Crooked shade installation

This store and a specific sales rep were highly recommended by a salesperson from an upscale furniture store. At first I was disappointed at the very limited selection of fabrics. I had brought a sample I ordered from them the previous year that I liked a lot, but it was discontinued. So I settled on some ok fabrics that I do not love. Yes their prices and promotions are outstanding. But you get what you pay for, right? I was unimpressed with their installer who neglected to hand me any literature (I found the warranty flyer on the floor) and didn't inform me about a specific option that was available to me. The night of the install I discovered that one of the shades rolls down crookedly in a very obvious way (this didn't happen when he was here). It doesn't fully cover the window. I emailed and called my sales rep but was unavailable when he called back and now I can't seem to reach him at all to schedule a service call. Also one collection of shades has all kinds of loose threads sticking out. I pointed this out to the installer and he said I should cut them. So that's 4 windows that I have to trim. Not pleased that they look so unfinished. Plus the crooked one. I do not recommend this company.

I've purchased blinds and window treatments from Blinds to Go in Hartsdale on a few occasions. I have always found their customer representatives and installers to be professional, courteous, and extremely helpful. They have numerous products in every category, and at various price levels which is very helpful, and their warranties offer exceptional long term value. I will have no problem using them again in the future when the need arises.

Blinds To Go was FANTASTIC! They just installed a big project in my home - custom shutters for eight windows and blinds for two patio doors. I couldn't be happier! Georgina, my sales rep, answered all my questions and replied promptly whenever I reached out. Anton, the installer, showed up exactly when scheduled, and his crew was here for hours, fine-tuning the shutters to fit perfectly. BTG's price beat everyone else's estimate (I also had a $500 move-in coupon and shopped during their March sale), but the greatest convincer was the fact that Blinds To Go manufactures their products at their own factories in the U.S. (Their competitors' shutters are manufactured in China and are now subject to tariffs and delays.) My shutters were ready to install just a couple of weeks after the order was placed. My BTG experience was great in every way. Highly recommended!

DO NOT GO. Blinds to Go in Hartsdale is a horrible place to Go. I feel the overall company is a shame. I don't know from where to start. Customer Service is horrible. please stay away from this shop. I ordered my blinds, I got no email about it, after 2 months I tried following up for it, they said they are here and they delivered. The master bedroom blinds, were a disaster. They took it out and in-spite of the promise that the new blinds will come within 3 days, it took 2 weeks and after constant follow ups, they came to put it. The shop never answers phone calls, even if you leave 100 messages, they never reply back. The lady Nancy never reverted my phone and messages. Please do not put your time into this shop, there are much better options in market, its not even cheap. Pls see pictures, no alignment and a huge gap between the 2. Light is clearly coming in.

DO NOT UTILIZE. A TRULY WRETCHED BUSINESS…read more We have used Kanters on three occasions. The first two times were fine, which is why we went back a third time. The third time was a disaster and they could not have been less accountable or less accommodating. In short, Kanters sent us the wrong colored LVT flooring, which even if we were willing to accept it, was defective and not capable of being installed. In any event, my wife and I were immediately willing to accept a different color LVT flooring that Kanters had in stock so that our construction was not set back weeks (we still had to pay our contractor for two days of work reserved to install this flooring, which now could not occur). Rather than doing what was necessary to immediately deliver this new LVT flooring, Kanters said it did not have staff to do that but eventually "agreed" to allow my wife and I to do all the manual labor ourselves (picking up 25 boxes weighing 60+ lbs each). Making it almost comical, Kanters had the gall to ask that we also bring back the 25 boxes of wrong colored and defective flooring so that they could get their money back from the manufacturer (which we did). Thus, my wife and I performed a half day of manual labor to correct Kanters' mistake because, apparently, they do not have adequate staff. When we asked for a credit, this is a quote from Brian Kanter: "These type of positions are the reasons that most small business no longer exists in our world. For some reason society has the belief that perfection exists and that a manufacture never makes a defective product or sends the wrong product. I wish that was the case but it's just a fantasy." Mr. Kanter went on to equate us transporting 50 boxes of extremely heavy flooring to the time he had to return a broken TV to Best Buy. In other words, don't expect that what you get will be what you ordered or even correct. In the end, the "credit" they offered was that they were not going to charge us extra for having to pick new carpet to match the different colored flooring (something he admitted they otherwise normally do). I think the moral is shop here at your own risk. If everything goes fine they are a run of the mill flooring company. They hardly answer their phones and take days to respond to emails. But, if things go poorly, you better expect that they will shift the blame to their manufacturer and/or to you. They will not be out of pocket - you will (just as we are).
