Women's area has private showers and bathrooms, after changing you can enjoy all the spa amenities before and after your massage such as the hot jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, pool. There is lemon/citrus ice water, refrigerator of bottled water, fresh fruit waiting for you after your refreshing sauna and steam room stay. Their massage therapists are great, deep tissue massages are great, we always come here when on Maui, ya have to get a day of pampering!! read more

On our first morning here we called the Montage to see if they had any rooms available. They said they get that a lot from Ritz Kapalua guests. For reference, I would put properties like Dove Mountain Ritz or Niko Japan Ritz at a 10 in terms of overall experiences. If we're using those as the standard, the Ritz at Kapalua gets rated a 3. (For reference we are Marriott Ambassador and Titanium Elite, respectively) The pros: Located at Makaluapuna point in Kapalua, there is excellent whale watching from the cliffs. There's Oneloa beach next door with Ironwood cliffs for a nice daily walk. The cons: The folks staying here act like they've never been anywhere. Truly abhorrent behavior. This is not your home, this is a public space. Act accordingly. As a result, I think the staff are just fresh out from dealing with entitled haoles and it shows. I dont blame them but the Aloha is severely lacking as a result. It's noticeable and a bummer. When we arrived at 10 pm, the valet asked us if we wanted a cart for our luggage. At a Ritz its customary to have an associate who handles getting luggage to your room. Strange first impression that made sense as time went on. Many of the associates seem like they are temp or maybe new. The rooms are TIRED. Like 20 years past their prime tired. Room cleaning is at an absolute minimum. Turn down service is literally pulling one corner of your bed sheet down and closing the curtains. I think they are understafffed. This location needs to shut down and and undergo a major reboot and probably needs new management. The restaurants are very mediocre and the prices are absurd. At the spa, we had to endure listening to a DJ blast Soula Boy remixes in the outdoor relaxation area like it was Cancun on Spring Break. Once again, did I mention how poorly behaved the guests are? This was the worst part of the experience by far. Ive generally avoided hotels in the islands preferring a private home rental and I will absolutely avoid this one in the future. We have been coming to this resort annually for 7 years and returned year after year because of our nice memories and the caring, personal service. Our visit last year in July 2025 was great despite having the stress of a young toddler in tow. Most recently, we were very disappointed by our experience here. The Ritz has become much more expensive, and the service has steeply declined. The staff at the hotel can't be bothered to help, even if you are struggling to carry your own towels to the pool along with a small child. Service is slow with many forgotten items but often no apologies offered at the restaurant. One of the women working at the cafe was downright rude to us and ignored us even though we were there at the opening with only 1 other customer there. We tipped generously and were always thankful but it felt like pulling teeth. The hotel feels much more corporate and has lost that magic feeling we experienced in prior visits. This is not the fault of the staff since the hotel seemed very understaffed. I know June is busy, but the Ritz should invest in hiring more temp staff in order to bridge this gap. If you are charging luxury prices, you should deliver a certain experience. We spent half our vacation at the Four Seasons and will likely switch permanently to staying there on future vacations because it was such a better experience. read more

