Dr. Singleton takes his time with his patients and gives good advice. He's very knowledgeable and explains procedures well.

I was told that my insurance would cover my procedures but then they sent me a bill. Poor communication and deceitful practices.

I visit Myrtle Beach for Spring Break every year. I had a situation a few years ago while on vacation and Dr. Singleton and his staff took such good care of me I go every year for my annual eye examine now. Even from a few states away the staff is always willing to help me. I can't recommend this eye clinic enough. If you want personal, friendly service visit Dr. Singleton and ask for Casey. Horrible. I'd give them negative stars if I could. I ordered new glasses on 5/10. The order was submitted correctly but the glasses were returned incorrectly. Everytime I call to see about the status of any correction, all I get is: "they must be in the back room or we need to research". I even tried to get the "incorrect" glasses back and get the same answer. read more

Feels like a crowded assembly line. Long waiting times. No one responds to phone calls. Singleton mumbles and can barely understand anything he says (I have good hearing). He is unintelligible. He doesn't even provide suggestions for simple issues such as dry dyes. The staff is rude and pushy. They are just awful. Would not recommend even to my worst enemy. read more

Very frustrating dealing with this office. There's little effort to respond back to requests, complaints...calls/messages go unanswered. Either there short staffed, overwhelmed, who knows but I cant recommend. Doubtful they'll keep customers with poor service and response. read more

This place and everything about it, is totally overrated. I don't know how or when it could ever have possibly gotten over one star. I'd give it a negative rating if I could. We wait for hours each time. Had to go back to get our eyes checked over 4 times! We had to send back the glasses over 5 times to get the correct prescription. They charged us for dual lenses (near & far sighted) which we DID NOT ORDER nor did not want. They billed us incorrectly. THEY OVERCHARGE!!! It's all about the money! was given a pair of contact lenses to try before I committed to a prescription, when I was left I was told by Craig "give us a call and let us know if these work, if they do we can place an order for you." I called back and Craig answered, I told him I wanted to go back to my original prescription and informed him I wanted to place the order for my contacts myself, so I would be in to pick up my prescription. At that time I had reviewed my insurance and they had already PUT A HOLD ON MY CONTACT BENEFITS, even though I never authorized an order. I asked Craig to cancel the order and told him I'd be in to get my prescription. Fast forward 2 weeks, I visited the office to get my prescription and was told "this hasn't been finalized by the Dr - you never let us know if you wanted to change your prescription or keep your original". After repeating everything I had told Craig on the phone 2 weeks earlier, the lovely woman helped me to get my original prescription filled. At this time I went online to purchase my contacts only to find out CRAIG NEVER CANCELLED MY ORDER AND MY BENEFITS WERE ON HOLD. I called the office, lo and behold Craig answers, lies to me and tells me he cancelled the order and would call my insurance company. I hung up, called my insurance company and they got Craig on the phone - he said he DID NOT cancel the order and the woman assisting me from my insurance company cancelled it for him. Now I have to wait an additional week for the order to clear the system so I can order my contacts. I will drive to another state in order to avoid this office. Do your job, Craig. It took me 6 weeks to get my glasses from this clinic, I do not recommend. Not only did the appointment take two hours, It took over a month from my first check up to receive my glasses. Their work environment does not show characteristics of friendliness nor did they show empathy for their customers when I expressed my dissatisfaction. read more

Initially everything seems fine. You see 3 different people to get your exam completed which was different then I am used to, but ok. Gwen (I believe is probably the office manager) helped me pick glasses - regular and sun. About 10 days later my regular glasses came in and at the same time I scheduled a further exam that the doc wanted done (which was not scheduled when I went for original exam). Gwen said "let's schedule your exam for 10 days from now and that way you can get your exam and your sunglasses will be here". Well that did not work. Got some excuse about scratch on lenses and they had to start over. Went for exam and was told I would receive a call with results - again did not happen. And sunglasses were not there again. Called the office numerous times, sent emails and texts, and never got a return call. When I finally got Gwen on the phone she gave me some story about the manufacturer not having material and ..... but that if they weren't in in 3 days she would go elsewhere. Again - did not happen. Finally after 2 months the sunglasses were in, even though, on numerousl occasions, I had asked to cancel them and start over. The customer service is terrible. Dr. Singleton was very knowledgeable and his assistant Soyna was very helpful. She stayed with my infant son so I was able to participate in my appointment and he loved spending time with her! My first visit was rough and I did not leave happy. However, Dr Singleton went above and beyond to amend the situation. He not only solved the problem, but went the extra mile for me. typically do not leave reviews, especially for a local business however the office manager Gwen is incredibly rude that I feel necessary to warn others before using this eye clinic. 1st off you will be ripped off, their prices are outrageously high but this was my 1st experience getting my 2 sons glasses so I did not price shop now that I have WOW, never again. 2nd our appointment was rescheduled not once, NOT twice BUT THREE TIMES before we were seen, 3rd when we FINALLY reached our appt day WE WAITED FOR OVER 2 HRS to be seen! We also ordered a red frame for my son and blue was given, we were told within a few weeks the correct frame would arrive today I was told by the office manager GWEN well I will tell you what the manufactor told me it's on a cargo ship lol, lastly GWEN told me there is a 1 year guarantee on my frame that it my kids break in anyway they will replace for 1 year well my son took a header had recess the frame broke and lenses scratched all over. GWEN claims she never said this and PROCEEDED TO HANG UP THE PHONE ON ME. I have worked in customer service management for near 20 years and have NEVER exp such terrible customer service. I will absolutely NEVER use this clinic and I will be letting everyone I know about the absolute disgusting experience. I should have believed their 3 star reviews. DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC! The staff are so friendly and accommodating, the office atmosphere is very inviting and comfortable. Dr. Singleton is such a knowledgable, sincere,and caring professional.
