I am happy to post this review since August is National Black Business Month, a time to celebrate and support Black-owned businesses and entrepreneurs in the United States. The Rite Spot Restaurant is a gem found in my hometown in Saginaw, Michigan. The co-owners, husband and wife team, Leon & Natasha Burns, since 2003 have spent countless hours developing a menu and an environment that keeps customers coming back for more. Their famous tacos are the show stoppers! Iykyk If your are not preparing these Saginaw style tacos yourselves, this is the next best option without the cleanup afterward. On this recent visit we ordered eight taco dinners for the family - 4 beef and 4 turkey. They went soooo fast that I didn't get one photo of the tacos! Delicious!!! You have to trust me and go try them for yourself. You will not be disappointed! Note: They are closed on Sundays and Mondays. They play too much. I ain't eat here so I can't leave a bad review but, they was in there tryna crack jokes literally as soon as we walked. Asking me something and I said some "I don't even really know what's going on." I'm literally here to buy food. But! The grill was down we ain't get nothing anyways. They was in there acting like they was stabbing eachother???? Glad I didn't accidentally go through the side door, prolly would've got stabbed (Thank you to the person chillin outside in their car. The best food ever made on Lapeer Ave in Saginaw Mi and the service was amazing as well we loved the Rite Spot.

I am obsessed. The tacos are amazing... the catfish is excellent, even the burgers. Love this place.

Good home cooked food. Everything is good. One of my favorite places to stop by when traveling back home.

Food is goddamn cold, Service is bad and the wait times up to 4 hours like WTF. That's all out of my mind.

I love THIS place!! They have turkey tacos and if you like Kool -Aid, then you have to try theirs. I've never had tacos like these. It is like they drop them in a deep fryer and the tacos come out juicy and hot with a great flavor. I added all of the normal toppings of lettuce, cheese, sour cream, and salsa. They had quite a few options for dessert, and the next time I bosot I'll have to try the breakfast! I bet it all tastes great! Every single one of the employees were kind, helpful, and they all smiled. I don't think I see that often anywhere. The restaurant isntkny, but we we t close to closing time and it was not overly crowded. I didn't feel rushed to hurry and eat because they told us to take our time. Great food great prices. Reminds me of home cooked meals from back in the day. The catfish is pretty good, the Mac and cheese is always recommended. Every plate has given me enough food for two meals so the portions are also fantastic. Just make sure to order ahead of time around lunch, they get busy. read more

Not in a good side of town so be very cautious also some strange people hang around outside making it very scary to get out of your car. Food has no flavor at all I have no idea how this place is open seams like a gimmick to me. I wanted to try the food so I did was very disappointed. Don't expect any hospitality because these people are straight rude no smile at all no greeting nothing but stares and dirty looks. Way to scare your customers away. Beans and rice tasted like they came straight outta can. Ground beef was dry and felt like I was eating chalk. The Rite Spot is great. They have great tacos, great burgers, and great desserts. If it is your first time there, try the tacos. They're deep fried, so if you like little crunchy tacos get corn; if you like crispy puffy tacos get flour. If you want a burger, try the Godfather. I've only had it once, and it was hilariously large. The menu says a half pound, but the two patties I got were at least a half pound each. My takeout box wouldn't even close over it. The only real negatives would be that this is a tiny diner in a part of town that regularly sees some of the more violent activity Saginaw is known for. I work at a school in the neighborhood, so I'm used to it; but if you're worried just order your food take-out. It gets pretty hot in the summer anyway. read more

This is one of the better restaurants that provide soul food in the Saginaw area. Everything is freshly cooked and the portions are nothing to laugh at. One of their claims to fame would be their tacos. For some reason, their ground beef mixture is unbelievably good. I've never been able to figure out what seasonings they use. Their tacos have become so popular at my workplace that we have jokingly dubbed them "Crack Tacos" because they are highly addictive. read more