I absolutely LOVED the Ritz in Maui. It is easily one of my favorite hotels I have ever been to and I can't even believe it. First of all, the views are epic. Their lobby view is out of this world. Overlooking the pools and directly into the ocean. The ultimate Maui experience. The rooms are nice and give off the island feel. The gym has everything you need for a vacation workout. The beach access is great. It's feels like a private beach but it's not. You never need to leave the resort. Everything I ate here was solid. The pools are great. They have kid friendly and adult pools as well as separate hot tubs. Pickleball, basketball, golf. What else could you want? Steps away from Dragons teeth which is pretty cool. I went here for my honeymoon with my now husband to enjoy the spa and all of its amenities. I have had a massage at various ritz locations and this was by far the worst. My husband and I got the couples massage and my husband had a massage that was great! His masseuse asked him how the pressure was, checked in with the pressure, etc throughout his massage. He got off the massage bed super relaxed! On the other hand, I laid on the massage bed for 90 minutes and just got lotion rubbed on my body. If I wanted that, I would have stayed at the pool and just simply asked my husband to rub in my sunscreen... since that's exactly what it felt like. There was little pressure, so much so, that when the masseuse had got to my legs it tickled because how softly her hands were touching my skin.... for a massage that my husband received the exact same kind, but said the pressure was extremely tough. I asked the masseuse about 20 minutes in if she could go harder, after she didn't check in for that entire duration since she just was lathering me with creams... and I was told it would be an upgrade for deep tissue... while my husband laid next to me getting his back worked. I asked a total of FOUR times throughout the 90 minutes and in the last 20 she used all her strength on my neck... thanks I guess? I couldn't enjoy the 90 minutes because of how horrible it was so instead of relaxing I was just upset. To settle this, I spoke with the manager. She gave 20% off my massage only. Before complaining I noticed a gift for my husband and I with our names on it behind the counter. Well, after my complaint discount, we got our gifts subbed for the basic bath salts. HA! As for the amenities, they were very nice and clean however the sauna didn't work and wasn't turned on the entire time I was in it and the cold plunged BEEPED for the entirety of my time "relaxing." I would not go back and rather of had a 2nd massage at the montage down the way. Cheaper, better amenities, better massage, and much better service. read more

I promise this will be the best facial you may have. Nice environment, very nice staff and, the actual facial is like no other. If you want to splurge on a facial, this is honestly the place. Plus, you have all day access to the indoor and outdoor hot tubs, steam room, hot sauna and quiet area. I know it's a lot of money and I would typically NEVER spend this much. But, I'm so very happy that I did. For two people, it comes to just over $600.00 including tips and, the valet parking is free. GO!! Do it and you'll be so happy!! read more

Amazing views and nice hotel soap and shampoo that they offer. It's an expensive hotel so it's no joke that they offer high quality soap and shampoo! One problem with the hotel is that there was a weird smell that I am not familiar with. It's not like any other hotel aroma that I experienced. It's unique and distinct but it's alright. Maui is beautiful all around with different trees and it's a nice view that this hotel offered. Loved the experience, and the value of what you get. I recently visited their competitor, the GW in Wailea and they are leaps and bounds better! First of all, with your spa appointment you get ALL Day Amenities access from opening time until 4pm. Unlike other resorts that only give you only 1 hour beforehand. At the Ritz, you actually have time to just relax before and after your treatment. Even their snacks are much better. They recently added a PLUNGE tub in the woman's side (not sure about the men, but I'm going to guess it would need to be fair to have one on the men's side too). And the power jets in the hot tub are strong and they keep their water hot so you actually get a proper heat treatment! And, they take care of the locals, they just introduced promotional treatments and prices for a limited time (during the slow season in Sept/Oct) with a Hawaiian driver's license. And lastly, they accept Spa Finder certificates. Loved the facial service, and will return in the future to try out their massages. Thank you Ritz, made my vacation. read more

Love my stay at the Ritz- Carlton Maui. We stayed at room number 31, the Club Lounge Ocean view and pool view with big balcony. From the moment that we walked in Grace at the front made us feel welcome. Our room was spacious and nicely decorated. We loved it. The hotel is upscale with several pools and the pools were opened 24 hours. The hotel is not a direct beach front but you can walk or take a golf cart to the beach which felt kind of private because it is not over crowded. - [ ] We took the free shuttle to Napali beach, a good beach for snorkeling. It was great that we did not have to deal with the parking. The club lounge was awesome. Thank you Laura and the club lounge team for wonderful service. They serve meals 5 times a day and the food was great! I had Chocolate Martini at the lounge and loved it. We love the Banyan restaurant and restaurant by the lobby bar as well. The food was good. We walked to the Italian restaurant close to the Ritz one night. The souvenir shop was located within the walking distance as well. Today I had the luxury of indulging in a 50 minute deep tissue massage with Piper at The Ritz-Carlton Spa. The spa was serenely decorated and the staff was centered and full of aloha. After leaving the spa we enjoyed a light lunch of caprese flatbread at a poolside bar. Aleiyeh made lunch even more enjoyable because she was so kind and pleasant to talk story with. We stayed at this property many years ago (before Marriott acquired them) and it was lovely. Everything you would expect from the Ritz brand. However, we went last week and it was a very different vibe and not in a good way. First our room was not the room we reserved and paid for. We had to pull up our confirmation to prove we paid for a suite. The suite view was the back of a restaurant where you were looking at deliveries, garbage, etc. seriously? we wen to hang out at that pool area......not great. Pool attendants were not helpful, the overall pool area was a bit disheveled. used towels laying around (with no one clearly using them), old food trays sitting out, the vide was just off. We had dinner at the bar and the staff were ok.....but kind of felt like I was in a mediocre sports but rather than a Ritz Carlton. We got back to our room and the tv didn't work......had to call to get someone to fix.....he was the highlight. he was great to talk to and entertained us while fixing the tv issue. we decided we couldn't stay here for the planned week. we called front desk and explained our displeasure and that we would be checking out the next day. we ended up at the Four Seasons and what a difference........Sadly it seem The Ritz has not maintained its specialness. read more

