I had a very disappointing experience at this clinic and would not return. The treatment felt unusually aggressive compared to other acupuncture sessions I've had. Instead of a careful, deliberate approach, the practitioner repeatedly pressed or hit painful areas and then asked if the pain improved. When I said it hadn't, he quickly added multiple needles in the same area of my head without much explanation. The process felt rushed and reactive rather than thoughtful or planned. All of the needles were placed in my head, which is very different from my past experiences, and there was little effort to explain the reasoning behind this approach. I left feeling uncomfortable and unconvinced that there was a clear treatment strategy. What concerned me most was the lack of professionalism. At one point, he even stated that he is "not a great acupuncturist," which seriously undermined my confidence in the care I was receiving. He also mentioned using random images from the internet for his website, which made me question the credibility of the business overall. These were not even his patients on the site. I've had acupuncture elsewhere, and this experience felt significantly below the standard I would expect. I came down with tmj which is a stress related condition that caused my jaw to get out of alignment to the point where I could not close my mouth I tried seeing my dentist, my doctor and going to physical therapy but nothing worked. I want to say since I've been seeing Dr. D for my Anziety and now my blood pressure I can see things a lot better now He's got it under control is very calm and makes you feel very comfortable with whatever you're dealing with. he listens to you when you're talking to him and he always has an answer. I came to see Dr. Deng based on the recommendation of a family friend. I've experienced various health issues for the past two decades that traditional Western medicine has not been able to heal. The usual "take this pill" or "there is nothing physically wrong with you" approach was (still is) frustrating. I feel that individuals who have suffered for months/years seek other treatment modalities, in this case acupuncture, when traditional Western medicine has failed us. Dr. Deng has a pleasant and cherry attitude. His humor also helps offset the anxiety I feel about being poked by needles. He is attentive to your concerns and shows genuine interest in improving your symptoms and overall health. He identified a health condition I had without me telling him first and identifed another I didn't know I had! We prioritized my health concerns and began tackling the first two. I observed marked improvements after the first session and even more after the following sessions. Dr. Deng will ask you to quantify the improvement so that he can adapt his treatment accordingly for the next session. My recommendation is to be open minded, receptive and withhold any pre-conceived notions of acupuncture you may have (including any prior experience). Some people may get benefit right away or within a session or two, while others may need multiple sessions over a period of weeks or months. I came in to see Dr.Deng for my Hashimoto/Hypothyroidism. After a very thorough examination, he got to understand what's happening on a deeper level. The main issue was a very high stress level. We're so grateful for Dr. Deng. He is so good with kids, and has such positive energy. He truly cares about his patients and was responsive and available whether it be at night or on the weekends. He helped us during such a hard time, and we could not recommend him enough. My 10 year old broke out into a rash that spread throughout her body. We went to urgent care, the emergency room, saw a dermatologist and allergist, and despite all the different medications given, it continued to spread and get worse. The specialists we saw mentioned that they were stumped, and that the medications given should have worked by now. This was a very helpless feeling. My husband is a patient of Dr. Deng, and he told him about our daughter's rash, and Dr. Deng told us to bring her in. We were hesitant at first as our daughter is terrified of needles. The office is very cluttered and a bit chaotic. The doctor is running around all over the office. The treatment was very unconventional as in he had me sitting in a chair with instructions that included a lot of movement. I have never been in so much pain during acupuncture. The worst part is I have residual pain in my leg 6M later. I went to a different acupuncturist and had some treatments to counteract this, but because it's nerve issues it returns. I have to say my first experience from another acupuncturist is not a great experience. But, Dr Deng change that perspective and after our first session I felt some relief from the tightness of my neck and shoulder and blockage in my neck for the past 2 years. I've gone to acupuncturists for 45 years, and can definitively say that Dr Deng is not a good acupuncturist. He