They have a discount on store purchases when you take a cooking class so that's also a nice little bonus. I'd definitely come back and take another class. I am extremely disappointed with the way my 16-year-old daughter was treated at the Sur La Table…read morecooking camp. My daughter has Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), a disabling condition that prevents her from standing for long periods. During the first two days of camp, my husband explained her condition to the staff, and they provided a chair so she could fully participate without unnecessary pain. On June 24, however, Chef Josh Sziranko handled the situation very differently. When my daughter politely asked for a chair, he questioned why she needed one. After she explained that she had a medical condition, he dismissed her request, threw up his hands in frustration, and refused to provide the accommodation that had already been given the previous two days. As a result, my daughter was forced to stand far longer than she could physically tolerate, causing a severe CRPS flare-up. Weeks later, she was still experiencing increased pain because of what happened. She was even unable to finish the remainder of the camp because of the pain. What disappointed me just as much was the lack of response from management. I contacted the store immediately after the incident and spoke with Casey, who said General Manager Kathleen would call me. Kathleen called the following day and said she would handle the complaint. Still, after that, despite another follow-up call from me, we never received an update, an apology, or any indication that the matter was taken seriously. A business that welcomes children should also know how to treat children with disabilities. A simple chair had already been approved and provided by staff on previous days, yet my daughter's request was dismissed, causing her unnecessary pain. I hope Sur La Table takes this experience seriously, provides disability awareness and ADA accommodation training to its staff, and ensures that no other child or customer with a disability is treated this way. I cannot recommend this location based on our experience.

With that being stated, I very well know, when good customer service is being delivered, via phone & in person. The first thing that I noticed, was the pleasant & most friendly voice from the receiver. The first quality of exemplary customer service is patience. Which is what was given throughout the conversation. What is most notable with regards to excellent service, is when a business can back up its claims. And A-1 delivered just that. In ways in which they could not assist me, I was referred to another vendor that carries the product that was needed. By doing this, this showed business integrity. The willingness to assist the public at the expense of possibly loosing that customer to another business. In reference to the previous negative review, let me just state this fact. We are all human, which means we are fallible, subject to errors & mistakes. Most of the time, the owner of a business is not aware of the mishaps until the fall out begins. Be patient with one another by giving consideration and courtesy for each of us to correct a wrong, before bashing each other businesses. Kindness begets kindness. Karma is karma, which sets no one above the other. What you sow unto others, maybe sown to you as well. Thank you Miss. Leslie. I will be visiting your establishment this Friday. I have no doubt, you will be just as pleasant in person.

I was still given a functioning kitchen every night. The job they did was beautiful and the end result was better than I even thought it would be. They removed old tile, put up new that they helped me choose, did those gorgeous wood shelves and repainted all our cabinets. Gave us new hardware and kept everything spotless while they worked. When I had a small issue they came out that day and fixed it, and then went on to do the same minor fix on every drawer! We were super impressed. I can't recommend them highly enough. This last trip I picked up various sizes of squeeze bottles because I needed a big one for some simple syrup I made earlier in the day. I also picked up a sweet oyster shucker for my dad. They take cards, but you don't pay a convenience fee with cash. Long story long: My granulated sugar became one giant solid one pound block so I had to melt it down with water to be able to use it. I originally thought about ordering the squeeze bottles online, but decided to pick one up on a whim here. It was only $0.81 for a 24 oz. bottle and it definitely saved me money since I didn't pay for any shipping. I ended up purchasing a few squeeze bottles because I love to make sauces and dressings at home and they are pretty cool to use to make cool designs and dollops on your food. Yah fancy, I know, but it's pretty hard to find these bigger sizes at your local supermarket. The lady who rung me up checked all of the prices and was so patient. And she even let me take a mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cup from her candy jar. How nice, right?
