The scallops and shrimp where cooked well too. Chips where fresh and light. The Ceasar salad was not worth the 3.50$ dollars for the upgrade. They just tossed two strips of bacon with it. No croutons, red onion or even parmasean. Was also dissapointed that they didn't do a home made tartar sauce and also no lemon provided with the fish. At first I was excited to see the paper in the take out bag! Then realized they wrapped the take out box in paper. Hopefully they will cut back on the waste and just wrap the fish in that beautiful paper moving forward. Would really love to see this place stick to fish and chips and sea food options and perfect their sides. I was greeted promptly at the door and sat quickly. It was quite busy, it being a Saturday morning. The ambience inside was surprisingly of a rustic contemporary design. Nice booths on one side and more table and chair seating on the other side of the restaurant. My server "Kelly" was full of pep and energy and had a great personality. She suggested the breakfast special so I decided to take her suggestion. Breakfast started with a piping hot cup of delicious coffee that was bottomless I also had the O.J. Which can sometime be a hit or miss. It was definitely a hit. (Not the cheap stuff you'd expect). When breakfast arrived not only was everything exactly prepared how I ordered it, it was also presented on a beautiful deep rustic stoneware platter (not your standard cheap with plate). I indulged into the delicious breakfast platter and was instantly impressed by the locally sourced flavours of the eggs, bacon and even the bread for the toast. The home fries, well they are in a whole other level of delicious. I learned they were actually the owners secretly seasoned potato recipe that have been served for years here. If you happen to find yourself in Elmira around breakfast time or are looking for a quaint upper scale breakfast place with a great atmosphere and delicious food outside of the city wether your dining solo or with a group then I highly recommend the Sip & Bite for a pleasant dining experience.
