I'm going to preface this review with a statement that I have been wearing wigs since I was in my…read more30's. I'm now 66 years old and it's been almost 30 years of wearing wigs. I had a kidney transplant when I was 14 years old and all my hair fell out due to the medications I was taking. I've learned a lot about wigs and how they are made so I was coming from a "space" where I had knowledge of the different kinds of wigs available and on the market. I have also helped many of my fellow kidney patients and chemotherapy patients find wigs as well. Because styles come and go over the years, many of the wigs I have gotten have been discontinued, and I had to "guess" what would look good on me. Sometimes I picked a winner and other times, I wasted money on styles and colors that did not suit me. Over the 30 years I have been wearing wigs, I have spent thousands of dollars. There used to be so many wig stores around that people would use as "try on" stations and then go online and buy the same wig for a cheaper price. Online wig stores do not need to pay rent, or have overhead costs, so many of them were driven out of business with the advent of online sales. It's very hard and almost impossible these days to find a store where you can try on wigs and get expert advice. I noticed Wear Hair for You (the name of the store is a play on the words "We're Here for You) and the few reviews I saw were very good. I will tell you Laura, the shop owner lived up to her store's name. She was "Hair" for me. My experience was stellar. When you go into a store, you have to go knowing that the wig you purchase will most likely be a little bit higher in price than online sites because you are paying the owner for her time, her expertise, and the higher cost of the wig goes towards her rent, and stock. Laura shares space with a Hair Salon/Spa and has some wigs, on display. I am a very blunt person, and I want my salesperson to be the same way. I don't want someone to be a "yes" man or woman. Laura tells it like it is. She was very honest and told me that the style I was wearing was not bad for me, but she had some suggestions that might work better both in style and color. That statement alone, could have led me to say, "Thank you very much for your time, and I'll be back when I need to purchase a new wig." But her honestly led me to stay and see what she would have suggested for me. I'm a very small framed person, so I did not want anything that had too much hair. She steered me towards a beautiful short wig, in a color that she felt would suit me. She draped my head in a white towel and put the color swatch on the top of my head and from what I could tell, it looked perfect. I wasn't prepared to buy the wig on the spot, but needed to go home and think about it. The price was a little higher than I thought, but my thinking is that I wear wigs 100% of the time. I'm as bald as a baby's bottom so I can't wear cheap wigs because if I do, they don't last. I take care of my wigs so one wig can last me about 3 months. I did find similar wigs online, and the prices were very close to what Laura was charging for the wig I wanted. She was not price gouging by any means. My thinking on this was that Laura is a genuine person, she knew what would look nice, she went much further out of the way to help me with payment than I would have expected, and frankly, if I had gotten the wig online and I didn't like it, I would have had to pay return fees, re-stocking fees, and sometimes in my experience, wigs that are purchased online have been used and sometimes have odors to them. Many years ago, I have purchased at least 6-8 wigs at one time to last me through the year, and some came in obviously used because my order would have depleted their stock. By the time I would have returned the wig if it was not right, and paid the re-stocking fee, the extra cost would have been a wash, with Laura's prices, and frankly, Laura deserved fully to be paid for her time and most of all her kindness and compassion. She is a gem. Once I receive the wig, I will update my review to include a picture of before/and/after, but if you want to know you are getting a true opinion and not just a sales pitch, and a person who believes in treating others with kindness but with the truth, you should go to Wear Hair for You. If the wig is as wonderful as Laura was, she has a customer for life. Thank you Laura.

Then Laura shared her expertise in wig care, going so far as to write everything out for us. I can't speak highly enough of her knowledge and compassion! And her prices are quite reasonable too!
