Pork, with jalapeño cheese sausage with sides of Mac and Cheese, with baked beans. Also corn bread
    Gene G.

I've been. To a couple of the Redneck BBQ Labs. Always enjoy eating at them went to this one with the family. Got my usual - 1/4 lb pulled pork with a jalapeño cheese sausage link. Sides of the jalapeño Mac and cheese plus the baked beans. Wife got pulled pork with brisket. Sides of Mac and cheese plus collards. Good stuff was the pork and sausage. Not so good, was the brisket. It wasn't bad, but the brisket at the other locations was definitely better. This brisket seemed to have spent a little too much time in the oven. Would recommend looking at it before ordering at this location before you order. The collards were fresh and good (but not as good as her mama's, (but then what restaurant makes better collards than mom?) baked beans and Mac and cheese were good. You get a piece of corn bread with your meal, but since I don't care for corn bread no comment. Others were happy with it. There's an assortment of sauces available. I went with the vinegar based sauce as a base and added the different sauces in various spots of my pork and sausage. They also have a Texas BBQ that I tried and liked. My wife liked the Redneck bbq sauce well enough, that we pick up an occasional bottle at either Harris Teeter or Food Lion. As for ambience? The place is clean Would I come back? Yes. Have done so several times. Would I recommend to family and friends? Yes, with the caveat to look at the brisket before ordering. Would have given it a 5 except for the brisket

Step one should be the same for everyone. Get there when they open at 4:45 because damn does this place get busy quick even on weekdays. When I rolled into the parking lot at 4:40, I had probably 15-20 already at the door. Step two, if you get there at open, consider bar seating. Clam Chowder - Scalloped Scallops - Key Lime Pie I'll just keep it at this. Is anything I ordered going to reinvent the culinary wheel? No, and one could argue that the only negative here is that most everything is on the pricey side. But with that said, everything was extremely consistent, everything was brought out perfectly timed, my cup never runnethed (sure, it's a word) empty and the bar staff are all excellent conversationalists. Also one big upside, the ambiance. The bar area is kept dark as it should be in any bar type situation and the music selection was mostly a fantastic mix of classic R&B and Blues. Can't tell you the last time I enjoyed seafood while listening to John Lee Hooker (well, I can and it would be never which is why my mind was sort of blown). Groaney, groan, groan on some of the pricing but the overall situation here is worth the five stars. I get the hype and I get why it's always busy. Also, kudos to the owner who was up front and making sure to thank every single person that walked by/out the door. Very classy.

Settled on the fried pickles instead of buzz-buzz shrimp they were out of. They were good and the sauce was awesome. I had the mixed seafood grill which was excellent. Service was very friendly, etc. We will be back when we come visit our son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren.

I also got a fruity cheesecake sour. The wings were extremely good... yummy flavor, and you could taste the smokiness in every bite! The duck fat fries were fried nicely, but I didn't get any duck flavor. The sour paired nicely with the football watching-esque food! Our waitress was busy but made sure we were doing alright! This restaurant was busy, however we could still carry on conversations and hear each other from across the table. This is definitely a nice place for a casual date night or an evening out with your family. I ordered the crabcake sandwich. My boyfriend had the mahi-mahi and my son ordered the fish and chips. The portions were a very good size and we were grateful that we had not ordered starters. Never have I ever seen so much food on a fish and chips platter. My crabcake sandwich was very good. The sandwich was so flavorful due to the mixed greens tomato slices and remoulade sauce. My boyfriend really liked the mahi-mahi with the mango salsa, coconut, jasmine rice, and steamed vegetables. Has came with thinly sliced carrots and string beans. My son had the fish and chips.... Really fish and chips. On our table was the ever popular Blowing Rock Burger, a fresh tasting Mahi Mahi, a blackened mahi with mango salsa, sweet chili sauce coconut jasmine rice and vegetables, shrimp and grits, salad with steamed shrimp, but the show stopper had to be the Shrimp Mac & Cheese, a four-cheese cream sauce over cavatappi pasta with bacon & scallions & topped with fried shrimp. The breading was light and crisp and complemented the four cheeses so nicely.
