This is such an amazing place to bring your kids, and I 100% recommend. I brought my daughter yesterday and we went with a large group of 7 kids ranging from ages 2-9 years old and several adults, we had such a great experience and this place was larger than I expected! The museum is organized very nicely, has multiple attractions such as a real car, a farm area, a "Main Street" complete with a veterinary clinic, restaurant, grocery store, a play house, and hospital for kids to play with. There are so many interactive experiences, and this place is extremely clean and the staff are SO friendly and helpful. I love this place and will definitely be returning with my daughter again soon! read more

From the moment I walked into the door with my 2yr old great-nephew, I was impressed! Friendly staff member greeted us and gave me the load down on the place. Impressive setup as well as clean! I live in Bonham, so I have a bit of a drive to come here, but it is worth every minute! My granddaughter, who is five years old, absolutely loves it! I'm so glad they have taken safety precautions to disinfect everything so we can come during this strange time of Covid! Wasn't sure what to expect but was visiting from out of town and wanted to treat my 2 & 4 year olds to a fun afternoon. This place is HUGE and full of so many opportunities for a child's imagination to run wild (an actual airplane, retrofit fire truck, an outdoor AND indoor play pirateship were particular favs but there are also areas for kids who love drawing, cars, building and oh so much pretend play). I live in Austin and there is a lot the Thinkery could learn from this place (namely, the layout - a large, single-story warehouse is the perfect space to house a children's museum as the setup allows for free and safe exploration; even with a lot of children, this place felt roomy and with so many exhibits there wasn't a need to wait around for turns on anything). I looked at older reviews and there were plenty of rambunctious but respectful kids around - including my own - and there didn't seem to be any issues with discipline (and this was a Saturday afternoon). In fact, I don't remember seeing any of the staff in the play area at all and they were clear about their rules when we arrived so I do encourage anyone reading this to stop by. My kids would have spent all day there if they could have! read more

Since they've moved to their new location, it seems they are working diligently to continue adding new things for the kids to experience and to enjoy. They also have open spaces so kids can run and play, and it gives the parents a chance to see their kids become more imaginative in their playtime due to the various activities here. Too bad there aren't more of these around the state. read more

The place itself is FABULOUS! The exhibits are amazing, it's a kids paradise. The problem is, they aren't allowed to be kids or to engage in imaginative play. If they are playing "incorrectly" with an item, it is taken away and locked up. This included anything being taken from the proper "area", so if kids take fake money from the bank to use at the restaurant, they are reprimanded and the money locked away for the rest of the day. Same if they take a doll for a stroll outside the hospital or walk off the stage in a costume. They are not allowed to push each other on the toy train and I was told my four children had to stay together, one could not be playing in one are while another played elsewhere. I am very saddened by this. We bought a membership, but two out of three visits were this way, so we won't be back and we won't be renewing. read more

This place is kids paradise except for one thing. A kid can't be a kid! I was so excited to see all of the amazing little pretend stations for make believe here. My inner child was screaming omg I would have loooooved this place so much as a kid. There's a restaurant, a veterinarian, a grocery store, a bank, a pirate ship, a dentist, a rocket, an airplane, and much more! Toys too! Everything that is awesome. Actually a lot of the stuff came from the old Science Place in Dallas. But the thing is, if your kid gets a little overly excited or moves a little too quickly (runs) from one activity to the next, trust that the grumpy old ladies will come and reprimand your child. My son had his 6th birthday party there. We and all of his friends made the one hour drive from Dallas to play here. They actually put my child in time out!!! On his birthday!!!! I had no knowledge of this until we were on our way home. I am all for safety and reasonable expectations but seriously, that's a bit much. Especially considering we were the only ones there. And one year later, just the other day we visited again and same deal, we were the only ones there and the boys were corrected several times for being too loud and playing inappropriately. My son was pushing his friend too fast on their little train. So, sigh. It's a great place, I wish the people who worked there remembered the joy of childhood and weren't so uptight! But I guess it's called a "museum" for a reason. read more
