I am very happy with my new roller shades. The service was terrific....Paula Davitch was on top of my order from start to finish. Duane installed them yesterday...he was on time, very efficient, and most important, he made sure that everything looked and worked perfectly. Well done all around! Shade Store SoHo NY sold me this Roman shade. Immediately, the string broke. They replaced it twice. It continues to break. So is it the quality of the materials they use or the quality of their work which results in the shade not being able to operate properly from installation? Terrible customer service. Terrible craftsmanship. Glad I've found another provider to replace this terrible shade. read more

What wonderful experience with Naples Shade Shop. Judy Henry was in the showroom when we popped in and was such a tremendous help. We were not sure what direction to go in and she gave us many options (samples) to take home and consider. Then quoted us each option which must have been 10 different quotes. Never pressured but took all our concerns and work out the best choice. She informed us of the entire process so we knew what to expect. Then the installers that arrived we professional knowledgeable and efficient. I couldn't be happier with the results. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. read more

Enjoyed working with Amy Hurley in the Greenwich, CT store who provided first rate service with design ideas, thoroughness and follow through along with her colleagues, both in store and in home with selection, measurement, installation and customer service. An excellent experience, I would use Shade Store again and recommend it to others. read more

I loved my shades but the customer service is terrible. We bought shades for our new house and before we hung them up, we had the change one of the windows and the shades no longer fit by less than a half inch. I emailed Anthony 3 times to see if there was anything we can do and he never even responded. I'm FULLY aware these are custom shades and probably nothing they could do but i just spent a couple thousand dollars with them and no one can even respond to my email? Definitely won't return based on this. UPDATE: I was contacted by Adam at the Shade Store after this review, he was very helpful and responsive. I do think the quality and selection offered at The Shade Store is very good and I will shop there ag read more

The Shade Store might strike you as "pricey" at first, but for once, you get your money's worth!!! I had an issue with a shade I ordered from them some 6 years ago and called them to see what could be done about it. Not only did the sale's person who answered my call do some research to find my original order (Bravo Paula in Portchester), but she told me to my amazement, that they would send someone to fix the issue "at no cost to me"!!! Does that even still exist? It was easy to set up this appointment, and the person who came for the repair (Adrian) was punctual, professional and very competent. He fixed the issue and made my shades work even better. What can I say but "Bravo" to the Shade Store, and their employees. You really stand by your promise! And that is worth a lot! read more

Stay away from getting wood blinds from the shade store. They sold me the wrong color and told me after the purchase., that the color wood was discontinued! They made three set of blinds , they all fit terribly. The last ones had holes in the wood slates and came without the ribbon that was ordered. They ignored my phone calls and letters. I would not recommend them at all. They are totally incompetent. And they could care less about their clients. read more

The product and service was great. I ordered motorized shades for my apartment and I absolutely love them. They are convenient and beautiful. Well worth the investment. After several months one of strings loosened up and the shade could not advance downward on one side. This was because they were hitting the cushions installed after the shades were installed. I called for service. The salesperson facilitated an earlier appointment for the repair and wait for it .........there was no charge for service! The repairman was very knowledgable, competent and polite. He fixed the lose string and adjusted the stop point for the shade. The shade was working perfectly again! I would not hesitate to recommend The Shade Store to any family or friend. read more

We couldn't be happier! For 2 years, we have had 7 perfect shades from the Shade Store but, with our recent house renovation and new windows, the shades were now too wide. So I emailed the Shade Store to ask if the shades could be refitted. To my utter surprise, I was told that new shades would be made and would be free. Free? But that's what happened. A shade installer came, measured and, in a few weeks, new shade replacements arrived! They were installed in an hour or two, and fit perfectly. We are so pleased. No charge at all! We recommend the Shade Store to everyone. read more

I have used The Shade Store for custom roman shades in two of my homes. Truly the best that money can buy. Beautiful workmanship and sharp style. But add to that the amazing customer service, and I am a customer for life. Even though I'm all the way over in San Francisco, Maryanne has been my go-to for questions and needs, even a couple years after purchase. High quality customer service and quality = my vote! read more

Has anyone ever shopped at The Shade Store ? OMG - the totally worse experience! I ordered shade for 3 rooms in December. That was 16 shades and 11 valances. There were so many errors that I have more shades and valance that are wrong than correct ones. This is a project that should have been completed in Mid- January. Here it is almost June and they still can't get it right! How are they still in business? The customer service is the worse - I was pushed off from one rep ti another. They have re-ordered the shades and valances five or six times because the measurements were wrong and the valances were made from a different fabric. How many times do I need someone from the Shade Store in my home? I will be going with another company to finish the shades in my home! read more

The Shade Store did an outstanding job helping me pick the materials for my shades, measuring the windows and installing the shades. Jennifer Kaplan was the designer and Joseph Sahley was the installer. My new master bath looks beautiful with my new shades, and I am completely satisfied. Paula was fantastic! Wonderful customer service and by shades look beautiful!

