Mountain View.

Pros: location is excellent, right on the beach walk with good parking behind. Room setup is great for a long stay with separate bed area and living/kitchen facilities. Nicely furnished with good amenities. We had a Mountain View over the parking lot and town. Cons: steep cement stairs are hard to navigate to get bags into hotel. Fire doors on stairs don't close well. Walls and windows are thin, so we heard people upstairs, outside in parking lot and hot tub.

Early-am view of the hotel from down on the beach.

It was back to Harrison Hot Springs recently, and we lodged here our first night. Like last year, we arrived during another very busy & active weekend in Harrison -- it was Sunday, and the second day of the '2018 Sasquatch Days' -- unexpected, but yeah!! lots of fun and excitement to catch our attention for much of the day. As during previous stays at Harrison Beach, we had chosen a Mountain View room -- they're located on the back side of the hotel, and for us, are quite perfect - offering up some familiar city views in the foreground, mountain peaks in the background, and providing more peace & quiet than the Lake View rooms located on the front side. We were located one floor down from the top this time - a room we had stayed in before - and high enough to have a nice view from our balcony. The room and amenities provided no surprises - as during previous stays, everything was there, and in order. Note: the rooms are large, beds are very comfy, and having the weiting desk & chair, and dining table & chairs, adds a big plus to the overall comfort. Desk staff, as per past stays, were friendly, personable, and accommodating. Another great stay -- enjoyed our room, it's amenities and balcony, plus, the pool and hot tub downstairs. Wish we had planned to stay longer, but heh, that's to be put into the planning of our next Harrison trip. Looking forward to it!!

The Panoramic view from 3rd floor LakeView Suite. Beautiful!

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon in the Lake View Suite. Make sure you get a room on the lake view side of the hotel, as the mountain view side is the side of a nearby building. The lake view on the other hand is BEAUTIFUL! Amazing view, the staff was pleasant and friendly. The room was clean, the place had all the amenities we wanted/needed. And a bit more than we expected. Our room came with a small kitchen that consists of a microwave, mini fridge, toaster and hot water heater. It also had plates, utensils and even some bakingware. I would highly recommend this place both for the view, the service, and the fact it was quiet, not overly busy, and relaxing.

Requested swans and they truly delivered!!

Decent hotel. Don't bother with the Mountainview rooms if you can get a lake view. No comparison.

We got the lake view suite which was pretty much like a studio apartment with a huge patio.

Harrison Village Motel - The sign is covered up with bushes

Harrison Village Motel

This is a family run motel situated in front of the man-made lagoon in Harrison. You are right next…read moreto places like Red Fort Restaurant and Lakefront Cafe. This is not a bad location considering everything is walking distance. Moreover, we were able to find free parking easily (free after 7pm spots directly in front of motel). The cost totalled $522, two nights, for a two bedroom (four queen sized beds), full kitchen (stove, fridge, sink, with muffin tin and tiny baking sheet, frying pan), and two bathrooms. Moreover, they marketed that they charge an extra $65 approx for each additional person. $89(per night) x 2 nights = $178 $68 x 5 = $325 This concept of charging per additional person makes little sense, as they purposefully gave us four beds. It appears they charge per person, on top of the cost of the suite. I was also told that if the suite wasn't clean, they would charge us an additional $75 penalty. Now, this place is extremely dirty. Our bathroom sink was stained with rust, there was dirt all along the moulding of the suite. The sheets would make your skin itch. The suite smelled of mould, and would soon smell of sweat and feel muggy, as it gets very hot. A friend of mine walked into the sliding door (knee first) and instantly smashed the single pane window. My friend had to have 6 stitches on their forehead. When the paramedic arrived, he was baffled at how this had occurred as single pane windows are not regulation. I bet he is expecting to be coming back here in the near future for another poor guest that will need stitches. The Wife of the owner asked us to put up cardboard boxes for the remainder of our trip. Afterwards, she said that she under charged us at $432 and would need to charge us an additional $87. This is shady because it happened shortly after we broke the glass. We were never given garbage bags to clean our suite. We were not given toilet paper either. I understand that we are trying to save a dollar by going to this Motel, but basic living materials should not be some thing we have to ask for. The outlets were virtually none existent. There's a clock radio, lamp, fan and there are only two outlets that are inconveniently placed in the bedroom. We ended up desperately using these outlets to charge our phones. The Wifi also does not work in the bedrooms. My friends and I came here to swim in the lake and party in Harrison. A friend of mine fell in the bath tub (no shower mat) at 11pm and the Wife knocked on our door and asked what was going on. We told her our friend accidentally fell. The Wife then replied, "no noise after 11pm" -- on a Friday night? We weren't even playing music. Like I said earlier, this is family run, so there does come some shame as you're playing competitive beer pong at 9pm, and you know the Owner's children are sleeping downstairs. I don't think we will be returning to this motel, specifically, even though we had a wonderful time and created tons of fun memories. There are nicer places in Harrison, ones that would match the price you are paying; cleaner and would not have arbitrary charges on your bill. This is simply not the nicest motel. For that amount, you may be better off checking into a Hotel or head on camping to Sasquatch.

