This year I decided to take my sons to Eureka and behold firsthand the beautiful and majestic trees and scenery. We weren't disappointed at all! This road trip will be forever in our hearts.

Immersive experience [Eureka CA] The Sky Walk is accessible only through the Sequoia Park Zoo so pay one admission fee and you can also visit the zoo at the same time which we also enjoyed seeing the animals. The Redwood Sky Walk experience is a series of nine platforms and bridges each offering unique views of the canopy of the redwoods from above. We began by ascending the launch deck. If you're afraid of heights, just don't look down while walking on the bridge LoL! because at the highest point, the Redwood Sky Walk reaches over 100-feet above the lush forest ground. Also, the bridges are prone to sway in minor winds and even as you walk through. The Sky Walk has 3-1/2 - 4 feet-high guardrails for safety. It didn't take us long to finish just under 1/4 mile to the end and back. No harnesses and helmets were required. The upper canopy of these trees reaches approximately 250 feet. The Sky Walk is a self-guided interpretive experience and we enjoyed it. We truly felt the incredible height of the suspended bridges from this experience. Review #3770

Sooo cool! This is inside the zoo, no extra charge. Walk amongst the canopy of the giant redwoods over bridges and pathways. Definitely check this out if you're in Eureka. BTW, If you have an ebt card you can get discounted tickets to the zoo!

This is the best family attraction in Eureka. Adults and kids will love this sky walk and zoo. The skywalk a very high up so if you are afraid of heights, beware. It is a very sturdy bridge. The zoo had bald eagles, peering zoo, and other interesting animals. We loved this little park/zoo in the Forrest. It's a must see if you are in the area.

We came here as a group of 10, 6 kids 12 and under and 4 adults. We had such a good time at this place. The sky bridge was a lot of fun to walk on. The kids really enjoyed being up high. We had a great experience with one of your workers, Finley, I believe her name was. You could tell that she really enjoyed answering any questions that the kids or adults had and that she was very knowledgeable and all around loved the animals. She definitely looked out for their safety. Animal lover for sure.

It's an amazing feat that they accomplished. It is a slow accent to the canopy making it doable for many people of differing fitness abilities and some of it is handicapped accessible which is even more awesome. Sometimes it can be more crowded than we are used to in Humboldt county but always worth the trip. The view is amazing and it's refreshing and peaceful.

This was a delightful little stop in Eureka, California, where my husband put aside his fear of heights, and went on the sky bridge, and he was a little scared on the longer suspended bridges, but he was a big boy, and he made it all the way across and said it wasn't as bad as he thought. The Bears are really active and it was a great view to watch them goofing around.

I had heard good things about the Redwood Sky Walk, so Jamie W. and I made a point of coming here as part of our weekender in Eureka. However, we were taken aback when we discovered that as non-residents, we were charged $24.95 each for admission. They make it a package deal with the Sequoia Park Zoo which they proclaim as one of the smallest accredited zoos in the country. Frankly we had little interest in patronizing the zoo, so we basicially spent fifty bucks for a quarter-mile canopy walk. Just about a year old, it was definitely well-constructed, and the foot traffic wasn't overwhelming. At a height of around 100 feet, the platforms and bridges appeared quite sturdy between the redwoods. There were even a couple of brief suspension bridges that recalled a junior-grade version of the Capilano Suspension Bridge in Vancouver. The entire walk scarcely took fifteen minutes. As a point of comparison, the Trees of Mystery up in Klamath has a similar redwood canopy walk and charges $20 for the entire park including a tramway. There's also an impressive new boardwalk among the Grove of Titans up in Jebediah Smith Redwoods State Park up in Crescent City, and it's free. Options to consider. RELATED - Lost on the Lost Coast? Yes. Great place to take kids. So beautiful place with amazing trees all around. Just so beautiful. A must visit place.

So pretty, so fun. The views are out of this world, the rope bridges are so fun. If i had to complain it would be because its kinda short but i highly recommend going.

Totally enjoyed the park with animals and redwood skywalk. Walkers and wheelchairs available so that made it easier for me to enjoy the place I would highly recommend the place for young and old alike

The forecast was partly cloudy in the mid 50's. The garden isn't very big but I enjoyed the variety of flowers that were in bloom which is generally between May and September. Our visit was during the Memorial Day weekend. Took some time taking lots of photos of the colorful blooms including a collection of gorgeous dahlias... wish they had labels for all the flowers for us who are botanically illiterate. Flowers are beautiful subjects for photography that's why I love botanical gardens. The garden also featured a wishing well and a gazebo for small gatherings and events and, also, a small sundial, unfortunately, there was no sun at that time to tell the time of day ツ Sadly, we weren't able to go across to the park. Careful when coming in because a car might be backing up or confused it is a one way! I highly appreciate that on the trail they consistently have signs to show you if you are allowed off trailing or not. It is helpful to see a map in case you are unsure how far you want to go in. Historic Military Fort [Eureka CA]…read more There's a lot to take in historically from Fort Humboldt. Although this site seems peaceful now, at one time it was the hub of a conflict between settlers and Native Americans. We walked through the grassy park area stopping to read interpretive signs along the way educating ourselves. The history of Fort Humboldt State Historic Park dates back to 1853. First, one of the most famous military personalities to serve here was Captain Ulysses S. Grant, the future U.S. President and commander of all Union forces during the Civil War. He was stationed here as Captain of Company F, 4th Infantry, in 1853-1854. His story is shared in historic signage and markers. No wait... FIRST! Fort Humboldt State Historic Park is haunted! The GhostTube app captured some anomalies when we used it. I posted a couple of videos. During its glory, the fort had 14 buildings: Officer's Quarters, barracks, a hospital, a blacksmith shop, a horse stable, and even a bakery. Wooden markers can be seen at the park indicating where they once stood. The reconstructed Surgeon's Quarters and original Fort Hospital remain standing till today and I wonder if they open the doors to visitors during park hours. One part of the park are collection of exhibits not related to the military history: railroad equipment and machinery used in the early days of 150 years of local logging history including a Donkey engine.