I worked with the Shade Store on three separate occasions so far. In 2018, I made a purchase at the Bronxville store and, in 2021, I made two separate purchases at the Scarsdale store. All three times, the product was absolutely beautiful and the service fantastic. I did have a better experience working with the Scarsdale store in 2021 though. Lynda is particularly excellent at offering design assistance and she is incredibly patient. I would definitely recommend her. The product is so beautiful. If you are fortunate to find your way to a good sales associate like Lynda, the Shade Store can be a really wonderful experience. read more

I received the swatches from The Shade Store today. I was quite impressed with the promptness, presentation, swatches and catalog. I had questions regarding my swatches so I called the 800 number. I had the pleasure of speaking with Meredith R. She was very knowledgeable of products and gave me excellent alternatives to the swatches I had in question. She was extremely comfortable to talk and it was a great experience. This is coming from a DIY kind of person that doesn't know too much about the shade selection process (besides walking through Lowe's). I must say that I went to "Blinds to Go" in Paramus, NJ. The entire process was rushed and horrible. I will not be returning. I'm glad I googled and found "The Shade Store." I will definitely purchase my shades from you and I will definitely recommend. Sincerely, Terence K. PS. Thanks again Meredith! read more

The Shade Store is one of the most professional, high quality stores that I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with. The customer service is unparalleled. Laura Roth was my particular point of contact and she was absolutely phenomenal. She walked me through every step of the process, clearly communicated what my options were, the costs, and the pros and cons of different types of shades. The people who came to measure and then install the shades were fantastic and very professional. I couldn't have asked for more in my shade buying experience. I endorse The Shade Store to all people looking to add something practical and also pretty to their home. I love my shades, and put them down every night which helps me sleep much better because I have actual dark in my room. They open up so easily in the morning when I want to let in the light. Thank you to The Shade Store for an amazing experience. read more

The shades and curtains we received are excellent, and the professional installation was great. Minus one star for difficulty in scheduling installation. It is hard to reach someone on the hotline, and I ultimately had to talk to three different people before I reached someone who could schedule for my area (Westchester). I also needed to miss work to accommodate the installation schedulers. The technicians have very limited availability on weekends, no evening availability, and it was a 2+ week wait to get the first-thing-in-the-morning appointment. read more

After many hours and much frustration in attempting to order shades for our new home, I was fortunate enough to meet Sonia Wilcott of The Shade Store. That was a GREAT day! Sonia was able to take what seemed to be a very complicated routine and simplified it! She made ordering shades as easy as A-B-C. In just three conversations we were done. Yesterday I was baffled with measurements, materials and types of shades, today with Sonia's help my new roller shades are on order and life is much less stressful. If the stress of window coverings has got you down - You need to meet a SONIA!, just like I did. She can be reached at the Shade store, mention my name and get a free smile. The customer service, installation service, and follow up from the store associates were the best we received compared to other companies we also got a quote from. The selection of materials and fabrics are fantastic and fairly prices for their quality. We also looked at Costco and blinds.com and hands down The Shade Store beat them on every measure with price being the same across all three. read more

I have nothing but positive things to say about The Shade Store's customer service. I have a blackout shade in my bedroom and I was so satisfied with it that I ordered new shades for my living room. I ordered the shades online and when they were delivered, I was dismayed to find that I had stupidly and embarrassingly put the length and width measurements in the wrong boxes. Instead of ordering long and narrow shades, I had ordered wide and short ones. Horrified with myself, I called The Shade Store immediately and instead of making me feel worst than I already did, the customer service representative was super understanding and helpful, and worked with me to figure out a financially-fesible solution to get the correct shades. Most companies would have made me purchase entirely new shades, since it was my own fault, but not The Shade Store -- from my interactions with them, it is very clear that The Shade Store truly cares about customer satisfaction with their product. read more

We love our motorized shades! We used the store on Columbus Ave. in Manhattan. They were very professional and provided excellent service. We have extremely wide windows which required large shades. We were concerned that the size of the shades would hamper the ability of the motor to function properly but the shades have been working beautifully. We highly recommend The Shade Store! read more

Ok!! I have lived Inc NYC for 25 years and have yet to find a company that treat it's customers as well as The Shade Store.. I have had my shades for years and never had a problem and as soon my chain broke from a lot of use. Sharon Fescina (the best) immediately send me a new chain and even scheduled a one time customer home help.. Ok.. I could not change myself the chain, I am not very handy..:) But gotta say, this is an investiment that it is worth it ! I am their customers for life now. Besides their merchandise is really the best. When I first purchased I did a lot of research and The Shade Store was and is the best for your windows and now because of my experience with them in my opinion number one for Costumer care! Totally recommend!!! read more

