The rescue was so easy to work with and let us meet them each a couple of times to ensure which would fit our family best. They were timely with their responses, and they sent us all of the necessary paperwork completely and promptly. The fosters were nice people, and the dogs were both well cared for. The process went well and was ethical (home visit and interview required to ensure you were a good owner). We have pointed a number of friends their way, and they have had positive experiences as well. We are obsessed with our 8 year old coonhound, and are so grateful we worked with this rescue.

(Stray Cat Strut) Huge thank you to Last Hope for taking in the sweetest stray cat that wandered into my care, strutting right by with her tail in the air in December. She was too much of a princess to get her dinner from a garbage can, or get a shoe thrown at her from a mean old man! Red Wing doesn't have animal control, and all local shelters were full. The foster-based Camp Companion rescue also never responded back after I filled out their online form...so the situation was getting desperate! Last Hope became my literal last hope, responding immediately that they would be able to place her in foster care after being vetted at a clinic in Burnsville. I was so impressed with their communication and caring--I can't recommend them highly enough! They really do have cat class and cat style!

A couple years ago, I lost my second heart kitty at age 17. A few weeks later, I went to AHS Woodbury to see if I could find another sweet kitty to add to our home. I found one and paid for her deposit and left to pick her up the following day. I spent over 200.00 at PetsMart to ready for her arrival. I went back the following day so excited to get her, only to find her cage empty. I asked where she was and was told she had been adopted! I pulled out my paperwork, only to have them tell me there must've been some mistake and that someone had not entered the previous hold on the computer! I left in tears! Flash forward a few months, I saw kittens posted on their website. I arrived before they opened only to be number five in line for four available kittens. I told them which kitten I was interested in and also explained what had happened a few weeks prior. There was another family meeting the kitten I had come for, so I walked around in the cat area waiting for my turn. A young worker walked in and basically yelled out that the kitten I wanted was "going home"! She did not say this to me directly, just opened the door to the room and yelled. Again, I was heartbroken. So unprofessional and rude! I made a decision at that moment that I was officially done with this organization. I have always financially supported them and have donated to them, but no more. I have a wonderful home to give a cat and decided to move on and adopt from a breeder.

The Rescue has a cadre of foster providers who assure as possible the dog is or isn't ready for certain situations. The care and compassion given to a perspective match is important for it lessens the likelihood of issues down the road for all involved. We have had a absolutely wonderful experience with our two dogs, Shannon and Dempsey. We strongly encourage rescues in general and Good Karma in particular. Digs are not property, and they are treated with gentleness and respect!!

We received an automated response and waited. And waited. After seven days I looked on their website and she was no longer there. My husband emailed them, stating our disappointment and they were very curt in their response. They stated that she was already adopted and did not say anything about helping us in our search for a dog. Gee, thanks for letting us know. You would think that a rescue organization's priority would be helping dogs find forever homes. There are many good rescue organizations in the area. This is not one of them. Good karma is obviously a misnomer.
