Part of the…read morereason I've purchased so many shoes this year is that I've worn a considerable number of shoes out lately. I get great service from Maria when I go there, and even when they have sales (that may be at other geographic locations) I don't mind searching the store for a pair of shoes that would be adequately awesome for my needs because I know that they only sell GOOD QUALITY shoes that will be mostly comfortable for my feet. While I am a woman who wears skirts and dresses more often than not, I am unlikely to wear uncomfortable footwear and Sole Experience carries so many styles of comfortable yet attractive footwear that I've had the pleasure of buying a good number of shoes here and have worn three of these pairs straight out of the store without needing to really break them in (unlike many of my purchases made elsewhere. While I do shop elsewhere for shoes on occasion, Sole Experience is the reason I look out for particular brands and styles and have a better understanding of what fits my feet best. Shoe purchases are never stress/worry free for me, but I've had more luck than not while shopping here, both for flats and for heeled shoes, including sporty styles and more fashionable shoes.

Deals can be good if you search long and hard enough. I'm not a shoe person myself but there are plenty of ladies looking around here, just saying . Washrooms if you need a break from shoe wearing. For guys there is benches to sit at almost each aisle, so if you need a break i'd take it. Don't get me wrong there do sell shoes for kids as well. It also is an outlet store so they have a few designer shoes but nothing too expensive or extreme. Staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is massive so you won't have trouble parking here. Recommended for ladies who love shoes more than men but there are shoes for everyone.

Maybe I could skip the mall?? While I have been to other DSW locations, I had no idea this one existed. Before we get too into this review, I should mention that I REALLY love shoes. I recently did a substantial purge of my collection and even still, mine rivals Imelda Marcos' (if you're a shoe fiend, give her a quick google. You won't be disappointed). I have a problem, but I digress. Today I was on a mission: I needed a pair of neutral pumps... and maybe some ankle boots... and maybe some brown knee-high boots... and maybe... This store is massive! I tried to go up and down all of the aisles but I'm sure I managed to miss something. The selection here is very good and quite well-rounded. You can get some decent deals on higher-end women's shoes (think Nine West at 20% regular price) and you can get even better deals on the lower-end. I ended up trying on at least 5 different pairs of beige pumps before deciding on a favourite, but alas they did not have my size in stock. They did offer to order them in for me but I wasn't that attached an ended up settling for my 2nd favourite. I also took a good look at the boots to see if anything caught my eye. This section was a little less exciting. The selection wasn't great and most of the brands are lower-end. I'd prefer to try and get something higher quality on sale elsewhere. They did have some great deals on Sorels and Cougars though but not in styles that I was looking for. I ended up resisting temptation and passing on the boots. The back of the store features a large clearance section. A friendly sales associate let me know that everything on clearance was an additional 20% off. Score! Again though, nothing really caught my eye. When I was at the checkout, I was excited to find out that the shoes I had chosen were actually an extra 40% off. Great news for me! Overall I was very pleased with my visit to DSW. It's definitely the kind of place I would check out if I am looking for something specific as they have a well-rounded selection and reasonable prices.

I like shoe shopping at The Shoe Company…read more As soon as you walk in, you are surrounded by hundreds of shoes (every girl's dream)! To the right are all the women's shoes and the men's are to the left. They also have some clothing that situated straight in from the door. If you need a new purse, they have those too! I like The Shoe Company because they sell Sketchers. Sketchers are the comfiest shoes on the face of the Earth (at least that I've found so far). They have a great selection of all kinds of shoes. I love the sales racks at the far left corner of the store. They are organized by size and I usually find at least one pair to come home with me! I haven't had mush experience with the staff here - I usually do my own thing. I kind of see it as a shoe warehouse so I just look around and find my own sizes (all of the boxes are on the floor so it's expected of you). I love shoes so I love The Shoe Company!

I walked out with flats, heels, and a new Matt & Nat purse. Oops! It's like the Winners of shoe stores. The boxes show the store's price and the suggested retail price - their price is always lower. And if you find the item for lower somewhere else, they'll give you that price and 10% off! I also love that the shoes are all out on the shelves so you don't need to have a sales associate running back and forth for you. On a day when I just want to go shopping in peace and not talk to anyone, this is my first and only stop. Go here. You won't regret. Even your wallet won't. Win-win!

