A group of 4 adults and five kids ranging from 4 to 13, we all enjoyed this place more than we thought we would. When you look at at the website that does not do it justice, you go hmm interesting. You will leave thinking woah I coul spend more time here. You get your entry tickets in the main building and they give you a key and a map. You go out to a big fenced area and the building are set in a giant rectangular pattern and you can walk to them one by one. 5 cabins have lock that the key operates and you can go inside. The others have a glass door and a light switch outside which you can turn on and peer inside. They all have a little info plaque outside as well so you can learn about the history. This probably doesn't sound as interesting as it actually is to be there. The cabins you can go into really take your tour to another level. The whole setting is fantastic. Definitely make time to go here if you are in the area. It's about 45 minutes to go through the whole thing and entry is cheap..you can spend more time if you want as well. There is no limit.

I am SO glad I had the opportunity to visit the museum before it closed to the public. My grand daughter, who is almost 3, loves bugs more than dinosaurs and was thrilled seeing them all. They have nearly every console and you can play almost all of them or at least something from each era. The giant pong game is an absolute must for geeks of all ages. I could spent another couple of hours in there if the lil one would have been willing. Your admission includes 4 tokes and you can play some classics and little known arcade games. This is not anything compared to Pinballz or Game Preserve, but it is a fun addition and we enjoyed it.

Parking is easy, it's next to the library so no charge to park and all access is flat. Overall it's a good visit but will only occupy 1-2 hours.

The Audie Murphy Museum is one of those landmarks you pass through Greenville off I-30. This is a wonderful informative museum. A very special place that lends a glimpse into the life of not only a hero that needs to be remembered & the most decorated soldier of WWII. It features one of the largest privately owned collections of U.S. veteran and actor Audie Murphy. There is a tribute wall to those currently serving the military from this area. I'm very glad we stopped. The Cotton Museum is interesting which I thoroughly enjoyed for my father retired from the Cotton Council. Much of the museum preserves the local history too. The museum just added a rare collection of personal items that belonged to Desmond Doss (Hacksaw Ridge), Gen. George C. Marshall, Gen. George S. Patton, Gen. Jimmy Doolittle, Audie Murphy, Adm. John D. Bulkeley, Maj. Richard I. Bong, and Cmdr. David McCampbell. I really enjoyed the exhibit. Highly recommend, you won't regret it!!

Farming history, period clothing, a 1906 Cadillac, and all sorts of displays. The Audy Murphy section includes not only things about his life and exploits but also many military displays covering the World Wars, Korea, and Vietnam. The museum sits off westbound I-30 and the entry fees are nominal. If time allows, make the stop and enjoy a well put together museum.

Heard offers short and longer nature trails with tons of areas to rest, shade, and signs. Our favorite parts this time were the dragons along the path. Kids from ages 2+ can have a fun time here. Which,it really was back then. Jump forward and civilization has grown right up to the doorstep. However,once you park and enter,another world opens up. They've done a great job of developing the place where you can go and see what north Texas was in its unspoiled condition, as well as participating in organized activities. Such things as flashlight night walks for all ages to the fund raiser I attended today. There's something for everyone especially if you're new to this area.
