A locally-owned gem with Southern hospitality and delicious Italian food. Having been a fan of this restaurant a few years back, I was excited to try it again after recently moving back to the area. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts to visit on a Sunday (they're closed!), I finally made it on a Tuesday evening. I was promptly greeted and seated by the friendly host right as they opened at 5 p.m. Our waitress was welcoming and took our appetizer order right after our drinks. We were debating between the mozzarella sticks and calamari, and she recommended the trio, which included both, plus fried zucchini - a great suggestion! Soon after our appetizer arrived, the owner and chef came to our table to introduce himself and check on our food. It was a nice, personal touch that you don't see very often. While the service was a little on the slower side, it was clear that the small but mighty staff was attentive and making their rounds to all the tables. For our main course, we ordered the chicken parmesan, which was a generous portion, easily shareable for two, and came with a side salad. It was yummy. This restaurant has a certain charm with its combination of Southern hospitality and Italian cuisine. I would recommend it based on my experience. They also have some weekly specials (unsure for how long) : -Wednesday Family Night: Large 3-topping pizza for $11.99 -Thursday Date Night: The $5 corkage fee for BYOB is waived, and they offer a "share a bowl" upgrade for $5.99 (usually $9.99), which gives you two servings of protein instead of one. Showed up at opening (5pm) tonight with our regular group of 6. Every table had a reserved sign but none were occupied. We were turned away after a veiled effort to "try" to seat us. Out of curiosity, we called the restaurant shortly after 6pm and asked about seating for 4. We were told to come on. Still trying to figure out what the heck. We have enjoyed the food and service in the past but think we'll be going elsewhere. read more

Great for gluten-free options! If you're gluten-free, this is a great choice in Biloxi. The food is amazing. They have gluten free pizza, pasta, sauces, and meatballs and my non-celiac family members couldn't tell the difference. Great, authentic Italian food. We will be back. read more

This place is amazing. If you have never tried the lasagna then you are missing out. The mozzarella sticks are always a hit, breaded in house no pre bought frozen products. The pizzas are the freshest dough and highest quality around. Be prepared to sit for a while and be made to feel at home. Oh what a treat!! I had GF Mozzarella sticks which were almost like bread sticks with Moz mixed in. Really good. Then I had the GF baked onion soup. Yum! Haven't had that in years. Then of course I topped it off with Pizza! GF puffy cauliflower crust. Not your normal cardboard. It was so good. Only caught a pic of the pizza. This rating is more influenced by the service problems we experienced than the food which itself was good but not in the great category. This restaurant is like the little engine that could with some derailments along the way. We wanted to really like this restaurant and support it but at the same time it is a disservice to future customers to not provide a truly honest review. The owner , Chris, almost to a fault, goes out of his way to mingle with the customers and get feedback and ensure that their meals are to their satisfaction. However, because the owner is also 1 of only 2 chefs in the restaurant, as another reviewer had aptly previously pointed out , time spent mingling with customers, although well intentioned, means that meals aren't coming out of the kitchen as fast as they should. We certainly experienced this ourselves. We looked forward to our recent visit to the restaurant given all the five star reviews. As an Italian myself who cooks a lot, the food (lasagna, pasta alfonso. Sicilian favorite pizza) was good, but not exceptional, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. In particular, the "tavern" style pizza, which had received so many rave reviews, was decidedly mediocre. In particular, unlike any other tavern pizza we've ever had, the crust on this pizza was not cracker like or crisp, but was instead limp and saggy when you attempted to pick a piece up. In fairness at least the ingredients were good quality, although it was lacking in herbs. The lasagna, though tasty, was almost noodleless and layerless and more like a big pile of food covered in sauce - have never had lasagna that wasn't stacked in noodle layers! As for the service, maybe they were having a bad day, but the service was delayed and dysfunctional. When we arrived, we, and another party of 2 ahead of us, inexplicably had to wait over 10 minutes to be seated even though this approximately 20 table