Review is for the past few years of warehouse sales (online & in person). However, I've loved their…read moreshoes & boot styles since they were on Whyte Ave. My cousin & my friend (who I was shipping with today) have bought various pairs over the years. Swears by their longevity & I actually bought my oxfords in a previous sale because my friend talked about how awesome they were to walk with every time I seen them on her. I unfortunately haven't been into Southgate mall, let alone their retail store in a very, very long time. Mostly due to my mobility issues I find the huge walking distance from the closest parking hard on me & have difficulty of walking on the special flooring towards their store (I find I'm slipping when I walk & doesn't matter what shoes I'm wearing). However, if you do get into their store, the staff are always very helpful & willing to set up an appointment to properly measure your feet (as a lot of times as indicated in other reviews, not all sizes are available to try on). Sometimes you can custom order shoes too but the measuring is usually done so in the case of my friend who has many different toes of their shoes, knees what would fit best when the sale comes around. Staff have always answered questions in-person & by phone politely. Today was no different. I needed (for accessibility reasons) to avoid the stairs & have another option on entering the sale floor. Everyone was very accommodating regarding that need & if you're in the same situation, I would advise go directly to the door they're calling the exit. As that is where the ramp is & the staff can check your ticket there just as well as the staff member at the other entrance. I really do love supporting local businesses & I like that they're trying their best to provide alternative shoe shopping options (like the in-person warehouse sale & online feature sales), various fabric & colours on the footwear & various style choices. However, I made a comment today that most of the shoe styles are fitting so much smaller than I thought they would. At first I thought it was my swollen feet (darn heat!) but it ended up being a conversation with my friend and the other ladies around us. It wasn't only me. The shoes are all fitting at least a full size smaller than normal. For some a size & a half. Everyone around us was sizing up at least a full size to try & figure out their fit. There were so many wonderfully pretty heels, flats, mules & boots but if you're spending this amount money, even on sale prices, you want to know you can wear them. For reference, I normally buy at other shoe stores a size 10/10.5. That depends if the shoe is fully enclosed, has straps, has a softer/harder structure &/or how the toe is shaped. Rarely do I buy a 11 as I don't wear really high heels anymore. Definitely surprised when a 11.5 fits me. But today I was trying 12's like that was always my shoe size. So odd but that's how things were created for this year I guess. For the online special sale I participated in a few winters ago, I did a lot of reading about the shoes (as I couldn't go into the store to try things before the sale) & wisely sized up with the shape of the toe & the reviewer comments. So I have gold-like oxfords & a fancier looking, thick pebbled black leather flats that are holding up well (almost for 2 years). Those I bought 11 & 11.5, again from reviewer suggestions & toe shape. I'm happy with those sizes. This wearhouse sale I bought a pair of sandals & flats. They're lovely on my feet, even in the swollen state (very important I can walk as comfortably as possible due to my mobility). Personally, I think pretty shoes should make you not only feel good to wear them but they should be good for your feet too. So I'm happy with my new purchases to add to my collection & will have to remember to really size up if I participate in any future online feature sales or wearhouse events. If you do go to the wearhouse sale, go prepared with types of shoes you'd like to try, maybe even snoop out the reviews about sizing & have an open mind about trying different styles as well as sizing up. You might be surprised like I was how much better the shoe fits. This event was ticketed; you have to have $2 to reserve your spot online. They timed by hour intervals and basically made whomever was in that time slot leave at the end before the next group is allowed to enter (from the huge flight of stairs or in my case, from the exit where the ramp was located). Other products for sale - tights, purses, wallets, leather /or like-leather products, Tofino towels & Kara jewlery (I think only anklets) & also for purchase shoe care products. The ladies at the tills were processing sales quickly & were friendly. We got free shoe bags for our purchases too. Parking is free but limited available spots along & behind building. FYI that street directly where the warehouse is located has construction happening.
