Place across the beach where you can get some cheap food. They have a lot of stuff to choose from, and even ice cream. We got the jalapeno cheese hot dogs and the cheesy fries. Cheesy fries were very limp. The nacho cheese basically is just something out of a jar, and the hot dog was a boiled and we weren't sure was completely cooked or not. We didn't get sick so I guess it was cooked. Would have been nice if they toasted the bun or at least grilled the hot dogs. Finally discovered this place after vacationing here yearly for a decade. I grew up in eastern Carolina and don't often get to enjoy burgers with chili and coleslaw in Ohio unless I luck into a joint that has them as add on sides. On more then a few occasions I've driven us out of the way to topsail to swing through Elizabethton to stop at Melvin's, but now I know better. Hot dogs are a popular beach food in Surf City and Hot Diggity Dogz is the place to go. The colorful hot dog stand is just across the street from the beach. They must have limited off season hours because the first time we stopped by they were closed. But last Friday, we were able to try several of their popular dogs. The menu is vast and they serve burgers and other food besides dogs. I had the famous Carolina dog that had chili sauce and Cole slaw. I'm not sure I'll ever get used to slaw on a dog, but it was good. My husband had the Beach Dog which was immense and messy. He loved it. The Beach dog was a delicious blend of chili, slaw, onions and mustard. Service was friendly and quick. We ate at the tables in front of the stand which were clean! This place does have a line most days, regardless of the season, however, they are quick with their orders and it is always made right then and there. What a cute little hot dog stand! Decided to head to surf city for the day and needed lunch. Yelp suggested this hot dog stand and what's better than hot dogs at the beach? Plenty of outdoor seating, right next to public beach access points which was great. They also take Apple Pay which was even better considering we forgot our wallets. We got three chili dogs, one with onions and loaded fries as well. They were standard sized hot dogs like you get from the grocery store, so I thought they were a little over priced which is the only reason I don't give five stars. I also hasn't realized that the loaded fries were almost $8 which is just a little steep in my opinion for concession-stand style fries.
