I've always meant to pop into this store and the prices did seem reasonable for the amount of details on the majority of the dresses. There were a few more daytime looks but the majority of the stock were for a BIG night...in a small dress...with feathers and sequins....which is totally not me. I found an amazing dress for New Year's Eve here! Yes, I already got my New Year's Eve dress- I don't like waiting until the last minute. Yes, the dresses here are a little fancier and more expensive than the average "run of the mill" dresses you might find at Dillard's, but they are better quality and for special occasions. I came in just thinking that I would look around and "window shop", but then I found an amazing dress for a pretty good price that I just had to have. I was specifically looking for something with a little sparkle and pizzazz and the woman working here was quick to find me something that worked for me and in my price range. Four years ago, I visited the store to purchase my prom dress. I had an excellent experience in terms of both the customer service and selection, and that experience is the only factor holding this rating at 2 stars instead of 1. Recently, I visited in search of a gown for a black tie event. I told the sales person that I was looking to spent about $250 on a longer dress and asked if she had any suggestions. She was extremely rude in pointing me to the sales rack telling me that that was the only place in the store where I could find a dress for less than $300 and moved on to the next customer. While the selection is fairly good, the cost and customer service are both very very poor and personally I will not be supporting this business again. Ladies--take your business elsewhere if you expect to be treated well. read more

Okay, so the prices are a little steep... as the shouuld be. These are high class designer dresses. Expect to drop at least $300 for a long gown, which is what I came in here looking for. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and asked if I needed any help. I thought I didn't need help, but I did and these young ladies were wonderful. When I couldn't zip up the dresses I was trying on, at least two girls came to attend me. They gave me their honest opinion, not just the same old, "That looks great on you." No, it was like, "I think this color looks better, and that style looks good and not the other one." Honesty in sales is valuable to me, which is what I do at my own shop. I'm glad I found a place where I can be treated how I treat my own customers. I'll be back! read more

I purchased my daughters senior prom dress from the Red carpet on Magazine street, and the ladies that worked there said they have the best seamstress that can hem the dress an put a beautiful bustle on the back of the dress. I have my own seamstress and theres cost Alot more then I wanted to spend , but its senior prom an if there own seamstress who does this everyday was good I was willing to pay the extra money, even after speniding $600.00 on the dress. They called me an said the dress is ready I picked it up and got home an let my daughter try it on , AND they did Nothing to it ,no bustle still the pins from were they pined it from her trying it on, and did not cut the dress just folded over and use a thick black tape to hem it, and the Lining under the dress hanging out under the dress past her shoes. I called them and they said oh we will fix it just bring it back, I did bring it back since I already paid and prom is in two days now. They called me to pick it up again and when my daughter tried it on the night before the prom ,and the hem was still sticking out the dress so long, that i had to just cut the lining of the dress my self, and we could not undo the bustle due to it was hooked with then little hooks that would break if we touched it to much. I called them the day of prom and let them know how i was not happy with the seamstress they have, and they Did Not care at all , never offered to give back any money ,or discount of next purches nothing ,they could care less, I felt like they do this all the time. I hope this does not happen to anyone else for there special night and spending lots of money to be treated like i went to walmart for a dress. read more

If I could give them a negative rating I would. There was no dress in store that was my daughter size so they had to order it. We decided to cancel the other the next day but they ask that we call back because the payment was pending. I have been trying to cancel and dispute this charge ever since. They have the dress and my money. This is outrageous and I am discussed beyond words. Don't walk into this store and expect to be respected unless you walk in ready to drop some money. They only give attention to those that come in and look like they will FOR SURE buy. I went in without a parent looking for a prom dress and not a single sales person came up and helped me. I had a dress in hand ready to try on and no one helped me. I had to walk up to a sales lady and ask to try on and she then only responded with yes and didn't help me into a fitting room. Just because I don't have my parent the first time doesn't mean I won't go back with them to buy the dress. I will never bring my service here because of this experience. I'm from out of town and went to this dress shop in hopes of viewing Mother of the Bride dresses. I was told they carry a certain brand.. Montage by Mon Cheri. All the dresses were in bags and not on display. I asked the sales associates where to look and they just kind of waved me to an area.... One sales associate did pull up a bag and showed me a dress and once I said i didn't like that one, she just pointed to that area and said " the rest are in this section" and went back to what she was doing when we came in. I was very disappointed in the look of this specialty shop and the extreme lack of customer service. They were not willing to spend any time with me and I have $$$$$$ and needed help and service. This shop was dirty, cluttered, and not worth being on Magazine Street....I wasn't even in the shop for barely 2 minutes and that was vibe I experienced. I was so disappointed!!!! read more

I will never shop anywhere else again. I returned my daughter's homecoming dress because although it was stunning it showed too much skin. We went the second time on a Sunday and the workers couldn't check to see if the dress she wanted was in stock because they didn't have her size in the store. So with us living far away, I asked them to call me and we would order over the phone. Well the dress was not in stock so the wonderful lady who was helping me told me to text her on her cell phone with some other choices. After doing that and not having any luck, I told her that we would try a different size or color if it was in stock anywhere. This lady called the OWNER to try and get the dress that my girl wanted. Now that is customer service!!! She is still trying to find that dress as I write this. Her name is Dawn!!!! Also, Red Carpet has the very best dresses! Don't waste your time going anywhere else. I LOVE this place. I'm a curvy girl and I was able to find a gown that fit my style and personality. If cost is a concern, I advise you to take advantage of their lay away plan. I was able to purchase my dress and have alterations all in one stop, with no hassle. This is not you average store. There is not a rack full of the same dress, so you should not have the horrid experience of having the same dress on as someone else. These ladies are welcoming and professional. I recently purchased a dress from The Red Carpet during the Mardi GRAS season this year. I was so impressed by this store's variety. The sales lady I had was Janell. She was truly awesome. She guided me to get an amazing dress! I was so impressed I brought my daughter there to look for her prom dress. Shopping for prom has always been challenging for us but Janell made the experience so easy and enjoyable! Janell really "rocked it" my daughter said when it came to her dress. Very unprofessional business. Purchased a dress from this boutique on 3/10 by helpful staff members. We were told to expect the dress after all beading was checked over by the seamstress and sent to dry cleaning. Was ok with that providing that we were visiting from out of town. 03/23/2015 called the store and no one could locate the dress. The staff was not apologetic AT ALL. It is Thursday and prom is Saturday. The customer service is awful here. I was then told that the dress would ship from the vendor, however the vendor called me the following day and stated that the dress would be shipped on today. The manager played dumb as though she knew nothing about the dress, her response "oh well, you're getting a brand new dress." Didn't know if they sold the dress to someone else. Two weeks passed with a couple of days before prom and no one cared to follow up. Terrible and stressful. Buyer beware! read more