Best massage we ever had. My wife had Jessica and I had Danielle. My wife said she enjoyed her lomi lomi and that was the best massage she ever had. I too, had the best massage ever. Both Danielle and Jessica did a spectacular job, hitting all the muscles we wanted them to focus on. I would recommend this spa and these two. Brother Mone was also very welcoming and helpful on the men's side on making sure we are taken care of. Loved their ammeneties; each side has their own relaxation area, jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna. Bathrooms and showers were clean and had everything for personal hygiene. They also have a co-Ed relaxation area with jacuzzi. Staff were very welcoming. We were very happy with our service here. This is a beautiful hotel. I mean, I could write an entire essay praising The Ritz in Maui! My partner and I just returned from a 5-day, 4-night stay at their property in Maui, and we were both in awe of everything! From the gorgeous property, to the views, to the valet staff, Joy greeting us the day we got in, to the rooms.... I can go on and on! Let me start by mentioning Jorge, one of the valet attendants, who also welcomed us with a smile, took note of my partner's handicapped plaque, and was extremely helpful, kind, and courteous. Back to Joy again. When we got to The Ritz there was this beautiful lady snapping her fingers to the beat of music playing, with a huge smile on her face who saw us and literally welcomed us with open arms, and right away we knew we were going to love this place. After Joy guided us to the reception to check-in, which was super fast and easy, we looked out towards the beach and the views, WOW, just spectacular. The lounge area that looks out to the resorts various pools, grassy area, and to the beach left us breathless. Our king room was great as well, with a comfy bed, coffee maker, private mini fridge, two closets, balcony overlooking the golf course next door, with a view of the ocean, and a beautiful bathroom with double sinks, a standing shower, a (separate) tub, and a private water closet. The pool area is just as gorgeous, with plenty of cabanas, lounge chairs, towel service, and wait staff for drink/food orders. Down by the private beach you will also find a delicious burger place. Because my partner does have some limited mobility, we loved that you can request a golf cart ride down to the beach and burger place, and back up to the resort when you are done. I mean, this place has thought of everything and everyone! I will end by saying that we also really appreciated that on day 1, all the staff we encountered called us by our names, ALL of the time. From Joy, to the valet staff, to the wait staff. Kudos to them all! This was our very first trip to Hawaii, and I thank the staff at The Ritz for making this vacation so memorable. read more

