I would like to respond to the lady with the nails. I was there when that happened. She neglects to trim the nails on a monthly basis and expected to get all free services. I heard her say that. She went three months without trimming...she had a very tiny dog, too. I can only imagine how long those nails were when she came in. She wasn't a very nice person at all. Very neglectful with her dog and seemed to like to throw the blame on everyone rather than take responsibility for her own actions. I bring my two dogs there for daycare and grooming. I love them!! All the staff is wonderful and caring for all the dogs that stay there. The only time the owner gets upset with anyone is when they are neglectful. I know she gives them warnings and helps the best she can, but there are some unruly and inconsiderate people out there. Take it from me...(and I have other friends that go there too), this place really is the best when it comes to treating my babies to the point of being spoiled. My boys come home tired and and in the morning, their so excited to get in there. Love them...love them...love them!!!!!! By all means, go with them. They care and love what they do. :) read more

They have always let me know that my dog needs to have her nails trimmed every month among other things that a dog needs to have done.,nails grow very fast,on a dog and also on a human. Do you go three months without trimming your nails! I mean I know I dont,Its common sence that you need to trim your own nails and also your animals on a reasonable time. It must been nice to neglect your dog,and than blame someone else for it, to get free service. The Ruff house has been nothing but good to my dog, I would not go any where else. Common sense is the key here,Dont neglect your dog,and than blame someone else for it, so you can get something free. Nothing in life is Free!!!! As far as the boarding fee she was charged, I know I pay rent, my apartment is not free, that would be nice, so the same thing goes for boarding its not free. I, too, would like to place this review saying that I, too, love this place. The ladies there do such a great job with my dog. I leave my dog there all day while at work to get him groomed. He's a golden and he's part of the family. He is 12 years old and The Ruff House treats him as if he is their own. Brady can't get in there fast enough. He makes himself right at home and never wants to leave there. He comes out at the end of the day looking beautiful. My wife loves the way he looks and smells and won't go anywhere else. We board Brady there all the time. If the owner gets upset with someone, I know it's because THEY are the ones not listening or abusing the pet. The owner, Heather, loves what she does and you can see it in how the animals are treated there. They keep the dogs busy, reinforce training and know what they're doing. My wife and I will always go there and my colleagues go there too. We all board with them and never worry when we go on vacation knowing how good they are. Bless you all at The Ruff House. This place is awesome! I love it and my dogs love it, too! I bring them for grooming and they start off a little nervous at first, but once they realize where they are...they run right through the door all excited. The girls let them play for a while before they are actually groomed. Even after, they are not put into a crate, but put in an area where they will stay clean and can play with other dogs. This place is wonderful and they all take very good care of all the dogs. I even saw the Westfield Shelter bring in a dog for them to groom.....it was such a mess and they make her look and feel like a little princess. (they took a picture for me to see what she looked like when they were done....too cute and looked like she was smiling.) I highly recommend you use their services....my dogs are on "vacation" when I board them there...they always come home tired and happy. What more could I ask for. Thank you, RUFF House. :) read more

After doing business with several groomers, I tried the Ruff House and my puppies appear to have a pretty good time. They are full service and a back play yard for more sociable dogs. What I like the best is that they will clip your dog the way you want and not the way they want to. I have had a number of groomers that clip two ways: no clip and buck naked! Explain that the dog had a knot in her fur so the only thing to do was shave the dog to the point where they are catching and drawing their butts on the carpet from razor rashes. This place can shave your dog down without leaving her so uncomfortable for days. I saw that they got some bad reviews, but I suspect that so disrespect went both ways, because if you should them respect you get it in return, but the owner is an older woman and I can imagine she would not respond well to being disrespected. I have and would recommend this place to any one who loves their dog. read more

