Picture a day that was a little cloudy, fog in the hills, and the sound of a steam locomotive in the distance. Traveling up the single-track trail in the forest felt like we had gone back in time. Our guides were so great, so informative, and helpful. We chatted about just about everything, but mostly horses and how to interact with them. The horse was a perfect fit, calm and clearly experienced with young riders. They engaged her directly and talked to her, chatting like old friends. It truly turned our whole day around. They even let my 1 year old sit with her for a picture and one of the staff held him as they walked around, letting him pet and coo at the mare. After that, it was on to the arena & Valentine, a real horse Rusty Bar Ranch owner and trainer, Kathy really knows horses & also cares about them. She was such a kind & patient teacher. I felt totally comfortable & at ease. She teaches at every level, depending on the student.
