It did take a while, but they told me this bc of corona because there were a lot of delays. It was fine because school was over and I was just laying by the pool. The only issue the computer had at the time was that it wouldn't charge properly and they quoted me at $368 to replace the board and the battery. When i got the computer back I was told by Luis (my technician) that everything was tested and to be in perfect working order, however, after getting my computer back i noticed immediately that the MagSafe port would get scaldingly hot. The surface of the computer would also get extremely hot and my MacBook charger was also starting to turn yellow and fray despite being just 2 months old. I knew that something was wrong and therefore brought it back for repairs once again. After about a week they told me that they had once again replaced the board, the battery, the charging port, and also added that since they didn't have my exact Logic Board in stock they upgraded it with a better processor "free of charge". I was immediately skeptical of someone upgrading my computer for free, and of course when i got my computer back, it was now having NEW issues with the battery. The battery indicator on my computer was displaying absurdly long amount times to charge (8.5 hours to full charge), it would die unexpectedly while at 6% battery life, and had a whole host of other issues. Instead of going back to SewellTech i took it to the Apple Store where they ran diagnostics and found that the battery had issues and needed to be replaced. I emailed David a copy of the failed battery diagnostics and was furious at him for lying to me and demanded that he refund me the cost of battery replacement. He asked me to bring in the computer so he could personally look at it himself, which I begrudgingly agreed to do. After looking at it for a few days he said he ran diagnostics and that the battery was perfectly fine and that my charger was most likely the issue. He also told me that Apple computers tend to be inexact and that the battery indicator can be off by several percent and that nothing i mentioned was unusual. Both his answers here are complete bullshit, and at this point I knew David was just trying to con me. My charger was only a few months old, had been inspected by Apple less than a week ago, and was confirmed to be perfectly fine by an Apple Store technician. I've also had multiple MacBooks and iMac's for almost 15 years and have never seen any MacBook have the type of battery issues that it currently has after David and his "technicians" performed "repairs". To be 100% certain I also called Apple afterwards and spoke to an Apple Technician who told me that the battery issues I was having are not normal and that David's explanation was 100% nonsense. To sum things up, going to SewellTech has been an absolute nightmare. David and his staff are grossly incompetent at performing repairs and they make up lies to cover up their shoddy work, hoping that people will be ignorant and naive enough to believe them. I also found out that despite being an Apple Authorized Servicer, when they replace parts on your computer they do not use original Apple Parts but instead use third party parts - which are often cheap and unreliable. This explained why my board was upgraded "free of charge" and why the battery was also failing Apple Diagnostics - because they weren't new and they weren't even Apple parts. Look folks, I really don't care where you go to get your computer fixed but please don't go here - David is a grade A con-artist and makes a living by defrauding his customers. David is also a complete asshole and a repugnant human being. My MacBook is now filled with cheap refurbished third-party parts, has a myriad of issues, and will have to be taken back to Apple for more repairs. I'm in the process of filing a complaint with the BBB and will be taking David to court for all losses. I'm sure David will reply to this post with some half-assed nonsense and falsehoods but don't believe any of it! This place shouldn't be called SewellTech, it should be called FooledYouTech

Each round gets a little more aggressive. This location quoted $200 more to clone a hard drive before replacing it (going from a factory spinner to solid state). This process involves inserting the new memory stick into an enclosure, selecting source, destination and clone in the software, letting it run 20 minutes, test booting from it, and removing the memory stick from the enclosure. The work is so trivial that most shops include it with the swap quote. Other shops charge about $10 for the incremental labor involved.

Benchmark IT & Telecom came to my house to help me with my new projector, this involved running a new HDMI cable and ethernet. The technician was on time and well versed. He showed me and my home respect and was very educated in his field. The install went great and fast and when complete he cleaned up his work area. Here's where Benchmark IT & Telecom excelled. An hour or so later, I found that a cable was knocked loose in my attic and I lost communication to some of my devices. I realized that this is something that happens sometimes with installs, but wondered how they would handle my call. I called the tech and he was very apologetic. He was happy to return and fix the issue ASAP. I unfortunately was not able to meet that day, but he gladly returned the next business day (with a second tech) and finished the job. To be clear, I know my technology, I've worked in this field for many years. These guys know their stuff. I will for sure call these guys for anything I need done Home Automation or Networking, they are trustworthy and great at what they do. Bravo for being a great business and for showing that there are honest people that still believe in getting the job done!