The RUFF House is the best place on earth! My wife and I board our dogs there when we take off for a vacation...usually two weeks at a time. Our girls love it there. They come home happy and tired. I had a friend use them for boarding, too, and they say the same thing. We have two goldens. We had them bathed and groomed before we picked them up. They looked gorgeous. I trust them to the nines...I tell all my friends and co-workers to go there. It's definately a place that take great care of your pets and , as I've gotten to know them, they truly love what they do. They go above and beyond to help with whatever concerns I may have with my dogs. I like how they make them sit for things. They keep training instilled so as not to develope bad habits. Our dog has been going to day care at The Ruff House and also has been boarded there on several occasions for the last 2 1/2 years. We have found the owners to be extremely professional. Our dog has always been happy going to day care, and we are never concerned about the care she will receive when she is boarded. With our previous dogs, we have left them either with boarding kennels where they were in crates or kennels the whole time (and let out for "tlc" for a few minutes a day - a service for which we paid extra) or had a pet sitter come in a couple of times a day. Our girl now is much happier with this arrangement and I no longer have "mommy guilt" when we need to board her. I always refer to the owners of The Ruff House as our dog's "other mommies" as it is obvious the love she has for them, and vice versa. read more

I highly recommend The RUFF House. I've been going there since they opened their doors and have watched them grow and they love their animals that come to them more then ever! I board my two goldens with them many times a year and they just love going. Whenever I say to them, "wanna go daycare?" they start running to the door. In fact, they run right into The RUFF House when I open the car door. It's just so cute and it makes me feel so comfortable knowing they love it there. The owner is just so caring and loving to her dogs it's no wonder they love to be there. She and her daughter are very sweet people, and they are very protective of the dogs and how people treat them. The best place in the world for my dogs. I have two shih Tzus. They love this place. They whine and cry all the way there for daycare. I had them stay for two weeks at The Ruff House. They were so happy and excited and had great appetites while there, which tells me they were very relaxed and comfortable with the staff. They were treated as if they were their own pets.....spoiled. They were kept active and I had them groomed before I picked them up and they look beautiful. I feel very at peace whenever I have to leave them there for a week of more because they care so deeply for my babies. This place is incredible. I love bringing my dogs here. I have two..a golden and german shepard. They groom beautifully and I have boarded my dogs with them for the last two years and have had nothing but great things to say about them. They really care and work hard for my babies. And my "babies" come home happy and tired....and this makes me and husband happy. :) I now have started daycare for them there. They take the time to watch and allow them to play...pools and all! My neighbor referred me years ago and all my friends are going there. Really, if I'm comfortable with them...and I am very protective of my dogs...you would love them, too! The best daycare and boarding place in town! I have a mastiff and a yorkie. They love this place and I do, too, because my dogs are taken care of so well, they want to run back into the place when I pick them up from either daycare or when they stay overnight. They get plenty of exercise and get to play with their friends the whole time. They don't stay in a crate the entire time...and I can tell...they are very tired when I get them home. :) I love that. Absolutely love this place. They are very focused on their work and the place is nice and clean. My dogs are happy when I pick them up that they want to go back inside rather than come out the front door with me. They make their own treats and have pools for them to play. My dogs love the water so I'm told they like to hog the pools. lol I will always referr them to everyone I know and feel very at ease knowing they are taken very good care of. When it's time to groom my dog, she loves to go to the Ruff House. They do a very thorough and beautiful job grooming her. She also stays and plays. It's a bit to travel for me, but worth the extra time. I've been to other groomers, but they didn't shine a candle to Ruff House. They've Always have been friendly and professional to me. When picking her up, she's very happy and had a fun day with the other pets. This is my Fifth time using them, and I've always had the same experience. I highly recommend them. read more

I've been going to The Ruff House for three years and have been greeted with a smile every time. I find the prices very reasonable for the level of care and quality of work they provide! It's a family run business. The owner takes great pride in her work and is very knowledgeable about dog health problems and things for me to look for. I have been bringing my long-hair German Shepherd to The Ruff House for over 5 year now. I would not bring him to anybody else. he loves going to what he knows is "puppy school". we can relax on vacation when he boards there knowing he is in great hands. Look, I feel bad for the people who 1-star'd this business and I don't know how that happened but I can say without reservation that these folks are super nice and very good at grooming our dog. They are awesome! My 2 dogs were very calm and relaxed when we picked them up after a week straight! Plus they had a clean smell to them ,anyone that has had used kennels for long periods of time knows how bad dogs can stink after being at a kennell. read more
