Came to Red Mile with a friend to watch simulcasting of Kentucky Oaks Day at Churchill Downs. There are no redeeming qualities to this facility, and we will never do so again. Awful! 51

Came in to cash out my Derby winnings! Nice folks. Clean and modern. Better half won $42 off a 50 cent slot. We took the money and ran!

Normally we don't hear a whole lot, but we could hear people's tv sound through their door or babies crying. The room was clean and spacious, so no major complaints, but not the nicest Hampton Inn we've ever stayed in. The breakfast bar (30 min before they close it down) was out of many things like waffle mix and syrup. I got what I wanted, but didn't think this was the best maintained breakfast bar. Would stay here again if I was done on the road.

The good: The bathroom in the room has been updated. However, it is obvious that the maintenance and cleaning of this facility is of no real concern to anyone. The bad: The room was GROSS - very dirty. It is very obvious that whoever is cleaning the room is doing the very minimum. I found peanuts scattered near the top of the headboard, mixed into the cobwebs. A dead bug about 2 feet from the peanuts. Possible peanut allergy? The chair had a big rip at the top. The entry way wall was covered in smudges and filth. The space under the tiny microwave was smudge with an unknown brown substance (please be chocolate!). The corners around the beds and edges of the room haven't been visited by a vacuum in months. There was a left over clothing tag cut from a new garment from a previous tenant left in the top of the "closet" - I put "closet" in quotes because it isn't really a closet but an area with a clothes rod and a curtain in front of it The hallways outside the rooms smell very bad. If you need to stay in this areas, let my misfortune be your salvation and skip this place, there's at least 4 other hotels on this road alone.

The rooms are small with the basics but we didn't have consistent A/C, reliable lighting, and no leg room to use the toilet. The floors are difficult to walk and navigate as they're uneven and posed several tripping hazards. It's quite a maze to navigate and the only central area for guests to spend time together outside of their rooms is out front which is nice except for the fact that the smokers also go out front so be prepared for secondhand inhalation. We read online that there was a pool, only to find out upon arriving that the pool has since been removed. That was a bit of a let down, but can't fault them for our misunderstanding. It is located in a convenient spot with access to many local places. I would definitely recommend trying "Pollo Azul" if you're looking for a place to eat while staying here. The venue staff that were bartending for the wedding were highly irritable and inconsiderate. One of the elder bartenders pushed over the beer stand and asked guests to help her clean up.

The walking tour is accessible to people of most abilities, with a bit of uneven ground in some spots. Cool, comfortable temperatures. (Maybe have a light sweater.) It's a ropes course, and the course is pretty small, and you're not really going into the cavern, which is a bummer. They do have a separate zipline tour, which is maybe more adventurous, but I wouldn't know because we didn't do that one. The ropes course is for ages 5 and older. Louisville Mega Cavern also offers a walking cavern tour and a tram tour, plus a drive-through Christmas lights display around the holidays. Be sure to book your activities in advance! This place is very popular and gets very busy. One thing to note is that outside food and drink are supposedly not allowed. (Oops, my bad. I didn't find that out until I had finished my tasty little tuna-and-crackers snack.) They also have lockers to put your things in if you don't have someone hanging back at the tables to hold your stuff.
