I owe this foundation so much and am happy I can say THANK YOU. They were literally life savers. I randomly found them as I desperately looked for help because my cat had gotten skin cancer and I did not have the money to give her care. -I applied and heard for them quickly which was essential -They were super friendly and helpful -I appreciated that the income range for applicants was a little higher than extreme low income. Vet care is very expensive. -They require a diagnosis from a vet (at least when I applied several years ago) They took care of my cat and the follow up appointment. They educated me and instructed me to what I should do. I was so grateful that I asked if I could donate and they told me they didn't take money for their services. I left there feeling so so grateful. 7 years later my cat is still with us and is healthy. And she's a super cute earless cat!

I'm beyond grateful for this foundation and its staff for helping my pets, especially my older poodle mix with her big surgery. She had bladder stones, a big mass, and many more complications, but they helped her and gave her another chance at life. They also spayed and neutered her daughters. They are amazing, super friendly, and very caring. May the Lord bless them all for what they do for us pet owners and our furry babies. I'm very thankful; there are no words I can say to let you guys know how thankful I am.

Here he is happy and normal again.. in his senior diapers .. lol

Sam Simon Foundation was a miracle sent from above.. my story.. My boy was 14 at the time.. in his senior years. One day a small bump appeared on his nose and within months it was huge and gross and nasty and it stunk. They wanted me to pay over 4,000 for his surgery.. I cried for months as it just grew bigger.. I search and applied for different foundations to help me.. but there was nobody willing to pay for his surgery unless it was life threatening.. although it looked gross and looked bad it wasn't life threatening.. one day I got a return call from Sam Simon foundation! I qualified for him to have his surgery done with not one penny out of my pocket ! I couldn't believe what I was hearing! I had to pull over because I was crying ! Sam Simon foundation gave me two and a half more years to be with my Rocky! I'm so grateful for them and I wish I could give them 50 stars. So where they may not have given some people what they wanted or expected.. they gave me something I will never forget!! I got more time with my furbaby before his time came and he passed away like he should have .. of old age .. not with a big ugly stinky lump on his nose! Sam Simon you guys are the best!! It's been two years since my rocky passed away and four and a half years since he had his surgery done by you guys! I will never forget you guys.. the entire crew are angels in my eyes! You guys are the best !! Thank you from the whole of my heart for giving me more time with my boy thanks for being there and being a foundation like no other!!! God bless the entire Sam Simon foundation! Grateful blessed and so lucky to have had them recommended to me! They don't accept donations or any kind of payment.. they do what they do because they are angels !! If leaving a review is the most I can do .. then I'm gonna go all out! Thanks you guys so much!! I would post the picture but honestly they are yucky.. so just post his after photo ..when he was in recovery

Very best in Animal Care is the Sam Simon Foundation. We were referred by a friend who is also having a financial hardship. They saved her Kitty, and after, we were given information on this foundation. We weren't perfect in communication and I thought all was lost. Our pup needed surgery for many growths and was quite uncomfortable for a year at least. The surgery was very expensive and we were barely making ends meet. We had taken out loans and our credit was maxed. We turned to Sam Simon in desperation. It was a life-changing experience. Their love for animals far exceeds any other Foundation I have ever seen or heard of by far. They never gave up on reaching out even after so many hit and misses. They hung in there until we communicated and offered their help. Without this Foundation and their excellent medical team, I truly don't know what would have happened to our pup. We were almost without hope when they reached back out to us & immediately they scheduled him in, like next day. They went way above and beyond during his surgery to remove everything that looked suspicious. We hadn't even asked for a consideration on any of the other areas affected... they did it "just because it was the right thing to do." What a gift ! What a blessing the Sam Simon Foundation is! I urge you take advantage of the amazing gift that they offer you because you will never find it again in this lifetime or anywhere else. Our gratitude is for a lifetime. Thank you so much Sam Simon. Our pup is 100% again and this would not be possible without you. Respect and love. We so appreciate you. Papa, Chris, Dawn and Sophie.

My dog is only you're in a half, Already he Has torn both his ACL's. Can the sam simon foundation help my dog?

If he's less than ~30#, we would refer to a low-cost clinic in Los Angeles. If he's larger, we would recommend a clinic in the San Fernando Valley.…

My cat has been sneezing for a few days. Would you be able to help with this?

Hi Jeremy, Apologies for the delay in our response.…

Is there a free place to get your dog tested for parvo and treated?

Unfortunately, there isn't. Any clinic that will test and treat a puppy for parvo will charge. Some are less expensive than others, though. Among them are Kinder4Rescue, SNPLA, Adams Animal Hospital and Pet Orphans. In the meantime, to avoid…

Can Sam Simon assist with a hernia located in the neck area? Dog belongs to a senior citizen and lives in senior housing. Pet is currently on prednisone but gets painful occasionally.

