The nerves in my face are scared, and I can get excruciating pain that can last for months - but if I go in to him for treatments, the pain has gone away in one treatment.. I have gone through many many Chiropratic visits, and this Acupuncture is by far the best route for me to go. Especially with Dr. Brown. He is curteous, and does an amazing job.

I arrived approximately 5 minutes late for my appointment (11:20 a.m. for an 11:15 a.m. appointment) and had already communicated beforehand that I would be arriving at 11:18 a.m. I understand that late arrivals can affect appointment times, but what was never communicated was that this would result in losing treatment time or that choosing to reschedule to receive the full service would result in an $40 cancellation fee. Instead of clearly explaining the policy and giving me all the information upfront, I was told after the fact that the fee would be applied. I was charged $40 unfairly for a gift appointment from my friend, who is a weekly client at this establishment. After this experience, I have already encouraged her to take her business elsewhere. The massage therapist also did not provide a welcoming experience upon arrival. Rather than greeting me professionally and warmly, the interaction immediately felt as though I was an inconvenience and that the shortened appointment was being emphasized instead of trying to provide a positive client experience. Policies are one thing, but communication and customer service matter. Unfortunately, this establishment failed in both areas.

After over a year and a half of battling fibromyalgia, I had stopped care with another practitioner over scheduling problems. My pain levels reached an all time high. I'd hit a wall with western treatments and didn't want to start just adding new pharmaceuticals. I was pretty much convinced that I would be in pain, struggling, not the mother and wife I wanted to be, for the rest of my life. I am only 36! What a sad and hopeless place to be. After a particularly high pain day, my husband finally convinced me to start looking for a new acupuncturist as he knew my treatments had brought me some relief. I cannot begin to describe how very fortunate I feel to have found Jennifer. Upon walking into her office and starting my consultation with her, I immediately felt at ease. She has an extremely calming demeanor and is very thoughtful. Her office is soothing and peaceful. At risk of sounding cheesy, Jennifer is a healer. She is passionate about her work, extremely knowledgeable, and truly wants to get to the ROOT of your problem....even if it is a challenge. Anyone who has dealt with chronic pain issues knows that sometimes it seems like the doctors want to just throw pills at you to make you stop complaining, so eventually you just decide to live with the pain. Not Jennifer. She really wants to know how you're doing because she knows each symptom has merit and information to help her find an appropriate treatment for you. She is extremely knowledgeable, but also not afraid to do research and consult with colleagues on certain matters. She is the first practitioner I feel like has not given up on or gotten frustrated with helping me, and I can't thank her enough. After 2 months of weekly treatments and Chinese herbs, Jennifer has helped my pain reach an all time LOW. I could cry when I write that, because I didn't think it was possible for me to ever feel *almost* normal again. If you are suffering from chronic illness of any type, I urge you to reach out to her. I have been going through fertility treatment for a while before I chose to commence acupuncture. When I was trying to decide where I wanted to go, I wanted to make sure the place that I went to made me feel comfortable and heard. Most acupuncturists that I met were not humble or made me feel welcome to their practice. I did find one that I really wanted to try, but the offices in Sacramento were closing. I was bummed. I was feeling defeated because it was another set back for me. I have had many failed months of trying to conceive and this feeling of the office closing right when I had decided to start acupuncture, made this process feel hopeless. But, then I received an email from Dr. Niemeyer saying that she used to work with the office that was closing but that she also had her own practice and it just made me feel so much better. I felt like someone had caught me when I was falling. Once I walked into her practice, I just knew that this is the place that I was meant to go to. her practice is beautiful, soothing, soft, welcoming, and warm. The staff are amazing and they know exactly what I like. I love the way Dr. Niemeyer tailors the service to exactly what the person needs. She heard what I was going through and tailored all the treatment to what I needed. I felt assured that she would not give up on me. We have a great relationship and after 3 months, I became pregnant! I had to email Dr. Niemeyer a picture right away because I know that she helped me so much! I know that there are many factors as to why I got pregnant but I do want to give credit to Dr. Niemeyer. I am just finishing up the first trimester and I swear that I did not have any severe symptoms of fatigue or nausea because of the acupuncture. My sessions were weekly. Finding Jennifer has been such a blessing! I injured my foot last year training for a race. I finished it but was in such pain, it was unbearable. I went to my primary care doctor who took an x-ray and didn't find anything. I was then referred to a podiatrist who basically said I needed an orthodic for about $300, not covered by insurance. Then I saw a PT for a couple of months and still no relief. I started to experience sciatic pain as well. I was feeling hopeless. Being able to go outside and be in nature, whether walking, running, or hiking is my anti-depressant. Not being able to do this was having a very negative impact on my mental health. While researching alternative healing modalities, I came across an article on acupuncture. I looked on Yelp and found The Root Wellness, which had great reviews. Booked an appointment with Jennifer and from the first meeting, felt like I was being heard. She is very thorough and addresses the "root" of the issue, rather than trying to cover it with a band-aid. I have had several appointments and with each one, I feel closer to normal. I am so glad I found Dr. Niemeyer and The Root Wellness! I was at the end of my rope, having seen multiple M.D.s and had numerous tests done to determine the cause of the debilitating fatigue that was making it difficult to stay awake throughout the day, let alone parent two small children. Each appointment with a new doctor would bring hope, only to be told that my case was a "mystery" and that it's normal for women my age to be "tired". Despite their well intentions, none of those doctors could help me. At my first appointment with Dr. Niemeyer she not only identified exactly what was causing my fatigue, but immediately laid out the treatment necessary for recovery and healing. She was open and honest that it would take time, lifestyle changes on my part, and dedication to my treatment regimen to see results. It's one year later and I have my energy and stamina back. I came to The Root Wellness and met with Jennifer Niemeyer for a chronic shoulder issue and lower back pain. Jennifer took the time to go over my issues as well as my medical history. As a breast cancer survivor she adjusted my treatment plan accordingly and went over everything before hand. I truly appreciated this since it was my first time seeing an acupuncturist. Jennifer has helped me beyond belief. She immediately made me feel as ease and explained exactly what she would do. She was willing to answer all my questions as I was very skeptical. She was honest up front on how she felt she could help me. I have had continual pain in both hands for years. After PT, injections and multiple surgeries the doctors couldn't do anything else to ease the pain. After a few treatments, my pain level went from a 10 to a maximum 3. Now 6 months later, I am on a monthly maintenance program. She has given me pain free hands most of the time, and if they hurt, the pain is minimal. Jennifer is wonderful! I would recommend her to everyone. She is truly caring and really listens to exactly how you are feeling to treat you better. I saw her every week during my second pregnancy to help with my stress and anxiety, morning sickness, as well to help prevent blood pressure and preclampsia issues during my pregnancy. I truly believe the weekly accupuncture with Jennifer helped me stay positive and healthy with my pregnancy. And as a bonus Jennifer was able to start labor for me right before my due date when docotors where pressuring me to an induction for fear of preclampsia again. He said tylenol and stress management. As a generally high stressed individual, I knew I had to do further research and explore holistic options. Google brought me here, and it did not disappoint. I wasn't a skeptic, but I was shocked at the instant relief it brought me. Personally, it was an intense experience, emotionally and physically. I found relief in target points and didn't intend on treating my anxiety, but I found relief in that area as well.
