Ruined! Chipped and ripped apart! I cannot believe this!!!

MY SHOES ARE RUINED. DO NOT COME HERE. I am sobbing after leaving. I brought my Pierre Cardin heels in for a heel tip replacement (super easy fix) and I'm leaving with them more beaten up and torn than ever before. The leather is chipped away and peeling all over the heel which wasn't how I brought them in. These were tossed around carelessly and stacked under other shoes it's obvious. I AM FURIOUS AND DEEPLY UPSET. I brought up the issues and the owner Jeff told me to get out. I cannot believe this!

Will return. Given the habit or culture of buy buy buy, it's a bit of a surprise that I even find a repair shop, let alone one for shoes. A time capsule comedy club with quick repair. Unknowingly, I asked how long they have been open. The blue coat young man replied with a twinkle in his eyes, "Since 10 o'clock this morning." Ok, he has me: four generations in the running. A gent who's waiting for his sneakers chided, "and they make spaghetti on the side." LOL How long does it take to change my heel caps? "Two weeks," The blue coat said, and winked. "Oh", I said. "Two hours." He said. "Ok, I'll come back then." "Two minutes," he said. He inquired where we're from. When he heard Beijing, he blurted out fang pi and shagua, which mean 'break wind' and 'dumb kopf'. Chinese is easy to learn. Cash only. Thanks for extending the life of my beloved shoes.

These are brand new shoes that Jeff modified.
 Now I can walk without a cane..6*

A five-star shout out to the shoe lab. My cobbler's name is Jeff.... I had hip surgery due to a fracture eight months ago I was never able to walk correct without a cane and my foot dragging.... Jeff took his time did this did that and what he was done I stood up and walked without a cane or any support. Cobbler is the word...

I am not the one who would complain. I am not a germaphobe but when the pediatrist was working on…read moremy feet (I have toe fungus) she did not wear gloves. Even the lady who gives me pedicures does that. I get the impression that they're somewhat unprofessional in their practice.

My husband went with a definite diagnosis of a neuroma in his right foot. Fit for Life knew it, We…read moreknew it. They were able to provide an appt the next day and we grabbed it. My poor husband came home totally bewildered. Although he is on Medicare and a supplementary insurance, they did X-rays (later to find out not covered by insurance) and told this 80 year old man he had arthritis in his feet (duh!). All he wanted was a shot for his neuroma, but the Dr immediately started cutting into his big toe. My husband has had a fungus in his right big toe for over 15 years now. It doesn't bother him or me and he doesn't want to take a pill for it (the only way to cure a toe fungus is with a pill. Topical applications are expensive and ineffective). Next, the Dr put a small Ace elastic type support on his foot. The Dr also recommended a fungal treatment. Also recommended other medications for a variety of reasons. When my husband checked out, the bill was over $250! The X-rays weren't covered (Geez, an 80 year old with no other foot problems but the neuroma has arthritis in his feet! Really?). None of the list of medications recommended were covered by insurance and he was to pay full price to the Dr. who supplied them from her office. The Ace bandage type wrap on his foot was not covered by insurance. The x-rays of his feet weren't covered. The Dr. was to be paid full price for the x-rays. The anti-fungal topical medication, which will be non-effective, was $60. Not covered by insurance. But, at this point, my husband was so inandated by all the charges, that even though he knew he had the same stuff from 10 years ago, he paid it. When he read the literature from the medication, it said he had to apply it 3times/day for at least a year! Given the small amount they dispensed, it would be $60 X many, many times. What a racket. He was denied by the insurance most of the meds recommended and chose not to be given him, but between the X-rays, Ace-type foot support and anti-fungal med, it cost $80. Not only that, they never told him that the procedures/medicine they performed or used that day were not covered by insurance, so, it was only when he checked out that he was informed and handed a bill over $250! Boy, can they make it rain! By the way, the Ace-like brace has not been worn since his appointment. He had his cortisone shot in the neuroma and everything was fine. That's all he wanted to begin with! And now we have to pay them $80 for materials and medicine that are not effective or needed. I have no respect for this practice. My neuroma is acting up now too when I'm wearing shoes on the golf course. It really is a nasty pain and will stop you dead in your tracks. So, I will look to any body but Fit Feet for Life! When I went to a local podiatrist years ago for the neuroma, he did not need x-rays, etc. he just injected the darn cortisone in my foot pad and everything has been fine til now. About 9 years later. All I want is a cortisone shot in the neuroma, which has already been diagnosed and treated 9 years ago. So, if you have no money worries and want to contribute to them, go to Fit Feet for Life. This is strictly my opinion based on my experience.
