She was able to get all the fluids moving in my body and it was very relieving. When the service was done and I stood up to change back into my clothes, I could notice a huge difference with a reduction of swelling. Even as I'm sitting at home, I expected to feel kind of crappy after because of all the toxins being pushed out but I feel great. I can not say enough good things about Angella. I arrived approximately 5 minutes late for my appointment (11:20 a.m. for an 11:15 a.m. appointment) and had already communicated beforehand that I would be arriving at 11:18 a.m. I understand that late arrivals can affect appointment times, but what was never communicated was that this would result in losing treatment time or that choosing to reschedule to receive the full service would result in an $40 cancellation fee. Instead of clearly explaining the policy and giving me all the information upfront, I was told after the fact that the fee would be applied. I was charged $40 unfairly for a gift appointment from my friend, who is a weekly client at this establishment. After this experience, I have already encouraged her to take her business elsewhere. The massage therapist also did not provide a welcoming experience upon arrival. Rather than greeting me professionally and warmly, the interaction immediately felt as though I was an inconvenience and that the shortened appointment was being emphasized instead of trying to provide a positive client experience. Policies are one thing, but communication and customer service matter. Unfortunately, this establishment failed in both areas.

After over a year and a half of battling fibromyalgia, I had stopped care with another practitioner over scheduling problems. My pain levels reached an all time high. I'd hit a wall with western treatments and didn't want to start just adding new pharmaceuticals. I was pretty much convinced that I would be in pain, struggling, not the mother and wife I wanted to be, for the rest of my life. I am only 36! What a sad and hopeless place to be. After a particularly high pain day, my husband finally convinced me to start looking for a new acupuncturist as he knew my treatments had brought me some relief. I cannot begin to describe how very fortunate I feel to have found Jennifer. Upon walking into her office and starting my consultation with her, I immediately felt at ease. She has an extremely calming demeanor and is very thoughtful. Her office is soothing and peaceful. At risk of sounding cheesy, Jennifer is a healer. She is passionate about her work, extremely knowledgeable, and truly wants to get to the ROOT of your problem....even if it is a challenge. Anyone who has dealt with chronic pain issues knows that sometimes it seems like the doctors want to just throw pills at you to make you stop complaining, so eventually you just decide to live with the pain. Not Jennifer. She really wants to know how you're doing because she knows each symptom has merit and information to help her find an appropriate treatment for you. She is extremely knowledgeable, but also not afraid to do research and consult with colleagues on certain matters. She is the first practitioner I feel like has not given up on or gotten frustrated with helping me, and I can't thank her enough. After 2 months of weekly treatments and Chinese herbs, Jennifer has helped my pain reach an all time LOW. I could cry when I write that, because I didn't think it was possible for me to ever feel *almost* normal again. If you are suffering from chronic illness of any type, I urge you to reach out to her. I have been going through fertility treatment for a while before I chose to commence acupuncture. When I was trying to decide where I wanted to go, I wanted to make sure the place that I went to made me feel comfortable and heard. Most acupuncturists that I met were not humble or made me feel welcome to their practice. I did find one that I really wanted to try, but the offices in Sacramento were closing. I was bummed. I was feeling defeated because it was another set back for me. I have had many failed months of trying to conceive and this feeling of the office closing right when I had decided to start acupuncture, made this process feel hopeless. But, then I received an email from Dr. Niemeyer saying that she used to work with the office that was closing but that she also had her own practice and it just made me feel so much better. I felt like someone had caught me when I was falling. Once I walked into her practice, I just knew that this is the place that I was meant to go to. her practice is beautiful, soothing, soft, welcoming, and warm. The staff are amazing and they know exactly what I like. I love the way Dr. Niemeyer tailors the service to exactly what the person needs. She heard what I was going through and tailored all the treatment to what I needed. I felt assured that she would not give up on me. We have a great relationship and after 3 months, I became pregnant! I had to email Dr. Niemeyer a picture right away because I know that she helped me so much! I know that there are many factors as to why I got pregnant but I do want to give credit to Dr. Niemeyer. I am just finishing up the first trimester and I swear that I did not have any severe symptoms of fatigue or nausea because of the acupuncture. My sessions were weekly. After I got pregnant, my sessions continued to be weekly, and once I passed 12 weeks, we moved to monthly. I am so grateful for Dr. Niemeyer. I could not have done this without her support. Finding Jennifer has been such a blessing! I injured my foot last year training for a race. I finished it but was in such pain, it was unbearable. I went to my primary care doctor who took an x-ray and didn't find anything. I was then referred to a podiatrist who basically said I needed an orthodic for about $300, not covered by insurance. Then I saw a PT for a couple of months and still no relief. I started to experience sciatic pain as well. I was feeling hopeless. Being able to go outside and be in nature, whether walking, running, or hiking is my anti-depressant. Not being able to do this was having a very negative impact on my mental health. While researching alternative healing modalities, I came across an article on acupuncture. I looked on Yelp and found The Root Wellness, which had great reviews. Booked an appointment with Jennifer and from the first meeting, felt like I was being heard. She is very thorough and addresses the "root" of the issue, rather than trying to cover it with a band-aid. I have had several appointments and with each one, I feel closer to normal. In fact, this last week, I walked 2.75 miles twice and hiked around Folsom Lake for 4 miles so close to 10 miles in 4 days. It feels so good to be out there! I would highly recommend Jennifer! I am so glad I found Dr. Niemeyer and The Root Wellness! I was at the end of my rope, having seen multiple M.D.s and had numerous tests done to determine the cause of the debilitating fatigue that was making it difficult to stay awake throughout the day, let alone parent two small children. Each appointment with a new doctor would bring hope, only to be told that my case was a "mystery" and that it's normal for women my age to be "tired". Despite their well intentions, none of those doctors could help me. At my first appointment with Dr. Niemeyer she not only identified exactly what was causing my fatigue, but immediately laid out the treatment necessary for recovery and healing. She was open and honest that it would take time, lifestyle changes on my part, and dedication to my treatment regimen to see results. It's one year later and I have my energy and stamina back. Just recently someone told me that I seemed much more alive and vibrant than before I started acupuncture. I came to The Root Wellness and met with Jennifer Niemeyer for a chronic shoulder issue and lower back pain. Jennifer took the time to go over my issues as well as my medical history. As a breast cancer survivor she adjusted my treatment plan accordingly and went over everything before hand. I truly appreciated this since it was my first time seeing an acupuncturist. I immediately felt at ease and comfortable with Jennifer. She is very knowledgeable, caring and explains everything during treatment. Jennifer has helped me beyond belief. She immediately made me feel as ease and explained exactly what she would do. She was willing to answer all my questions as I was very skeptical. She was honest up front on how she felt she could help me. I have had continual pain in both hands for years. After PT, injections and multiple surgeries the doctors couldn't do anything else to ease the pain. After a few treatments, my pain level went from a 10 to a maximum 3. Now 6 months later, I am on a monthly maintenance program. She has given me pain free hands most of the time, and if they hurt, the pain is minimal. Jennifer is wonderful! I would recommend her to everyone. She is truly caring and really listens to exactly how you are feeling to treat you better. I saw her every week during my second pregnancy to help with my stress and anxiety, morning sickness, as well to help prevent blood pressure and preclampsia issues during my pregnancy. I truly believe the weekly accupuncture with Jennifer helped me stay positive and healthy with my pregnancy. And as a bonus Jennifer was able to start labor for me right before my due date when docotors where pressuring me to an induction for fear of preclampsia again. My labor started within 48 hrs after my last induction session with Jennifer and labor lasted 2 hrs and 45 mins! which I most definitely give credit to my weekly accupuncture with Jennifer. read more