makes patients sit up while inserting and leaving the needles in. It is definitely not relaxing, and is the opposite of all other acupuncturists who have the patient lie down. Also, Dr. Deng kept telling me to smile and be happy. When i went to meet Deng a while back, he told me all about myself...How my boss mistreats me and disrepects me...How I'm heading for a heart attack. "I know you!" he sneered at me with a smile on his face. Besides his arrogance, here's the problem with that: He doesn't know me! He's completely wrong on all counts. My bosses treat me with respect and just gave me the largest cash bonus I have ever received...about $18,000. My medical doctor says my cardiovascular system is in excellent condition with low risk of heart attack....scans show my cardiovascular plaque levels are like someone half my age. Then while i'm sitting on the examination table responding to one of his dumb remarks, without warning he suddenly pokes me in my right palm with a needle! The pain was extreme! My mind short circuited for a second with shock, confusion, and pain...he was smiling! It's not like he was carefully inserting a needle for treatment. He suddenly moved his hand two feet through space and jabbed the needle into my palm and then quickly retracted his hand while still holding on to the needle....so obviously it wasn't intended for part of some acupuncture treatment....or he would have tried to leave the needle in place. Also with such a sudden movement from a distance, he could not have hoped for any accuracy with needle "placement". I'm a large, white male standing at 6 feet 4 inches and 240 pounds. I come from a military family, and I know how to deal with violence. Deng is fortunate that my discipline and self control are about an 8 out of 10. Why would he behave this way? No one can get inside his head, but maybe my physical description has something to do with it. Maybe i look prosperous, and he was looking for a legal payday if i reacted with violence.....maybe he has poor impulse control and enjoys seeing people like me in pain. Maybe he's a Silence of the Lambs fan....when he was telling me all about myself, i half expected him to call me Clarice. The only thing I'm sure of is I think he sucks, and i won't be going back! Looked for ever to find someone with great reviews and a background in Chinese medicine.I wasn't using insurance because it was t covered so I paid out of pocket cash.I was so excited to see dr deng and have him start me on a new happier path with some acupuncture and herbs.made the appointment shows up a little early walked through the front door he walked down the hall smiled and welcomed us.environment looked chill and was excited to get started with my consultation.he had me and my wife step into the first room when walking into the office and sat down.he starts real quick with several questions looked at my tongue and he left the room.came back several minutes later with a few more questions about why I'm looking for acupuncture and my concerns.he then leaves the room again.I sit there for several more minutes and he finally comes back in and he starts hooking me up with needles all over.I'm like cool this guy is really hitting some of the same spots my previous dr had did.layer down on the table and he handed me a buzzer?guess to call if needed ok cool.started the process and everything seemed good.shuts the door walked out and I'm off.lates there maybe 10 minutes heard the front door open and close a few times I was like ok that was noisy when tryouts chill.ok back to closing my eyes and chilling letting the process work.then the phone rings for about a minute then it goes to voicemail.ok then seconds later front door opens and closes a few more times maybe with more patients?that's starting to annoy me when I'm trying to get care.lay there a bit longer and really start to relax and then again front door opens and closes again and the front door has a ringing bell on it so you really know when someone arrives.damn this sucks.I'm starting to feel less relaxed and a little more tension which I'm trying to get rid of that's why I'm here.ok chill one more time about ten more minutes and fucking telephone is going off again I'm like damn and no one is answering the phone it just rings and rings then goes to voicemail.holy smokes I'm so beyond where I can get benefits from the service.I started hitting the buzzer to get his attention and finally after many attempts he shows back up in the room says some point less shit looks at my tongue again and says oh ok.looks like you will need to be seen two times weekly I'm like yeah ok left frustrated and feeling like what a waste of my hard earned cash money.horrible experience here at this rocklin acupuncture when the reviews were great.I have to be the lucky person to get the experience I had.never ever again and that service is not cheap.I was so looking forward to this appointment I needed help bad.just my two cents on this guy and his practice.
