. We started with the banana milk, and it was phenomenal. You could taste the fresh banana in every sip, perfectly blended and not overly sweet. My wife ordered the strawberry milkshake and it was just as impressive; creamy, refreshing, and full of real strawberry flavor. For food, we shared the turkey sandwich, which was out of this world. The flavors were balanced beautifully with fresh veggies and just the right amount of sauce. To top it off, we ordered the waffles with fresh fruit, which were absolute perfection. The waffles came off the grill hot and crisp, paired with vibrant, fresh fruit, and drizzling rich maple syrup onto them was the highlight of the meal. The place itself is small and cozy, with a cabin-style charm that makes you feel right at home. It's the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy simple but incredibly well-made food, and appreciate the little details that set it apart. Can't forget the staff as they made the experience incredible as well with the quick service. I'm already looking forward to my next visit when I'm on a road trip up north. This is definitely a hidden gem worth going out of your way for.

I ordered the Fontina Panino (vegan sausage, fontina cheese, arugula and fennel mustard on ciabatta) and a cortado to drink. We take out seat in the very cool back room, and only after 5 or so minutes the drink and food arrives. Now I am a complete foodie, really tough on everything I eat, but after one bite I was in love. To the point where I asked Lauren, the owner, what mustard they were using, and then ordered a panini press when I got home hoping to recreate the magic. Perfectly chewy bread, just the right balance of sweet and savory, and that mustard. Truly amazing. My wife ordered the avocado toast which she said was perfection. I wish I could bundle this place up and ship it to New Haven because I'd be eating one of those sandwiches every week. As for everything else: The service was great. The atmosphere laid back and funky. Everything was reasonable priced. LOVE LOVE LOVE Cafe Joust!

It certainly didn't hurt that the weather was beautiful and there was one outdoor table open when we arrived so we could sit with our dog by our side. Morningbird is a great fit for the area and absolutely worth visiting even if you're a town or two away. We came here around 1pm on a Saturday, on our way from Hudson to the Adirondacks. Thankfully it was on the way, allowing us to both shave off a bit of our drive and try a new spot we'd been eying for a while. Thanks to some pictures on Google, I saw that there were at least a few outdoor tables, which was important because we had our dog with us. You need to order inside but they'll bring it out to your when it's ready. Though we only spent all of five minutes indoors, I immediately loved the vibe and could picture myself hanging, reading, working here for a while. All the tables were full at this hour, but it did not seem overly packed. The coffee here is delicious, though I can only speak to the cold brew. That said, a friend of ours speaks highly of the lattes/other espresso drinks, for what it's worth. While waiting for my coffee, I perused the selection of prepared foods -- curated with a precision I've come to expect of most businesses in this area. As some have mentioned, the food at Morningbird (and the neighboring Aviary) is Asian-inspired, as are the items for sale. Expect gourmet condiments and seasoning, alongside plenty of coffee/tea and coffee/tea-related products. It's a marvel that I didn't walk out of there with five jars of chili crisp (potentially my all-time favorite condiment). Food-wise, I got the Iceberg Wedge w/ fried shiitakes, blistered sungolds, salted cashews, vegan thai green goddess dressing and my partner got the Fried Omelette and Kale over rice w/ garlic fried rice, roasted kale, crispy shallot. Every ingredient of both dishes was fresh and delicious and flavorful, and the preparations were familiar with a bit of whimsy. The prices are extremely reasonable for both items, but it's possible that it's because they're both on the smaller side as far as entrees go. Not a complaint, just worth mentioning in case you are very hungry. Service was super fast, almost impossibly so. An enjoyable experience start to finish, making Morningbird a spot we'll certainly be returning to.
