horrible I brought my dog for a grooming left not even 10 minutes later they called us saying my dog was biteing stuff when she was but into a kennel (we were not told she was going to be put Inti a kennel we came exactly on time for the appointment) they said she was biting the kennel when I checked my dog her BACK teeth where bleeding ( mind u I expected maybe the from teeth to bleed at most because she's 14 and put in a kennel for the first time ungroomed and injured really!? read more

This groomer is horrible botched my dog. I've been to two hospitals he's itchy and uncomfortable and depressed. I've been to many groomers this is the worst. And no one has apologized. That makes it all worst please don't go here. read more

This review is specifically about the Vetco services at this location. DO NOT MAKE AN APPT. HERE My experience was horrible. When I arrived I was told that my kittens needed to be in separate carriers. They had sent me a text to let me know this but it was sent 5 minutes before I was instructed to be at the appointment so I did not see it as I was in transit. They told me that the website instructs owners to do this and that I could purchase one at the store (what a scam). When I said that I did not see those instructions on the site (I confirmed when I got home that it does not include them), they found me a loaner. After traumatizing my kittens by taking them out of the carriers twice (once for pics and once to weigh them; not sure why these activities couldn't be combined) while, and I'm not exaggerating here, they allowed a giant St. Bernard to come within a couple of feet of them as well as a cocker spaniel who was next to us the whole time. Finally, just as we were ready to get the vaccines, the person I was working with told me I had to reschedule as they were out of a vaccine. It was 12:30, they still had appointments all afternoon and evening and when I registered I had to clearly indicate that the appointments were for vaccines and the pets were FELINE! When I asked how this could happen as they must know how many vaccination appointments are for cats, she told me "it doesn't work like that." What the...!!!! Every time I have visited this store I have had excellent service. I'm a new classroom pet parent and have been so supported in every step of the way by this particular store. Nicki initially answered all the questions about the baby stages, helped us pick a dragon, and helped get all the necessary gear while removing all The things you read you need. Today, Nicholas was super helpful in supporting the beardie's juvenile life and needs. I'm impressed with by the customer service and highly recommend this store. Thanks Nicholas!! read more

My dog is nine years old. I take him to Petco to get his nails trimmed because I figured a "professional" would do it better than I could. Today my father took my dog and didn't realize until he dropped him off at home that there was blood all over his truck and now all over my carpets and floors because the groomer cut one of his nails way too short. It's been bleeding for 3 hours. Even though it's a dark nail anyone can see that it's way too short. All the other nails are a lot longer so she clearly wasn't paying attention when she was cutting that nail. He's a nervous wreck and I'm trying to get him to calm down. I am so disappointed in Petco, this is not okay. Petco did not answer when I tried to call and notify them. The second pic is of the blood still coming out after 3 hours. I guess we won't be going for walks anytime soon either. Thanks for nothing Petco, we won't be coming back and I will be warning everyone I know. read more

Large selection as one expects of Petco. Friendly staff usually at checkout as well although there's usually a short wait even when there 's not much of a crowd in the store. A tipper mentioned bare stock due to renovations but that's long in the past. All the shelves appear fully stocked up. I posted a picture of the cat treats on sale as example. read more

My husband and I unexpectedly decided to foster a dog. We walked into Petco needing everything. The sales people greeted us immediately and helped us find food, bedding and much more. A few weeks later we walked in proud " foster failure parents" with our newly adopted dog Sophia. The young woman who originally helped us, walked over and offered to help sign Sophia up for the dog training courses. We are grateful to have worked with the staff there. Friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help answer all our questions each time. read more

I went in the store to get a betta fish and a Plecostomus. they were very nice and helped my family out. But the fish didn't make it for some reason. So a week later we went back to get a new betta and Plecostomus. The workers were very rude and they ignored us. Them when we got home our betta didn't look good even with it was in the small container it came in. We did all the steps but the Betta in and he was swimming side ways. He wouldn't eat and he didn't look well and week after we got him he died. He look like he was very miss treated. I don't understand why but at this point its not us. Because we did everything to make sure the tank was perfect. we spent $40 on these fish that didn't even make it twice. read more

Service here is terrible. It was our first time so I thought I'd call to see how the grooming goes. See if they could get my dog in for a grooming pedicure. Was told they don't do walkins very rudely and that "you need to bring your dogs rabies info or we will turn you away". They already turned me off with the rudeness and terrible service. Asked if they had any appointments her response was "nope", not let me see what I can do next week. Just "nope" we will be going to petsmart read more

I found great deals on dog toys here, and they seem to last. My pup has hours of fun and doesn't seem to destroy them as easy. Great deals, really good staff and cool pets in there as well! read more

Our EXPERIENCE AT PETCO WAS TERRIBLE. We opted to leave and not risk the safety of our beautiful puppy. Holyoke PETCO Sunday 10-1 Clinic had a vet who did not appear safe for the job. In the hour we were there we realized the store was moving us, but actually no one had been seen by the vet. The tech seemed overwhelmed and trying, but the vet was barely able to move and had serious vision issues as well. As a strong believer in all deserve a chance, I opted to observe as the vet appeared to work with his first patient. The tech held a puppy and pointed to the spot to inject and the vet appeared to give the injection (not quite sure) all I know is the needle flew back out of his hand. The vet was sitting and appeared to be attempting to read an old newspaper the majority of the time I watched. Petco can say this business is not part of their store, but it is a symbiotic relationship and surely not a good one. I wouldn't even give one star for this experience, but could not submit my review with no stars. I would never go back as clearly leadership employees working there had a responsibility to shut that clinic down until a capable vet could arrive. I am sure he may be a wonderful person, but he is no longer able to do his job. I hope no animals were injured. read more

I had my dog groomed there for thanksgiving and my experience started off with a rude welcoming from the "grooming mngr" she was very short with her answers and terribly rude and snotty she didnt seem to have a clue what she was talking about.After about 4 hours I finally returned for my dog which looked worse then when I dropped her off she looked like a 6 year old took scissors to her and for the high price you pay I expected a proffesional groom and did not receive that.The salon smelt and looked filthy everyone in there looked miserable was not very welcoming,would definitly not recommend leaving your dog in their care.. read more