As for the motel itself, it is very outdated, like its still in the late 70s or early 80s. Our room was clean but I found a towel hanging behind the bathroom door. I had a feeling it shouldn't have been there. Free wi-fi though not the greatest. Overall it was a decent stay here.

The goods: cheap,$88, the views r spectacular, conveniently situated on a beautifully landscaped park/beach, within immediate walking distance to Harrison Hot Springs pool, restaurants, shops and outdoor activities. The only hotel staff I saw was the sweet cleaning lady who asked us if we needed help with anything, she did in fact, clean our room diligently and put the best possible spin on our old dank room. Toiletries were industry standard, budget and professionally maintained and presented. I appreciated her genuine concern and attempted repair of things beyond her control. The not so good: Some of the restaurants directly on Esplande r dicey at best and r $$$.The Hot Spring Villa Hotel restaurant was lack-lustre to say the least and not economical. As per their signage the hotel restaurant is/was 'Swiss inspired?' Swiss¿?! SWISS MISS maybe! U can clearly see my fish & chips were warmed up in a microwave or steamer causing the once crispy battered fish to become limp and soggy literally falling off the side of my sad plate.Security at Hot Springs Villa was more of a 'token' mock security system as we had to enter and exit our room from the sketchy dimly lit rear parking lot as there is no access to the hotel from the back dungeons in the rear. Peace of mind was not what this hotel was presenting with the abandoned rooms off the dimly illuminated parking lot,the ground level rooms with minimally secure single pane windows with a mere tab for security, a vulnerable room door with one working lock due to obvious damage from a previous forced entry. This does not instill comfort or peace of mind. Our room was in my opinion lazily neglected as evident from our pictures clearly showing the state of disrepair of our bathtub faucet and tub corrosion. We also noticed the sneaky cheap cover up of holes behind 2 paintings. Scary.Js.I truly felt safer in a hostel. No a fan,...at all. Not secure, sketchy and very low standards with no concern for the customers safety.

Firstly, We'd like to suggest that the owners retire from the business of running a Motel & RV…read morepark. They have poor attitudes towards their guests needs. On checkin you are greeted firstly with a sign stating 'ABSOLUTELY NO REFUNDS'. Way to roll out the red carpet folks. That really set the tone of the trip. The chap behind the counter seemed confused at my attempts to announce my arrival and claim my reservation. After deciding he couldn't understand my accent he listed off all the reservations and I pointed out the one that was mine, which I'd already said clearly several times. Confusion continued where one of our reservations had been given away to someone else without our knowledge. This culminated in several exchanges with the surly lady in charge of reservations calling us names and refusing to take any action either for us or for the poor unsuspecting punters they'd double booked on one of our plots. By chance another plot was vacant, but what if it wasn't? We were all SOL apparently. Secondly, the Motel itself should be retired too - the amount of work to bring the rooms themselves up to the standard of the nightly asking price of $125+ would probably be best spent tearing the place down. The rooms are outdated and shabby. I think they call it 'rustic'. I like rustic and am happy to pay for rustic, but this is just cheap 70s decor seeking an update 40 years later. The mattress was hard and uncomfortable, the kitchen completely absent of utensils (you buy them in the office), the bathroom had a barely flushing toilet and a shower that switched between scalding and freezing every 10 seconds. Storage space is not really available in the bathroom and drawers in the bedroom are filled with additional bedding. The room does have A/C but this is loud and blows directly at your head in the bed, rather than circulating in the room. The location is pretty good. Nearby to all the local attractions and amenities. The main road it sits adjacent to is very loud however. TL;DR The motel staff are rude, and the prices too high to justify the basic standard of the room.

Overall the place was clean, hotel is updated and not as run down as some of the other hotels around Harrison. You have to keep in mind this is a very small town and if you wanted a full resort/hotel feel then your only option is Harrison Hot Springs resort down the end of the block. We chose this because it was more of a apartment feel with a full kitchen and living room so our family could hang out. Location is excellent, one block away from the beach. Apartment was spacious. There are things they could improve on though. There is only one staffing person in the office with limited authority. She was nice and friendly but she has no access to the electronic door locks so when we couldn't go into our room, she needed to message someone else and wait for them to reply to give us access for us to go into our room. They are also very frugal with amenities. We were only provided 1 face towel, 2 hand towel, and 2 bath towels for 6 guests. No daily top ups for shampoo or soap or any amenities so bring your own. If you plan to cook, bring your own cookware and stuff because there is only 2 bowls in the kitchen, limited cooking utensils and no plates. They do have a full stove, microwave, coffee maker, fridge and toaster. For the price that they charge per night, I just feel they could be less stingy. Pictures is also a little deceiving. This is a one level apartment and not two levels as shown on Airbnb sites. We ended up booking through booking.com because it's cheaper than Airbnb. Overall, it is a decent apartment and we would stay here again but next time, we will be prepared to bring our own cookware and toiletries.
