I called Mobility Center because of the quote from the CEO/Owner on the website stating that "with over 20 years experience in the Home Medical Equipment industry, I can help you navigate the path from getting the necessary documentation from your physician to choosing the right equipment to insurance/medicare billing and/or financing, and finally getting you going again ... Fast!!!." Well, that did NOT GO WELL!!!! I was told immediately that they do not accept Medicare, although it states it on the website. So, I let the woman who answered the phone know exactly what the website said and what the Owner had written. She put me on hold and Mitch, the owner, got on the phone. He was extremely rude, told me it was a case by case basis..HUH?!?!? I found him extremely insulting. He also asked where I found the information I was reading to him, that he had apparently written himself a while ago, and didn't remember. He tried to talk in circles about what "navigate through physicians and Medicare/Billing" means. I may be disabled, but I am not an idiot! He finally said he could not help me! More like WOULD NOT help me. Why do people get into this business if they aren't in it to help people?!? He made me feel horrible. After he said he couldn't help me, I asked if he knew anyone that could, and he said no! How is this even remotely ok?!?!?!? The thing is, it's NOT OKAY! This is why I am leaving this review; I don't want anyone else to have to be treated this way! I called someone I know in Virginia, where we moved from, and he is amazing!!! I let him know what happened and he was so incredible! He called me back with an actual reputable place. It is in Wilmington, NC but I am so ok with that! I would rather my husband drive me farther and be treated with kindness and compassion, than deal with this place. (not that I have a choice, unless I want to go get a wheelchair off their showroom floor) I need a wheelchair fitted for me! The website says they are BOC accredited, meaning they are helpful with Medicare and those things....Well, I strongly beg to differ. I would not recommend this place if you are actually disabled and have medicare for your mobility aids. I would also give this place a negative, if I could. Simple kindness goes a long way! I had my eye doctors assistant who marks the glasses and checks measurement and fitting explain why your glasses aren't right. She marked your glasses showing how far off your markings are. I mailed your glasses to you as they are no good to me. Return the money you billed to my credit card in May 2023 ($649.27) and return the balance you charged my insurance company. You refused to accept the glasses at your office. You are not only incompetent you are a thief. I will be taking you to court. Avoid The Vision Centers and find a reputable Professional eye store.
