We moved our parents to the Residence several years ago when we determined they needed extra care and to be closer to family. The staff at the Residence has always been very helpful, especially as our mother developed dementia. At a given point, the staff suggested a memory care unit for her, which meant that mom and dad would have to live separately. There was some personal trauma by executing that decision, but we all made it through. Within weeks, our mother was put under hospice care and was allowed to remain in her own little apartment. The staff were so generous with their care for mom and allowed members of the family to stay all night in the apartment as we waited for the inevitable. Dad remains there today, and he loves and prays every day for staff and residents. Of course, there are minor issues that pop up from time to time that may give us pause, but overall, we are grateful for the good care our parents received at the Residence. read more

I seldom write reviews of any kind but really need to let others know what a wonderful and professional place The Residence at Timber Pines represents. I was the trustee for my aunt and uncle, Raymond and Karola Passage. Eight years ago, the time came that I had to put on my big boy pants and move Ray and Karola into "The Residence." I searched for a suitable assisted living location for almost a year because I knew they would need a memory care component. My only regret is I did not move them into The Residence sooner. They both needed memory care and the Sand Pearl unit at The Residence was a perfect fit. Neither Ray or Karola were happy to move but within a few short days, because of the knowledge, care, and loving administrators and staff, they both were smiling and enjoying their new life. They both loved the activities, food, apartment, and interaction with everyone. I loved how much care they received down to the washing of their clothes, the supervised activities and bus rides, and many trips my aunt did to the in-house beauty salon. Raymond passed away three years ago and Karola passed away last month on October 31, she was almost 92. The staff called her the president of Sand Pearl. Using the term staff is truly not reflective of who were the care providers at The Residence. They are all angels! The Sand Pearl nurses, Vicky and Robert, and members of the care and support team, Joe, Fatima, Ahn, Victoria, Mark, and many more were all a daily presence in the lives of Ray and Karola. They also were on the front line when Karola went on the war path and was not having a good day. I called every day and visited often, many times to find the staff comforting, caring for, or simply just having a conversation with Ray or Karola. After Ray passed away, the care providers provided extra attention to Karola. I have personally witnessed everyone at The Residence helping in similar ways for others as well, not just my family. I know of people who are generous and care about those they help. I never expected to find a facility full of the same warm and caring angels. Reading this, you too are probably thinking having that many people caring for others with love and compassion all in the same place is impossible. Visit The Residence and you can see for yourself. There are many more angels at The Residence that must be mentioned. Michelle and Jane are the two receptionists I interacted the most when I called daily. They new my name and phone number and always answered the phone with "hello Michael or Mikey." I'm 62 and everyone still calls me Mikey. Michelle and Jane, even with the phone ringing of the hook, could still manage to make me feel like I was the only one they were talking to. And that phone rings all day and all night. Lori Freeman, the director of nursing, and Maria Sabo, Resident Care Coordinator, where always available for me to discuss the needs of Ray and Karola. Even when Ray or Karola were taken to the hospital or rehab facilities, Lori or Maria, sometimes both, and even Vicki would visit them to check up on them. Recently, as Karola's health declined, she needed to be sent to a skilled nursing facility for rehabilitation services. My hope was Karola would recover and be able to return to The Residence. I discussed all of Karola's medical issues with Lori and Maria. They had also visited her at the nursing facility. In the big picture, Karola's return to The Residence was my goal and wish. Lori and Maria also held out hope but also explained that although I wanted to be hopeful Karola could return, they gently and professionally explained everything that helped me determine that Karola may not return. Lori's words rang true to me when she said even though The Residence may cost less for Karola's care, right now, the care Karola needs is at the nursing facility, and "we are only interested in what is best for her." They were gently telling me in their experience, my love bug aunt Karola was most likely not going to return to The Residence. It was not about the money or filling a bed, their concern was about Karola's health and comfort. There was much more said, but I hope you can understand in my writing, that they were first and foremost concerned about Karola. They also said in so many words that my sweet aunt may make the decision for me about if she will return to The Residence and they were right, it was only a week and a half after I spoke with them that Karola passed away. There are many more wonderful folks at the Residence that I have met and also deserve the same mention even if I cannot name everyone. There are some wonderful Activities directors and staff lead by Debra Pacheco and Tami Stahley. Even I have never had so much fun playing bingo with all of those residing in the Sand Pearl unit. We had to move our parents into Timber Pines after our dad's strokes, and it has been wonderful. The staff are amazing and the facilities are spectacular. The food can get a bit exotic for my parents, who are just good country people, but otherwise good. Their cafeterias look more like restaurants! Fitness rooms on every level, rides to church, shopping and doctors so they don't feel like they are trapped unless we get them. The director is very personable and never hesitates to talk with us about any concerns. Stellar! read more

My parents started at Timber Pines in an Assisted Living apartment, but after my mother died, dad had to be moved to the memory care unit, Pearl Gardens. While this place is top notch in terms of beauty and amenities, what makes Timber Pines most stellar is their staff: these folks are the most loving and caring people you'll ever meet. They loved and cared for my parents as though they were their own. I simply couldn't recommend them more. Thank you, Timber Pines... you all are amazing! read more
