Stopped in for the first time for dinner before my son's hockey game and was pleased to find a delicious little spot in the small town of Drayton, a combination of sports bar/roadhouse with a bit of an Indian flare made for a great little dining experience! with great service, a cool atmosphere and some tasty food we will definitely be back! My bro n law has visited a few more times. Service : Only 1 person handling the dining room at the time of our visit. The lady server was friendly tho. The wait time for the food to arrive, was a bit longer than expected. Food : We ordered Nachos, Honey Garlic wings, Jerk Wings. My wifey order Fish n Chips her brother ordered a medium well cooked steak if I recall. Portion Size, Value for Money Spent : The order of Nachos was huge. Maybe 4 average ppl could manage to eat this or 2 super hungry eaters. The chicken wings were about a 1lb each I'd say. Bro n law said the steak was good. Wifey liked the Fish n Chips too. 3 of us couldn't finish the Nachos, so we had that as take away. Along with a few pieces of the chicken wings. Worth Repeat Visit : Yes worth a repeat visit if you are able to afford. My bro n law covered this meal experience. This resto is out of my personal wallet range. read more

The food is top-notch. A far cry from the previous ownership. A varied menu for a variety of tastes. Our server was friendly and made an excellent recommendation to try a mango mojito - delicious! Hubby had a Steam Whistle - first time he tried it and enjoyed its light taste. He had the beef wrap with onion rings. I had the fish and chips. Come visit the Chop House! It is worth the drive to Drayton. read more

A nice place for casual family dining with western themed decor, cow hide booth seating, open beams, pictures and knick-knacks. Locally sourced fare well prepared. I had a large bone in rib eye and my wife had the salmon, both were very good. The only thing that was not to my satisfaction was the side vegetable that evening , sautéed red peppers just didn't cut it. Surely the vegetable side could have been a bit better, maybe add some zucchini and onion or baby carrots. Something more than just red peppers would have been much more enjoyable and appreciated. All considered an enjoyable evening and meal. Would return when in the area. read more

Great Caesar salad but the kitchen forgot to make my burger. Then lost the ticket to make my burger. Finally they made it ... it was just ok. Lost 2 hours I'll never get back but the positive side is I got caught up on all my work emails. I had 1 beer and wasn't offered to refill it or a pop while I continued to wait. The bartender gave me the meal for free but only because I didn't accept only a free burger. I hope they read this and talk about how to handle these types of situations better to improve service. It's a great little unique spot but poor experience tonight. Manager never came by to apologize or anything. The team failed here during my visit, hope this doesn't happen often as I'm a fan of non chain restaurants. read more

OMG the food. I have ordered the bacon wrapped tenderloin and the blue cheese burger and I'm drooling thinking about either. Yup still drooling Good service, good Caesars too... But omg that food - makes me want to come back and try the whole menu. Only item of pickiness is the pasta menu doesn't leave much for people (like me) that don't eat seafood of any kind. Not that I mind not having a pasta option because omg steak, but it would be a nice option. read more

It's in a small town. It was the first and last time be here. Don't know why the rating is 4 and half star. Give my two stars to the service, they worked so hard and happy, but their food sucked and price totally doesn't match its quality. I am a traveling man, in US or Canada, the steak here was the worst food I'd ever paid for. I ordered a medium, but got a well done almost, I was rush to leave, so didn't argue about it, imaging that feeling. read more

My wife and I have started giving the chop House a chance again. Things have improved. The food has become consistent as well as the service has vastly improved. I wonder why they are so hesitant to open up the second floor when they are busy, we actually got turned away on a Friday night because we had no reservations. That was a little unexpected since the second floor was empty and a week earlier they sat us up there with no issue. Seems arbitrary. Realistically, if they're too busy to deal with people with no reservations then good for them. My only suggestion at this point is that it's time to do a menu change, it seems like it's been a long time since they've made changes in that regard. read more

Dont often see such friendly and attentive service. Interior is decorated fabulously. Meals are amazing large portions and food cooked perfectly. Have been here a few times and will continue to go. My only downfall I would say is sometimes the place is very crowded a little more space would do the place some good. Always busy great place for a sit down meal or a burger. More on the expensive side but you most certainly get what you pay for. read more

Took the husband here to check out my hometown (parents no longer live in Drayton) and grab a bite to eat. Food was delicious! The meat on the burgers tasted very fresh. One thing we didn't really like was the amount of flies in the place. They seemed to have an infestation at the time (this was last summer), because there were around 40-50 flies buzzing around the windows. A little gross.. hopefully that was a one-time problem that has been resolved. My memory of the flies is fighting with my memory of the burgers. Prices were fine. Then again, I've been in the big city for nearly a decade, so I've been brainwashed to expect to pay 15 bucks for a burger :) read more

We have not been impressed by the Chop House but were invited to go with two other couples. The meal was terrible, my husband and I split the schnitzel, it came so burnt that we could not eat it. One of the other gentlemen in our parties had the same and his was over cooked and tough. Another friend ordered the chicken wings which he said tasted ok but were stone cold. They say they pride themselves as a fine dining but I would dispute that. Too much money for bad food. I do not think we will ever go back, not worth the money. read more

My husband & I have frequented this restaurant a few times. We have taken family there & have for the most part raved about it. However, on my last visit, on taking my daughter & granddaughters there the experience was less than perfect. Initially, a bottle of wine was ordered & we had to ask a second time for that to be brought to our table. My daughter (who has fair hair) had a black hair on her food when the main dish was brought out. She approached the manager to ask her to send our waitress out to discuss her meal. The manager asked what the problem was. When she explained what had happened she was told there was no wait staff with black hair. (we could see the kitchen staff - men with black hair, some with beards clearly from our table) We know this can happen but it is how it is handled that leaves a lasting impression. She was told the waitress would come out & she could choose something from the menu (free of charge), She chose a steak, baked potato with vegetables. We four finished our meal & dessert before her meal arrived. When she asked about when her meal would be out as dessert was being brought to the table, the waitress said they were watching it closely in the cooking stage. Anyway, not wanting to eat alone she ate some of it when it finally arrived. We requested the bill & when it was presented the waitress asked about packaging her meal up. My daughter had put sour cream on the potato thinking she would enjoy it later. Our observation, with this procedure is that a take out container was brought to the table so you could put in what you wanted to take out. However, the waitress took her plate & then returned with a take out container containing only the meat. When our waitress asked if she had wanted the rest of the meal packaged up, my daughter said no it's alright. It was probably already in the garbage we thought. Why different treatment for our table? Anyway, they're off the radar for us for going there or taking company there. Their loss as I know my granddaughters & daughter commented when we were waiting to be seated "Oh, this is nice." Oops there goes the first impression spoiled by the service. Also the salad we shared consisted of 4 or five pieces of lettuce, couple pieces of bacon, two croutons & a slice of lemon on the side served on two small plates.