My fiance and I visited the spa at the Ritz-Carlton on the day of our engagement. The experience was both relaxing and memorable. We drank tea, relaxed in the hot tub, and got a couple's massage. The tea was tasty. The outdoor hot tub area was small but enjoyable since it was secluded from the general public and quiet. Our couple's massage was excellent. The masseuses focused on every muscle area we were having issues with. We appreciate the extensive amenities offered. Overall, we think that the service and amenities offered made this a good deal. We went to the spa at the hotel. The massage was great, the amenities were nice. The only thing that was lacking, in my opinion, was ice cold Cucumber or lemon water. They had bottles of room temperature water available but it just didn't quench my thirst. Lol The steam room there is intense! So much steam! And eucalyptus! There's also a dry sauna & a hot tub in a clothing optional, separate sexes area. Then there's also a mixed sexes hot tub outdoors. The dressing room was fully equipped with lockers, robes & slippers, private, spacious showers, soaps, facial cleaners, moisturizer, razors, sun screen, makeup mirrors, blow dryer, mouth wash. The masseuse was very communicative & addressed the areas I mentioned. It wasn't the best massage I've ever had but it was definitely a great one. It was on the expensive side but considering the location (nice resort in Hawaii) it was on par for what one would expect to pay. For the price would have been better to stay elsewhere. We have stayed at many Ritz hotels and by far this hotel is at the bottom. The level of the Maui Ritz is the same as any Marriott but over twice the price. My suggestion would be for the hotel leadership to stay at other Ritz hotels to better understand what the normal Ritz experience is. The Club Lounge has the same food every day with everything in the exact same location. Hours of operation of the lounge did not meet the needs of the guests other than breakfast. The employees that worked in both the Lounge and valet were awesome. The room furniture is dated and uncomfortable. The room had a great balcony but no light to sit out at night. My checkout experience said it all: The desk employee said how was your experience and I said Just OK but honestly disappointed. His answer was "Good" For the price, value and experience I would recommend that you stay elsewhere. read more

I had the opportunity to visit the Waihua Spa twice during my 5 day stay at the Ritz Carlton. The first day I arrived at the Hotel, I called the Spa from my room for an emergency Manicure as I urgently needed it after coming from hiking a few days in Kauai, my nail polish had pealed off and they were in bad shape. They kindly squeezed me in which was awesome!!! MANICURE - 3 STARS The manicurist was extremely nice and very social. I was offered champagne while I was getting my nails done. They used high quality products and oils with lovely scents which was really pleasant, however the polish wasn't done well. The manicurist unfortunately didn't paint the side edges of my nails to add they literally started pealing the next day! I did point out some parts to her where not painted while she was putting on the polish but I was also was in a bit of a rush that particular day as my husband was waiting to meet me for some drinks in the hotel lobby, we were in our honeymoon so I was in the mood to finish my nails asap and head to meet up my husband. I honestly felt super tempted to go back to the spa the next day and show them how bad the polish looked and how it was already pealing, but I honestly didn't want to be that person giving the complaint or get the manicurist in trouble as she was really really nice. It was also the most expensive manicure I have ever paid for $50.00, they also add 20% so yea $60.00 was a bit much... I understand this is a luxury spa but I have to say the quality of the manicure didn't match so much with the price. If it did then I guess this would justify the cost since I completely understand it is a high end spa. I do recommend maybe the manager check the quality of the manicures, perhaps I was simply unlucky... COUPLES MASSAGE- 5 STARS The third day of our stay, my husband and had a booked couples massage package. I was a bit hesitant after my manicure experience to return. I thought about maybe going to a nearby spa which would also be less expensive but I decided to go give it a second shot as I had also read in an article this spa was in the Top 10 Spas in Maui http://www.prideofmaui.com/blog/activities/top-spas-on-maui.html, so I didn't want to base my entire experience of the "Waihua Spa" on a single manicure so I decided to stick to the second appointment! My husband also insisted we do it at the hotel as we were staying in the same floor and it would be convenient to not have to drive anywhere. We arrived an hour prior to our appointment to enjoy the spa facilities, which I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! They have a semi outdoor coed relaxation room with Jacuzzi, in addition to a separate men and woman relaxation room which each includes steam rooms, sauna, and Jacuzzi. ALL of the staff was super polite and as you walked around. I somehow locked myself out of my locker and they quickly assisted me to unlock it. All of the waiting rooms had water and tea along with fruit and some snacks which was also very pleasant. I am very happy to stay the couples massage was truly fantastic experience! We did the "Signature Cocolicious" 80 minutes ($250 per person) Both my husband and I were in the same room. They started us off by sitting us down and bringing each us a cup of wonderful herbal tea, as they washed our feet with scented water, this was followed by a full body exfoliation. We were then asked to shower in private showers adjacent to our room. After the shower we each received a full body massage. The massage made me understand how this Spa is #4 in the top 10. My masseuse Piper was excellent and definitely saved my impression of the Spa! (Sorry I don't remember my husband's masseuse name) Definitely a Spa experience we will never forget! I don't think she knew what to say or do as she kept repeating herself which made it frustrating as if she wasn't listening/hearing us. She blamed us for not knowing information they said they called to confirm and left a message (do holidays count?) - which they did not...then changed tried to cover herself and said when you book the information is there. Spring break get-away for my boys and myself. Service is fantastic as one would expect from a 5-Star hotel. Was greeted with shell lei's and a superb drink that had lychee (my fav!). The property is gorgeous but almost took off one star as I personally think the amenities needs an update. Rooms were meh as I expected more. Compared to other 5-Star hotels, the bathroom needs a major facelift! Convenient ABC store is nearby - a 3 minutes walk away... and Sansei, the best sushi on this side of the island at least, is also 3 minutes away. Overall still a 5-star experience! read more

