We left Kelowna at 8 am , drove the Coquihalla, Connector in winter conditions. Then visited family in Langley and back to Harrison Hot Springs. Several hours of driving and we were tired and looking forward to relaxing in the hot pools. At 4:30 we arrived and were already an hour and a half past our 3 pm check in time. The check in person just flicked her wrist saying go for a walk or dinner and we'll message you when your room is ready. I explained that were had driven many hours and were tired. She said maybe she could find another room. Flicked her hand again saying go for a walk or dinner. It was pitch black outside . I said we would just wait. While we were waiting I though to check out the pool. Couldn't access the pool without a fob. Waited half an hour. Now 5 pm, 2 hours past our check in time. A lovely valet helped us bring our luggage up to the room. I heard noise coming from our room and therefore didn't opened the door so knocked on the door instead. Another family was in the room. We had been sent to a room that was already in use. Back down to the front desk with the check in people , now 2 of them claiming it wasn't their fault. We were offered a 15 percent discount. So almost two and a half hours after our check in time we finally had a room. Side note. We were cold with only an extremely thin comforter. Asked for a blanket the 2nd night and received an equally thin blanket. No cleaning service, no new towels or refill of the coffee pods. The pools themselves were nice. Be aware that you may receive poor check in service , run down hotel but pleasant outdoor heated mineral.

My husband and I are return clients of Lisa's farmstead! I like to call it her Farmstead Empire !…read more I came this time to check out the tiny house she told me last year she was building. I came for a retreat to do some writing. Lisa outdid herself ! Everything from the amazing comfortable bedding to the amenities (hot tub , grill, dog friendly ) to the darn kitchen sink ! Every touch of elegance by Lisa is truly a work or art. The Oostemas are some of the hardest working people I know and coming to their property feels like coming to a home away from home. The stay here is priceless whether you're in their glamper, their bottom level suite or their tiny house. (They also have rv parking and camping) Any option you go with you'll be glad you did. This is the true feeling of farm life is captured here which has stolen my heart ! One day when I have kids I will bring them here ! Thank you again Lisa and Glen. We will be back.

The owners are very nice people. It's a working farm with raspberry fields to walk thru and animals to visit in the barn. The pig and the goat were particularly fun to feed. They have black angus and wagyu beef for sale as well as fresh eggs. When we were there they also had the most delicious blueberries I've ever purchased for $1/basket. The sites are mostly full hookups in a flat grassy area with a picnic table and fire ring for each. You can also boondock here. There's a ton of stuff to do in this beautiful area including the tap trail for beer lovers. Lynden is a very charming town that worth seeing. There is a museum as well as historic walking tours of the cemetery. People picking up their new Escape travel trailers often stay here, so it's fun to see the new ones arriving.

I've been trying to come up with one word to describe the area and I can't! It's peaceful, relaxing, beautiful, amazing, lovely, just everything you would want to experience on a week-end get-a-way. I would suggest staying a week! We went exploring on Saturday, our first stop was the small town of Glacier just 4 miles up the road. We stopped at the little Grocery store, to pick up a few supplies. They have espresso!! If you order it before you shop they bring it to you while you shop. Also, ice cream on the cone. There's an adorable 2nd hand store, they sell homemade soaps and candles as well. I Love this town! Leaving Glacier we headed toward Nooksack falls just 7 miles further up the road. Breathe taking view. I watched the Deer Hunters movie a few weeks ago, and I knew that the Nooksack falls were featured in the hunting scene of the movie. Did Meryl Streep and Robert DeNiro walk the same path as we did??? Probably not, but it's still absolutely worth the stop, it's beautifully dangerous. Back on the one way road to Mt, Baker Highway, then 14 miles to Artist Point, located at the very end of Mount Baker Highway. I felt a little intimidated on the road to artist Point, it's only about 3 miles long and with the switchbacks it's crazy exciting and lovely winding up more than 5000 feet above sea level as you arrive at the top. Yes, it boasts 360-degree views of Mount Shuksan and Mount Baker. All of this, just 22 miles from the Sasquatch Mountain Hideaway cabin. We climbed a short distance to an open area, and had lunch in the snow, on a beautiful August afternoon. What do you do when you didn't bring a sled? Well you use your coat and you go Coatesbogganing! We returned to the cabin, and started the grill. We had Grilled salmon, salad, baked potato and white wine, all out on the balcony. A very pleasant non-exhausting day. This mountain hideaway features a gourmet kitchen, private bedrooms; lovely bathrooms, leather sofas big screen TV's and choice of movies, or bring your own. If you wish they have big foot slippers to wear around the cabin, and much more. This cabin is perfectly located for enjoying every season for any reason, I love our beautiful Great Northwest. The Sasquatch Mountain Hideaway makes it easy.

We stayed at this hotel on the 4th floor, 3 bed 2 bath hotel for a little get away this week for 2…read morenights. Overall the place was clean, hotel is updated and not as run down as some of the other hotels around Harrison. You have to keep in mind this is a very small town and if you wanted a full resort/hotel feel then your only option is Harrison Hot Springs resort down the end of the block. We chose this because it was more of a apartment feel with a full kitchen and living room so our family could hang out. Location is excellent, one block away from the beach. Apartment was spacious. There are things they could improve on though. There is only one staffing person in the office with limited authority. She was nice and friendly but she has no access to the electronic door locks so when we couldn't go into our room, she needed to message someone else and wait for them to reply to give us access for us to go into our room. They are also very frugal with amenities. We were only provided 1 face towel, 2 hand towel, and 2 bath towels for 6 guests. No daily top ups for shampoo or soap or any amenities so bring your own. If you plan to cook, bring your own cookware and stuff because there is only 2 bowls in the kitchen, limited cooking utensils and no plates. They do have a full stove, microwave, coffee maker, fridge and toaster. For the price that they charge per night, I just feel they could be less stingy. Pictures is also a little deceiving. This is a one level apartment and not two levels as shown on Airbnb sites. We ended up booking through booking.com because it's cheaper than Airbnb. Overall, it is a decent apartment and we would stay here again but next time, we will be prepared to bring our own cookware and toiletries.