restaurant was half empty. During our delayed, almost two hour dinner at the restaurant virtually every one of over half dozen tables that guests had departed from went unbussed. In fact there were several times when there were no staff members of the restaurant in the restaurant proper itself and all were in the kitchen area behind closed doors for some reason. This led to at least one party of four getting impatient after they waited many minutes for someone to greet them and seat them at the reception desk and instead walking out in disgust. Other paying customers had long waits waiting for someone to come out of the kitchen so they could simply pay their bill at the front cashier desk. In our case the dysfunctional service led to delayed delivery of unwarmed bread sticks that were burnt on the bottom. In addition, and speaking of long delays, we only received what turned out to be decidedly mediocre "upgraded" soup only ONLY after we pointed out ,halfway through our main course, that we had never received it. No apologies, no offer to remove the charge for the soup. The dessert, the chocolate mousse, was every bit worthy of the five star reviews. In summary, this unassuming, cozy restaurant tucked away in an older strip center, which has an obvious and enthusiastic local following that we witnessed while having dinner in the restaurant, is for all the reasons above, good but in our opinion, not stellar or worthy of 5 stars. While it is staffed by very hard working and friendly workers and a friendly owner it is in serious need of reorganization to improve the delivery of their meals. read more

What a great Italian restaurant! Six of us, three couples, went out recently for an awesome dinner. I had spaghetti with meat sauce, my wife had shrimp scampi. Incredible! My BIL had spaghetti with meat balls. There's 4 ways to do spaghetti. SIL had the chef's signature. Another had the supreme pizza. It was wonderful. We each brought 1/2 home, going to have leftovers. The chef/owner came out 1/2 way to check on us. Nice personal touch. The service was top notch! We are all snowbirds and headed north, but will definitely be back next winter. Oh, My Goodness!!! What a great evening at The Sicilian II Restaurant, our dear friends took us to eat there this past Saturday night. The Best Italian Food you will ever put in your mouth!! Everything was so perfect, each course of the meal, from the Flaming Saganaki appetizer "Opa"; the So So Delicious "Baked Onion Soup"; Bread Sticks; and our Excellent Italian Dishes (I had the Lasagna with real traditional marinara sauce, and my wife had the outstanding Ravioli), then to finish with a wonderful Chocolate Mousse. AND to top off the Great Meal; the visits by the Chef for each course, was the Icing on the Cake!!! He shared the history of his dad and family-owned business. The servers were the best!! This was a gem of a find! Loved the ambiance - golden light, wall mural, patterned glass. The waitress was cheerful and helpful. The chef came out just to say hi! And then we had the pizza - it was unlike any pizza we'd had - perhaps it was true Italian!? Delish crust, excellent tomato base, warmed anchovy side for my husband, and amazing sun-dried tomatoes. In town for the week and had work to do so I got a pizza to eat in. This would have been 5 stars easy as the pizza was just incredible. The crust was incredibly thick which is nice, and the sauce was one of the best I've had. So much flavor in the ground beef. I had some the next day for lunch and it heats up great in a microwave. Some crusts get chewy heated up, but this was just like the night before. What I did t like was the service for the most part. I requested extra cheese and was asked twice to confirm if a surcharge was fine. I agreed. As you can see I don't think there was extra cheese at all. Than the credit card charge of 3.00 that you find out at checkout! It's a 22.00 bill and you add 3.00 which is over 12%. On top of that they ask if you will be leaving a tip, thinking they need to enter it. No they had you the machine to do it. Just found it rude. I typically tip for takeout, 10-15 percent, but don't like being pressured. So on a 22.00 bill, 3.00 for CC and 4.50 for tip gets excessive. I will still eat here again and love the pizza, I'll just bring cash next time. However, the setting inside I found to be very nice. Small but a great setting for Italian eating!! read more

