This place has changed a lot over the years. I don't eat here often. Maybe once or twice a year but…read morethe changes aren't for the best. The food has always been good but Now for the changes. A while back they split the restaurant by adding a huge wall in the center to divide it into a separate bar and restaurant. Which wasn't that bad since I never really ate here on the weekends. But this review is based on my most recent visit which was on a Friday. Our party was seated on the bar side because there weren't any open tables on the restaurant side but we were far from the band and we couldn't even think it was so loud. And maybe we could've sat on the other side of the restaurant but they took half the restaurant side and turned it into a vr gaming area that went unused the entire time we there which was around 6:30 to almost 8pm. So there weren't many seat anywhere. The food took forever to come out. Some of the dishes ordered weren't good, some were decent but overall subpar compared to past dining experiences here. Needless to say we won't be back and I can no longer recommend this restaurant, especially if you're looking for a good family dining experience. They're catering the partying and drinking crowd and no longer serving a good dining experience.

Rarely have I ever left a restaurant before placing an order, but our recent experience at The…read moreBoathouse Restaurant made that decision easy. We've dined there many times--the food is decent, though overpriced--and the service has always been hit or miss. Unfortunately, our last visit (and it will be our last) crossed the line. My wife asked for a sweet tea with no lemon, and I ordered a diet coke. The server returned with our drinks, and sure enough, her tea had a large lemon wedge floating in it. She politely reminded the server of her request, who then stormed off, came back with a new glass, and slammed it down on the table. That kind of behavior is unacceptable. We don't have time for childish tantrums, so we stood up and walked out.

I do have to say the service was on the part. We found the site inviting and comfortable--very relaxed and welcoming. We started with the Whole Big Pretzel with beer and cheese. It appeared to be fresh, but not sure. My wife has fried pickle chips. They are wenn breaded, and the breading did not slide off them when you took a bite--a hallmark of properly fried pickles. We next moved on to the salad. I had the Caesar, and she had the Sunrise mixed greens salad. I opted for the Blue Cheese dressing, and she the honey mustard. Sadly the Blue Cheese was not all that great; the honey mustard was far better and would be my choice in the future. For Entree, my wife had the grilled salmon, which was perfectly seasoned, grilled, and not dried out like most grilled salmon. The Jalamango glazed is unique. Finally, I opted for the Chicken & Shrimp Carbonara. I must say the Alfredo sauce was decent. However, I do suspect it is premade and not made in-house. It is recommended enter, though, and give the choices. I would have probably opted for the Mystic View rice, either steak or chicken, in the future. Or even the Fish Tacos. The best sides are the Mac & Cheese, Home Style Fries, and loaded Bakes potatoes are the best choices. In hindsight, I would have selected the White Oak Ribeye Steak, which weighs about 12 oz but is a better option for meat lovers in a Fish Place. We topped it off with Chocolate Lava Cake, which I loved, and my wife had the Peacn Cheesecake, which was terrific. All in all a positive experience, and I would be recommended if you are in the area.

I had the Bistro Salad to start with ham, although there is a Shrimp as option. My wife had the Steak and Bacaras Bleu, the steak tips were cooked to perfection combined with in house made croutons it was a true delight. For an authentic taste of Germany, I highly recommend this hidden gem. Cumberland Plateau. Chef Kurt offers a different menu every night, based on locally sources ingredients available. For the main course, I had Kurt's Ribeye and my wife had the Grilled Chicken Breast with the fresh garden pilaf, for desert we had Crème brûlée accompanied with Cafe Mocha, that truly topped off a gourmet dinner. The decor amazing as it is located inside an 1800s school house, the decor takes you back to long ago around the 1800s. It is a charming restaurant with delicious food.

It seemed like a great concept, old school German guy pumping out awesome, unique German dishes. However, you will not get that here. The poor cook had Parkinson's Disease as noted by the waitress several times. The place was cold, dreary, and had a massive amount of issues. Literally there are so many I cannot list them. I just would not go. After leaving, I kept Googling to see if others had this experience.
