We came here on a bit of a group day out so there was over 20 of us. The staff were very friendly…read moreand looked after us from start to finish with a smile. The food was fantastic though, perfectly cooked beef, crispy potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding straight from the oven. Doing a roast for so many people and then serving them all at the same time is hard, but they got every element on that plate bang on. The desert and cheese board to finish was equally impressive. I was expecting somewhere nice but they really surprised me with the quality they demonstrated. I will certainly be returning here... they have a great view of the river too and outside seating if it's a nice day. Thanks for having us!

Very very overpriced (£35 for 2 courses with no 1 course options - and only 4 very average mains…read moreto choose from), but not sure what we paid for - definitely not food or service. Even though it wasn't busy, the service was very slow and really unhelpful. I wasn't shown the bill at the end, we weren't asked if we wanted anymore drinks and had to ask for tea and coffee. The table next to us remained dirty, from the previous party, for 45 minutes before it was cleared. First time in a long time that I've felt genuinely ripped off, after paying over £115 for lunch. If the food or service are worth the money, then i don't mind higher bills, but both were below average.

I got the last space, but I couldn't see if overflow parking was available. The appetisers were very good and beautifully presented. The duck that my friend had looked wonderful. Our main courses were very good. The cod was lovely and the steaks were nice. My steak was a little fatty and I found the gristle very chewy on the end piece. I also like my triple cooked chips a little more crispy, but that's just my taste. The desserts were lovely and again beautifully presented. The ginger cake with chocolate mousse and the ganache plate were particularly good. The table next to us has the beef wellington and I would definitely order that if I went again. It looked phenomenal! Overall a lovely experience.

This restaurant excels at everything it seems..what a delight!…read more - Beautiful indoor and outdoor seating - Perfect service, attentive but not too much - Small thoughtful extras - Excellent food - Very well priced Came in for lunch. Had the 3 course lunch menu for £38 (what a steal!). Lamb belly for starter was delicious, well seasoned and put together dish. Mains I tried the pork collar which was very good but the house made black pudding was phenomenal, best I have ever had..inventively spiced, wish I could buy a kilo to take home. Dessert was fig leaf panna cotta, light and flavoursome. Had a coffee with dessert which was also excellent. Its very clear that they try to do everything to the best standard possible. Wish I lived closer.
