Just about every roofer before him threw numbers in the air, asked for big deposits, rushed us to decide with little explanation of what's going on with the roof. Contacted ten roofers for repair estimates. Six replied and four came out to estimate. Price range was pretty wide, with the highest estimate double the lowest. As well, only one went into the attic during the estimate process. Dwight took several pictures and said we identified the leak early so the wood damage was minimal. So I went with Dwight from "The Roofer. " His estimate was also the cheapest by $500, and this was not a huge job. On repair day, he arrived bright and early as promised. He got straight to work, taking photos during every step of the process. He removed clay tiles during the repair process and was able to uses them all. After completing the repair, he also walked the rest of the roof and identified seven cracked tiles that he patched. He is a very knowledgeable and professional guy, which is so rare in the industry these days. In fact, I am having him back to do some fascia repairs next week. I contacted Dwight to review a leaked in our roof. I ended up not contracting him for other reasons. That said, I was pleasantly surprise by his professionalism. First I have to call out great communication: in the first visit he ran into problems that delayed him from getting to my home. He let me know in advanced and later showed up as promised. This already tells me he is very responsible. Second: he explained very clearly what needed to be done and detailed the same in his quote/proposal, plus offering extended warranty (2 years vs 1 year that you typically get for this service) All in all very happy with the interaction and I hope we can do business in the future should I need help with my roof again. read more

Some other roofing companies listed in Yelp wanted to sue our insurance company to get us a new roof and hurricane windows.... what a bunch of crock. Others roofing companies never called us back or showed up on time. But Dwight showed up when he said he would. I used to work in construction and roofers are usually rude, shady and messy workers, but not Dwight. He promptly fixed our leaking roof correctly the first time. Provided us with several pictures of leak damages he found, then provided more pictures of repairs as the repairs progressed. When it comes to all things roofing, we confidently recommend Dwight. During his free estimate, he not only identified the reason for our roof leak (faulty flashing), but also found another problem with an improperly sealed lead pipe. His quote was reasonable with the 10% discount and the invoice he emailed us to review included pictures of the problem along with clearly worded descriptions of how he would fix it and the products he would use. As an added bonus, he said he would fix the improperly sealed lead pipe for no extra charge. A few days later, he arrived at our house right on time and fixed the roof and pipe. That night we had a heavy rain (~5.25"), and the roof didn't leak! He emailed us the updated invoice with pictures showing the process and the finished job and said he would come back in a couple weeks to add a layer of silicon he has on hand rather than let it go to waste. Dwight was a pleasure to work with, highly recommend. We will call him again should anything else happen to our roof. UPDATE: we contacted Dwight after a couple weeks about adding the layer of silicon he mentioned, but he said the bucket he had in mind had already hardened and that he would keep us in mind the next time he buys another bucket of silicon. Hands down the best company I've ever hired. Dwight went above and beyond in ways I can't even begin to explain. I had no idea he went to Home Depot to match 3 different colors of paint for our custom skylight. He painted the wall surrounding the skylight and inside the bathroom where the skylight was installed. the custom skylight is perfection and the amount of work he did to clean up when he was done w the installation / painting was beyond my wildest expectations. We have had several people work on our house lately and nobody painted or did such an amazing job with clean up.