What a lovely gem of a restaurant. Don't let the outside fool you. It's in a strip mall next to a barber shop and liquor store. The inside is small and comfortable. They don't have a liquor license so bring your own wine or beer - they will open for a $5 corkage fee. We were seated after a small wait and the waitress was very friendly. We ordered the mozzarella sticks to start. They were very good - not greasy at all. My boyfriend ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce. It was flavorful and different-many vegetables in the sauce too. I got the lasagna and it was perfect. It melts in your mouth and the flavors are excellent - just like what you would expect out of your Italian grandmother's kitchen. We didn't try the pizzas but they look amazing too. Great customer service! We were highly recommended by friend. Off the regular path. We got a lasagna dinner and a fettuccine. One was served with a salad and both were served with soup. We both ordered the miso soup. So full of flavor although on a hot day not needed. The breadsticks were awful. In no way did they help sop up the delicious sauces.they were hard and not good for the meal. They lasagna was very Chicagoesque. . The Alfredo was yum. Never do I intentionally leave a non-positive review for anything that isn't about the food, so this is no exception and is only about one dish; the pizza. Specifically, The Godfather. We had looked forward to trying this and were really disappointed. Crust lacked any personality and seemed like Bisquick or similar was used. Ordered with extra cheese and nope, there's more cheese on a normal chain pizza. Veg was skimpy and sauce wasn't terrible but nothing to speak of. There was absolutely nothing memorable about this pizza but the price. The restaurant itself looked cozy and some of the other dishes looked good, so probably will give them a shot. Tried the spaghetti bolognese and I'm still thinking about it. The meat sauce was hearty with a good amount of seasoning, not too salty or bland. You could tell it had been simmered for a while because the flavors really came through. The portion was big enough for two meals but I finished the whole thing. The staff was friendly and gave great suggestions. Music inside was mellow and not too loud which I appreciate. Definitely felt like a good casual Italian spot without being over the top. This place really wowed me after eating at some pretty sub-par places recently. The location was a little interesting upon first glance, but the vibe inside was immaculate. The lighting was perfect, and it was a bit smaller of a place which made it feel a lot more intimate. I ordered the lasagna after reading a lot about it, and I was blown away by the flavors. The red sauce at this place has to be the best I've ever tasted. The service was also incredible, and almost even more than that was the timing of everything. Every single thing that was ordered came out at perfect intervals that always kept me satisfied and not wondering when the next course would come out. Finally to make the evening complete, the chef and owner came out to greet us. He and his staff were all so warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. What an absolute hidden gem! This place was soooo cool and has alot of history. It's a quite 8 to 10 table top restaurant with a ton of character. They tend to sell out of certain dishes at the start of the weekend. All the food is based on 100 + year old family recipes. You can tell by the quality of the food there is alot of love for what they do. Unfortunately they were out of the Lasagna and Manicotti on this trip. I got the Chicken Parmesan. My wife got the Fettuccine Alfredo. Our appetizer was fresh rolled mozzarella cheese sticks with marinara. We finished the meal with a Tiramisu and Chocolate mousse. I cant even describe in words how good this meal was! Everything was made with love and perfection. The place has so much charm. The original owner/chef passed away an they had a memorial table set up in the corner for him. They pour him a glass of wine everyday. The table has several of his daily items and some of his saying written down. Next year we will go on a Thursday night to make sure we can have a chance at the Lasagna. They also have bottle service for those that like to bring their own wine. If you love Italian food.This is absolute must to stop in. The Tiramisu was amazing! It was voted the top desert in Mississippi. I also loved the Chocolate Mousse. It was so light and whipped to perfect! My tip would be to call ahead if you really want the Lasagna. I called ahead for a to-go order and was hit with like a 20% "mandatory tip" at pickup. Quite ridiculous, and will not return. Food was fine. Nothing to justify insane fees on pickup orders though. --Regarding below response from owner, I still do not intend to return. A service fee posted on the receipt and at the register is not transparent to customers who look at a menu and call ahead for pickup. While I am sympathetic about the struggles of running a business, pricing by ambush is not appropriate. The price should be the price. Not the price plus an unadvertised additional 18% "service fee" tacked on when one goes to pickup. read more
