This was by far the BEST experience I have ever had when seeing an eye doctor. I called for an appointment, and they got me in within a week. I went today and got there 20 minutes early for my appointment & was taken in early. The staff was welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable! The assistant (not sure of her actual title) went through numerous series of tests and set up a lot of information prior to me seeing Dr. Horn. Once the Dr. came in, she was quick, precise and answered all my questions so that I understood everything she was saying. Dr. Horn is straight forward & I appreciate that 100%, she talks to you, not at you. Next, out to pick out a pair of glasses - the woman that assisted me was friendly, again knowledgeable and walked me through different frame options. I chose a pair of Prada frames, went with anti-glare, transitions & progressive lenses. Quite frankly I was nervous about the cost, but when all said and done, the price was reasonable and she discounted the frames as I do not have insurance and was paying out of pocket. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GO TO BEACH FAMILY EYE CARE and I'm actually looking forward to the fact they will call me next year when I'm due for a visit!! (my only regret is I forgot everyone's names that assisted me today!)

They didn't use my insurance at all and charged my wife and be 1200.00 $ for new glasses, she likes to fudge the numbers!! Also my neighbor called them and was billed 160.$ ON A PHONE CALL. She's disputing this bogus charge. I would look elsewhere for eye care. Seriously crooked outfit.

So, I am disabled and use a wheelchair 90% of the time. I have many chronic illnesses (diagnosed)…read moreand require my chair for any freedom. I have Medicare and am in need of a new/better wheelchair. I called Mobility Center because of the quote from the CEO/Owner on the website stating that "with over 20 years experience in the Home Medical Equipment industry, I can help you navigate the path from getting the necessary documentation from your physician to choosing the right equipment to insurance/medicare billing and/or financing, and finally getting you going again ... Fast!!!." Well, that did NOT GO WELL!!!! I was told immediately that they do not accept Medicare, although it states it on the website. So, I let the woman who answered the phone know exactly what the website said and what the Owner had written. She put me on hold and Mitch, the owner, got on the phone. He was extremely rude, told me it was a case by case basis..HUH?!?!? I found him extremely insulting. He also asked where I found the information I was reading to him, that he had apparently written himself a while ago, and didn't remember. He tried to talk in circles about what "navigate through physicians and Medicare/Billing" means. I may be disabled, but I am not an idiot! He finally said he could not help me! More like WOULD NOT help me. Why do people get into this business if they aren't in it to help people?!? He made me feel horrible. After he said he couldn't help me, I asked if he knew anyone that could, and he said no! How is this even remotely ok?!?!?!? The thing is, it's NOT OKAY! This is why I am leaving this review; I don't want anyone else to have to be treated this way! I called someone I know in Virginia, where we moved from, and he is amazing!!! I let him know what happened and he was so incredible! He called me back with an actual reputable place. It is in Wilmington, NC but I am so ok with that! I would rather my husband drive me farther and be treated with kindness and compassion, than deal with this place. (not that I have a choice, unless I want to go get a wheelchair off their showroom floor) I need a wheelchair fitted for me! The website says they are BOC accredited, meaning they are helpful with Medicare and those things....Well, I strongly beg to differ. I would not recommend this place if you are actually disabled and have medicare for your mobility aids. I would also give this place a negative, if I could. Simple kindness goes a long way! Not cool, Mitch, not cool!