I will not only return for my next project but this merchant will be recommended to all that will listen. Yes, their product is great but the customer service takes the cake! When a person here says "we stand behind our product," they truly do! Alexandra C. went ABOVE and beyond any customer service I have entertained. The Shade Store keeps very accurate records and responds to emails/calls in the same day in a highly professional manner as well. I initially contacted The Shade Store via Live Chat and spoke with Lori B. When I found out was located in the Port Chester store I then made a visit; however, she welcomed me to visit the SoHo store as well. After placing the order, I worked with Alexandra C. when a slight discrepancy had to be rectified. Again, I cannot speak enough to the professionalism of Alexandra. It is so reassuring to know in this day and age that there are people who will work with you to the end, and Alexandra is one such person. I am very happy with the product - the Ultimate Solar Shade - which I might add, is made in the USA! Cheers to the entire team at The Shade Store!!! Thank you! read more

I purchased Roman shades from Paula at the Shade Store back in October. I want to say how wonderful and helpful she was. She helped me choose several fabrics for my kitchen windows and when I couldn't decide which one to go with, she came to my house to help me. She spent a lot of time helping me select the ones that would look best and they really did! The installers were super nice and helpful. But where I felt they really earned the 5 stars was when my shades came in completely wrong (sizing was way off) - Paula reached out to me immediately -apologizing and re-ordering me a whole new set. The installers called the store while in my home to let them know the treatments were wrong and wouldn't work. In this day and age of most stores blaming the customer and not wanting to take anything back, the Shade Store really came through. I had all new treatments with no additional cost to me. I would highly recommend them and I would definitely use them again. read more

Love my new Roman shades! Ask for Lynn, she was so helpful!

Jennifer understood exactly what we wanted. It was delivered in a short time, and installed by 2 efficient young men. It protects the room from the sun, and looks really good. I recommend this store. read more

We only ordered one roman shade for our bathroom. But our experience was quick and painless. The only reason I'm not giving a full 5 stars is because I was told I would have the shade within 7-10 days, but it was more like two weeks. Not sure what happened there. Other than that, LOVED the customer attention and follow through. read more

We purchased a new home with LOTS of windows. It's modern architecture and we added a lot of personalization. Our first order of custom blinds came from a competitor of The Shade Store and it was an expensive disaster. I am so glad we only did the master bedroom with them! Being stung once we decided to do a small order with The Shade Store. Our representative Nissy was patience, understanding and knowledgeable. When she didn't know the answer she took the time to find out. The order came in and was much easer to install than our previous order was... And the mounting hardware was clean, elegant and simple; no need for us to want to cover it up. After mounting we had two minor issues and Nissy was able to put us in touch with someone at The Shade Store who knew the simple fix and provided it in a PDF which was incredibly easy to understand. We just placed a second order of some very unique roller blinds which match the bold colors in our home perfectly. Nothing any of their competitors had even come close to this solution. We are very excited about this order and know if there are any problems The Shade Store will have us covered. read more

My wife and i loved the experience we had with The Shade Store. Every person we spoke to was very patient and helpful. Their customer service was absolutely flawless. Nissy especially. She listened to everything that we needed and helped us make the decisions that worked best for us. Her knowledge made things quick and easy. With all the options and combinations that there are, this was hugely valuable and appreciated. This is the only place that I will ever go for window coverings in the future. read more

Liz from The Shade Store in Port Chester has been a pleasure to work with. She patiently worked with me via email on a few window design treatments. She provided me with expert advice. She did not waver when it took me an ungodly amount of time ( 8 months) to decide on the treatments for a home office. Her recommendations were excellent. She sent me many renderings so I could see what the actual finish product would look like. Her customer service was outstanding! I wish I used her and The Shade Store when I was dressing my bedroom windows and not a local person. The Shade Store has modern fabrics and something to fit your personal taste. They do not have an agenda like the local "designers". I will use Liz and The Shade Store for future projects. Thanks Liz! read more

Just moved into our new home in Hastings On Hudson - after a 15-month gut renovation - so the window treatments were very important. Karen Kline at The Shade Store was brilliant at helping us find what we wanted - fabric, type of shade, and getting everything just right. And now we are all set. I'd highly recommend The Shade Store for anyone's window treatment needs, and the showroom at Port Chester is a fabulous place to see everything in one place, especially if you don't really know what you're doing (which I didn't)! read more

Great products and service. John assisted us with all the window treatments for our new condo. He is knowledgeable about his products and installation. This is our 3rd home with window treatments from The Shade Store! Installation is easy and fast. Love The Shade Store...found them last year online....they immediately sent me a catalog and all the samples I requested. Because of a minor setback I was unable to finish my project of new window treatments till a year later. I than started shopping and had another company come to the house to give me a quote...I showed them what I wanted from the catalog...well they had very few choices to choose from...and the cost was unbelievable!! I decided to go back to The Shade Store only to be pleasantly surprised that they had opened up a show room downtown! I immediately went down to take a look and loved what I saw.....a huge showroom with so many choices! I med with Trina and picked out what I had chosen a year earlier. And the cost was $1900.00 less than the other company!! Wow!!! They were delivered to the house and we had installed two days ago.....I am so pleased!! Exactly what I had envisioned!