It sounds more like a mass than a hernia. The best thing to do would be to submit an application at ssfmobileclinicrequest.org. Please be sure to include some good clear pictures that are taken from far enough away so that they are in sharp focus…

My dog is dealing with a bad skin bacterial all over his body and losing his balance. An MRI was recommended, however we can't afford it. Do you do MRI's?

We're so sorry to hear this. Unfortunately, we are strictly a surgery clinic and do not offer general exams, treatments, diagnostics or imaging. Even more unfortunately, we don't know of anyone who offers low-cost MRIs.…

Can you help us please. Can a 15 year old be eligible for a mass removal or is it to late? Can you at least help us with her pain?

We do not have an upper age limit on FSC surgeries. For more information, please visit our website at ssfmobileclinic.org.

My kitten isn't spayed yet because she has and accident and needs her leg amputated and we had to reschedule the spayed appointment, my question is if you guys can still do the amputation even if she is not spayed yet because of this incident?

They will spay her at the time of the amputation.

On the other hand, they've decided to take away basic services and for the ones that remain, they've decided to charge OUTLANDISH prices that are absurdly nonsensical. My pet has asthma. Needs an inhaler which I pay for out of pocket and its incredibly expensive. This veterinarian clinic DOES NOT SEND PRESCRIPTIONS TO OUTSIDE PHARMACIES. So they only give you 2 refills and when you need more you have to physically drive into the office, pick it up on paper, then physically drive it to your pharmacy to get it filled. In the day and age where almost everything is available in minutes via apps and the internet, this clinic decided to make the client do a ton of unnecessary physical effort and time investment when it could be submitted via fax or even just approved over the phone. Their other option is pay 40% more foe the same rx through their own pharmacy. So they squeeze you for a ton of money or force you into a half day of nonsense driving everywhere and waiting around in person to avoid losing an arm. I wish VCs would stay out of medicine. This sucks.

I primarily go to Modern Animal for routine care and minor concerns. The space is clean and organized. The waiting area is small, but there are two sides so it is possible to keep distance between us and other pets. Our wait time is usually pretty minimal. Tech appointments tend to be very fast. The nurses and vets always ask if they can give my dog treats to make him feel more comfortable, and with my permission they will do so. I really like this about them - I think it really helps my dog feel more comfortable there. They communicate clearly and answer all the questions I come in with. I like the team at this location. They are kind and knowledgeable. I try to see the same doctors if available. It's not as personal as going to 1 specific veterinarian, but it works. Modern Animal as a service overall works really well for me. I like the app, the ease of making appointments and the chat communication. I feel like the membership fee ends up paying for itself if we go in 2-3 times in a year - it also allows us to go in as needed without the stress of additional exam fees. I also like the documentation and the access we have to all of it. The individual services/treatments, which are separate costs from the membership, are more expensive than what I've seen at other places. However, it has been worth the cost for me.

Between rushing to get there (sry to anyone driving on jefferson that morning didn't see ya) and begging my puppy to stay awake, I hadn't called ahead or warned them we were coming but you would have thought they had been expecting us - the receptionist came running out to meet us, already phoning the staff before I had even made it inside. I walked into the lobby to find a fleet of nurses and staff rushing to help. The time between my puppy being attacked and walking into Modern Animal was the worst of my life - seeing these women immediately know exactly what to do was the first sense of relief I had that day. They were completely calm and solid for my puppy when I wasn't, and while they got me and my hysterics under control, they got her bleeding under control. women, amirite. Dr. Parks was unbelievably calm and gentle with me as she explained that while they had stopped the bleeding, the extent of my puppy's injuries meant she needed to go to a hospital and that she already called the emergency vet in Westwood for us, who were waiting for us to get there, and they were staying on the phone with them to make sure they received us. One of the nurses walked us to my car and all but literally buckled my crying ass in - fairly certain that if she didn't have a job to get back to she would have driven us herself bc the concern on her face watching me get behind the wheel that upset was that of a mother concerned for a child. After we transferred over to VCA, it was such a relief to know they were waiting for us and that I didn't have to explain everything again while frantically trying to get my puppy help. Our vet, Dr. Parks, also messaged to check in and continued following up with VCA to see what happened to her patient, which I really appreciated. I went back to thank the staff with a healthy puppy who all came out hugging us and made me cry AGAIN but this time purely out of gratitude for these women. Before this incident, I already loved Modern Animal for the transparent pricing, lovely staff, and clean facilities. This experience took them over the top for me, and I will forever be grateful to the entire team for how they showed up for my puppy when I was completely falling apart. while you should try to get to an emergency vet if your pet is injured like mine was, they were my first stop not just because they're closest but bc i knew the degree of care we'd get from a modern animal - and while i have no way to know for sure, i'm not sure my puppy wouldn't have made it if we hadn't stopped in MAPV - they didn't waste a second in getting my puppy the care she needed and understood that in these situations seconds matter. those of yall complaining about paying a premium for next-level vet care... guess we have different ideas of what our pets are worth forever grateful to dr parks & her team at modern animal playa vista