Jennifer has been treating me for multiple ailments, most stemming from stress and overlooked by my general physician. Wow, Jennifer is the real deal. I referred a friend of mine who severely dislocated three of his upper ribs and was in considerable amount of pain. So much so he had to go on paid medical leave as commercial pilot. When he was at the height of pain. Additionally, they also do IV and Ozone therapy to help depleted electrolytes, relieve joint pain, combat chronic infections, and improve tissue repair at a cellular level. My situation was one that began back in early-2025 when I started experiencing the outer left thigh numbness. I heavily researched symptoms online and there were a broad topic of findings that included meralgia paresthetica, herniated disc, pinched nerve, and even sciatica. Since I recently had my annual physical with my primary care doctor, all of my vital signs through blood tests came out normal as I did not have an elevated A1C (which determines if you're diabetic) nor do I have any abnormalities to my heart, liver, kidneys, and other vital organs. Since my friend referred me here, he put in a good word as I finally booked an appointment on Thursday 3/19/26. There is a small parking lot that actually shares several other businesses in the same building. Once checked in, Dr. Ross was able to see me immediately. He asked some of the standard questions (medical history, past injuries, current medications, etc) to further get a better idea what might be causing this. He then directed me to the x-ray room where he conducted a full body image that shows any abnormalities with my bones and joints. Come find out that there was a small pinched nerve triggering pressure around my lower lumbar spine region. At least this was a sign that I definitely needed to get my back adjusted. Once Dr. Ross gave me a full examination, he was able to make adjustments to my neck/collarbone area and then work on extensive areas surrounding my lower back. he was gentle during the entire exam as I knew this would be the right choice. I did hear some minor cracking but it was quite subtle as there wasn't any immediate pain. The whole appointment only took around 25 minutes which was quicker than expected. After the hours and days that followed this appointment, I still have noticeable pain and numbness. However, from what I was told, it takes weeks (or even months) for this to subside. I also wanted to add that I have several follow-up appointments since this is something I definitely want to treat carefully to keep my body in excellent shape. All in all, "Lighthouse Wellness Center" did a very good job for addressing my needs as I hope that this will eventually help alleviate this discomfort to a somewhat permanent level. I wanted to add that they do accept several insurance plans. Finally, their hours vary by the day but they are open Monday through Friday and can even take last-minute appointments. With a caring staff, above average experience, and hopefully a step in the right direction, I am giving this place a perfect five-star rating.

I found relief in target points and didn't intend on treating my anxiety, but I found relief in that area as well.
