We attended the Christmas Cocktail Crawl at Ripples Winery Events, this November, purchasing tickets for a VERY reasonable price. IT WAS EXCELLENT!! It was a great start to the Christmas season, with the entire venue decorated beautifully with Christmas trees lit up in fairy lights, country charm decor, cozy fire pits and quality live music. None of us drink alcohol so we chose the DD tickets. An assortment of delicious appetizers and wonderful non-alcoholic mocktails (as well as alcoholic cocktails) and beverages were served at 12 different 'stations'. We wandered about, enjoying the ambiance, listening to great music, choosing our appetizers and beverages, and receiving the most excellent service from all the people who worked the event. A huge "thank you" to Caroline and Chris, as well as to the whole team, whose creativity and hospitality shone through every part of the event. We enjoyed every moment. We will DEFINITELY go again next November. It's a very popular event so plan early for next Christmas. It's a good idea to make a reservation and purchase tickets for any of their events early, when they advertise for next year. We attended a wedding here at the Secret Garden today and what a beautiful venue!! It is rustic, pretty and very lush with a plethora of tropical trees! Having the roof over the space was great as it did rain but they will still able to maintain the open air feeling. I absolutely love the covered fire area where you can sit with a glass of wine and get some fresh air! The ceremony and reception were in the same space with a quick turn around in between. There is a really great room for cocktails and appies for guests that would prefer to stay in between the ceremony and reception! The location is a bit remote but only 10 mins to some great restaurants in Abbotsford for those that want to grab a bite in between! Would highly recommend this venue...it's beautiful! read more

GO LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE! This venue is very over priced for the poor service you get. Rude staff and the owner is even worse, she must be mentally checked out because she just does not care anymore. The bathrooms are dirty and hard to find, the drinks are overpriced, its hard to locate, they charge for every little thing and other vendors prefer not to use them, so that says a lot. read more

It seems like i am not the only one being frustrated by this venue as we come out of this pandemic. My daughters wedding is booked at the venue for July 2nd and until yesterday we had heard no word back from the venue until we were sent a final invoice and told a 50 person wedding was going to be held. We asked if we could postpone as a months notice to hold the wedding is not enough and as family cant travel then it would be pointless. Having 50 people there is not what we contracted for. I offered to be very flexible with the postponement. This was flatly denied. Not even considered. I then asked for a partial refund of the $4,500 already paid. Again, flatly refused without consideration. I have no option now but to waste further resources even though a more sensible, amicable and collaborative solution was there to be found. Coming out of this pandemic I am sure we have all learnt that "be kind" is a mantra we should all adopt but sadly lacking for some businesses who would rather to exploit the position the pandemic has placed us in than work towards a kinder, more better way. read more

Attended a wedding last night at the Secret Garden. I was blown away by how rude and un accommodating the staff was. Service was slow and the staff did not seem to care to provide a fun experience to its guests. I am one half of a homosexual couple and have never been treated with such prejudice. At one point I ordered a whisky sour and overheard one of the waitresses ( an older brown haired woman in her late 40's ) say to another waitress " I thought fa**otts only drank wine spritzers ". This Secret Garden does not belong in the love/marriage business with such a narrow minded attitude. Worst wedding experience of my life !! Will never go back. read more

I thought this was the perfect venue for my wedding last year, we booked the venue for 120 people and due to covid..we postponed to 2021 hoping the restrictions would be lifted. Over the last year, I have been very disappointed in how the owner has communicated and dealt with what was happening. We were not included in a discount that was offered last year and are unable to postpone a 2nd time or cancel our date. Even notifying them several months in advance..I've even tried offering other solutions which the company ignored or refused. They will not refund your deposit and will charge in full for 50 person max for 2021. How come other venues have been flexible and understanding allowing cancellations, refunds or postponements with other brides and this one completely does not. Just be careful when booking this venue, as there is zero flexibility for any changes..(I also agree with the 1 star review below) very disappointed in the customer service:( (venue is lovely though) read more