Just wrote a scorching review about a terrible experience at the Royal Hawaiian, so feel that I owe Marriott a glowing review for our five-night stay at this hotel. The place was fantastic! We booked two rooms for Christmas week and the place was busy - but we never felt like the staff was overwhelmed or absent. The team working here was super. The room was terrific, and the lounge and pools always clean and accommodating. Food and beverage service on the property was excellent. We were able to relax without struggling in any way. In fact, all the guests at this hotel seemed relaxed and enjoying themselves - the vibe was perfect. Families with small kids even seems to have their youngsters calm and quiet. Our only regret was that we didn't extend our stay an additional five nights and instead moved on to the Royal Hawaiian in Honolulu - which was in EVERY way the antithesis of our Maui experience. Keep doing what you are doing in Maui, but consider restarting your Waikiki experiment. read more

I know I'm in Maui at Ritz Carlton but I figured they'd only charge me as if it were 1 service. Total for a 25 minute manicure (nail filing, cut, buff) and 25 minute pedicure (file, cut, buff, and scrub), no polish for either (which I was fine with) was $190 after tax and (included) gratuity. Pretty insane and when the manager came to speak to me she stated they charge for the "service" not for the time. (So if I would have just gotten 1 full 50 minute service it would have been 1/2 the price.) My entire Ritz Carlton experience is soured from their spa. Cancelled massages we had booked here later in our stay & will never stay at this hotel again. read more

Had the best massage of my life here, and now am hooked on Ritz Carlton spas. It's an expensive habit to have but so worth it!! I got an 80 minute Lomi Lomi massage ($255) with Laura, and she was absolutely phenomenal. She worked out kinks I didn't even know I had! Everything from the heated table, to the robe warmer (seriously, a rack to hang your robe on to keep it warm during your massage!) to the music playing and the robes they give you to wear screams luxury here. Make sure to give yourself enough time to fully enjoy the space. I unfortunately was unable to stay very long after my massage since I we had dinner reservations and I needed to get ready. The eucalyptus aromatherapy room was one of my favorite things here. There's a sauna and steam room in there, along with a whirlpool. So relaxing to just sit and unwind. The co-ed lounge was very nice too. There's water, tea and snacks for you to enjoy while you wait for your treatment, or to have after you're done. One thing especially to note is the showers are ah-mazing. The showers in the rooms are already great, but these in the spa are aromatherapy and vitamin C infused. How they do that I have no clue, but it was one of the best showers I've ever had lol. If you are looking for a luxury spa experience while in Maui, definitely come here. I booked the tropical Awa Nui Journey 110 minute treatment (full body sea salt exfoliation, body wrap, Lomilomi massage, scalp massage, foot treatment) and it was extraordinary. My skin has never felt more soft and silky as it did after my treatment. Angela was a skilled and intuitive treatment provider, as well as a down-to-earth person -- I would definitely recommend her, especially for this 110 minute treatment. I took full advantage of the spa -- facilities were very clean, uncrowded, and well-appointed. Staff was friendly, helpful, and mellow. I especially appreciated the sauna (which I had all to myself) -- perfect temperature and scented of eucalyptus. Wonderful experience, and a delightful treat. Looking forward to returning. read more
