A quiet and pleasant place to stay, this is a quaint little bed and breakfast, with a literal name:…read morethey are like cute little houses and there are only two of them. Judy the owner is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, especially the perfectly fluffy muffins and fresh juice. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. The location was convenient and had everything we needed. Do call ahead for reservations! This place has a loyal following and fills up with local events and bird watching season. Use the directions on their website to find it ( http://www.doscasitasensocorro.com ) --google maps and apple maps will take you to the wrong place.

Dos Casitas is charming and comfortable, with a great bed (always a priority for me) and lots of sweet extras, like little jars of owner Judy Kurtz's homemade apricot jam for us to take home. She brought us a coffee and light breakfast tray in the evening so we could have something in our stomachs when we left for the bosque at 6:15 a.m., and then made us a real breakfast when we returned a few hours later. Breakfast with other guests and Judy's expertise on the area were a lively addition. It's so wonderful to have these human encounters when traveling, as opposed to the sterility of a hotel! Thanks, Judy, we'll be back!

Downtown Historic B&B has been on my list since their open house last year. Finally, I got my…read morechance and it did not disappoint. It would be best just to give a play by play of our stay. Once we booked we arrived we followed the instructions on our confirmation. It gave us a code to a secure box where we were to find the rest of the details for our stay. It felt a lot like a scene from Clue. Fun! Inside looks exactly how you'd hope it to look based on the outside. It's filled with authentic built in furniture in solid sturdy wood. Ours was the Garden Room which was more of a suite than a room. In addition to the queen bed, there is also a separate room (like a living room) with a pull out couch. The living room has a door that leads out to a balcony that looks over the entire property. From there you can see a huge courtyard with a fireplace and luxurious lounge chairs, hammocks and benches. There is a pond, or more of a brook that runs through the back courtyard. I never determined if there were fish. The entire setting is a place for anyone but particularly those who want to take a few days to catch their breath. I sure did. In the morning the DH B&B served homemade quiche, multigrain pancakes, piping hot coffee and juice. If you are going to be in Albuquerque and are doing some comparisons, this one is more than just clean; it's delightful. I am a local. Even so, I'll be treating myself to this again..and again.

They also make all of the bathroom products in the rooms. Central location, easy to get to any of the main freeways and super close to the airport. I highly recommend trying Groves which is a 2 minute walk away for to go coffee, sweets or food. Very trendy little place with amazing homemade English muffins. Definitely worth supporting over the chain places in town. It made for a unique travel experience.
