Composting worms getting acclimated to their new home

I had a great experience with this business. It's a small/family set up. We chatted by text a bit and set up a time for pick up. The owner was super helpful and gave me some tips for starting my compost-worm bin. The whole thing was easy and this is the only place in the area that I could find where I could get worms locally (I wasn't wanting to go the Amazon route).

Nicole is extremely friendly and knowledgeable, I was very pleasantly surprised with how big the worms are.

The nursery is beautiful, well-stocked, and had a great variety of flowers to choose from. They also had a nice sale on vegetable plants, which made it easy to pick up a few extras without breaking the budget. Since I'm new to gardening, I wasn't quite sure where to start, so I spent some time researching plants as I walked around. One thing to keep in mind is that there isn't staff available throughout the nursery to answer questions, and quite a few plants didn't have labels. If you're looking for specific guidance, I'd recommend calling ahead or doing a little research while you're there. Overall, the prices were fair, the parking lot was a decent size, and the selection was fantastic. I enjoyed taking my time exploring everything and will definitely be back to see what new plants they have in stock! A great spot for plant lovers, especially if you enjoy browsing and discovering new varieties.

But when the guy brought it he told me that he wouldn't put it in the hole that I dug, even though they told me they would put it anywhere I wanted. *THERE WAS NO MENTION OF THEM NOT PUTTING IT IN A HOLE!* I even said to the salesperson that I had to hurry home and get it dug. They had SEVERAL OPPORTUNITIES to let me know that they in fact WOULD NOT put it anywhere I wanted, as they told me they would. I'm a disabled person who had a stroke there's absolutely no way that I can move this thing by myself. This is where the delivery driver left it. So they totally lied to me about it and took my money and left me with no way to get this in the hole. I really liked the place because it had a nice selection but their customer service is poor. 2 of the 3 employees that I interacted with had bad attitudes and were totally unprofessional. I would steer far far away from this place. I wouldn't have bought this tree had I known that they weren't going to do what they said they would do

Our plans had several interesting species of drought-tolerant plants. We wanted to work with a company that was affordable and had extensive experience. After doing a lot of searching and asking many questions to just about every local garden center, Arise stood out among the rest. Not only are they fairly priced, but the owner (Rigo) was easy to get a hold of and made sure he provided us with all the plant species we asked for. He also delivered them to us with a 24 to 48 hour turn-around time which was important because we needed time to get the plant order in the ground before the rainy season. Literally all other local gardening centers in Chino, Montclair, Claremont, etc...were either standard or limited in their selection, or severely overpriced. Arise is a local business worth supporting because they are in touch with what other gardening centers are failing to provide do-it-yourself landscapers: great advice, accessibility, and the best prices.

I was in luck and found a great variety of indoor and outdoor plants, including a rare variation too (white princess philo)! The atmosphere was calm and clean, just what I want in a garden. Matt helped me pick out some plants to suit different people's needs (i.e. whether someone was just getting into gardening, what's easier to keep alive, etc). He was very knowledgeable and super helpful. So excited to give these out as gifts and will definitely be coming back to shop for myself! Would recommend.

I had always glanced over this location, and on this day happened to be in the market for some soil. The lot was thriving, not too crowded. People were looking about and soon a staff member took the time to show me some of their soil options and potting mixes. I settled on the organic palm and cactus mix. It was not dry upon opening, which I'm glad it was not, so far it's proving to be a fairly good quality. There's still some leftover in the yard. I saw many plants there. They had some pink aloe vera, along with a wide selection of succulents, which was nice to see. I had my eye set on something a little bit different though, an elephant bush. I knew they had some because some of the arrangements included elephant bush. So I just had to ask!Well, to my surprise they were more than happy to give me a longer tour of the southern part of the nursery, where they had far more sizes, big and small. I got to see some gigantic ones that I never expected to encounter in larger pots. Thank you Vic! It goes without saying I was impressed. Speaking about Vic, I just wanna say, many of the staff members were welcoming and went above and beyond to give me what I wanted. I was really impressed with Vic's extensive knowledge on house plants and his ability to help me find the size of this wonderful plant. Where I feel that most sales people would push you to buy a particular one item, Vic offered me choices, which I appreciate 100%. It's safe to say that type of salesmanship demands respect, and I will probably be coming back when I'm ready. Outside of my own personal experience, I noticed they have a variety of pots and fertilizers for all your growing needs. Always nice to see an assortment of pots and accessories for the home garden folk. Furthermore, Vic recommended a fantastic product as an addition to my watering routine, which within days has brought tremendous results. The plants absolutely love it, it amazing to think that this trip offered the plant, the service, and now the reassurance that if ever needed, they will be there to help answering any questions. That's all folks. If you have a problem with your project, there is no doubt they have the personnel to assist. Was a quick trip for me, but be prepared for an assortment of plant species and offerings.

I have a mild addiction to plants, succulents more specifically (although my husband would probably upgrade my condition to moderate), so I get particular joy from seeing what interesting varieties are available. Whether you're a full-blown horticulturist like my BFF who enthusiastically talked shop with them for a good 20 minutes one cloudy Saturday afternoon, an apprentice level collector like me or a first time novice succulent or air plant buyer who is jumping on the Pinterest home decor bandwagon, they are happy to help you choose the right plant, give plant care advice and even gush over your lovely selection with you. You can tell they are truly passionate about their plants! They offer cacti, succulents and air plants in a variety of sizes and species, with prices starting around $2 and going to from there, depending on the size and rarity of the plant. I've personally purchased everything from a 4-inch "hen-and-chicks" for my ever-growing window collection, to a 1-gallon planter containing a 3-foot tall "Slipper Plant" for my full-sun drought-resistant garden bed. If you're looking for something to brighten your home and unlike the DIY garden centers, you want solid advice from a local, passionate small business owner, then I highly recommend checking them out! After entering this store, my first impression was that it looked like a Marshalls or Ross. It wasn't until I walked deep into it that confirmed my suspicion. It's basically a store full of home goods and some interesting stuff from various brands. The purpose for my visit was to look for some biscuits or crackers. Yes, they have a section with gourmet foods and snacks. I didn't find any biscuits so I didn't buy anything food or snack related. I was so intrigued by this store, I stayed to walk around and see what else they have. A thought came to my mind... I needed a photo frame so I searched for that. I spent a good amount of time looking for the photo frame, but I eventually found one and bought it. Staff was nice. Prices were okay. Ambiance was interesting. Goods were in good variety and quite intriguing to say the least. Please keep in mind they don't necessarily have the same item stored at the same aisle and/or same shelf... they may be all over the place. It's like a scavenger hunt of home goods and stuff LOL. Don't be discouraged. See it as an adventure. If it's meant for you, it'll find you. Now I know what's inside a HomeGoods! I would come back here to see what gems I can find as my curiosity mind wants to know LOL. Happy Shopping!
