Holy guacamole, this place is amazing! Room after room of beautiful pieces for your bedroom, kitchen, office, all. Pieces are displayed well they make you want them all... if you only had a truck that big. Prices are reasonable and there are some steals to be had. Everywhere you look there is shiny, and furry, and fluffy, and cooly. :) This place is packed to the brim with awesome and looks are deceiving because this place is much larger than the store front looks. Other reviews, including my first one, are mostly from the standpoint of buyer. My husband and I have now used Recycled Room from the standpoint of seller over the last year. I update this review to say our experiences with them in that role have been very good ones. SUCCESSFUL SALES Recycled room has sold every item we've consigned with them; from custom framed art work to Pottery Barn home accents to Buck's County purchased antique carts to high end brand custom upholstered furniture. As to the buyers who have reviewed this store to say price points are high, I chuckle in the context of realizing it is all perspective. As seller I'd say whomever bought the Mitchell Gold - Bob Williams Zondra knife edged pillow back and seat settee with the Kravet Couture upholstery on it that we had nearly $2,000 invested in at purchase six years ago and was nearly new for condition scored a great bargain at the under $300 sale price. Same for whomever bought the $250 lamp with shade for thirty bucks. Or the pair of custom upholstered, interior designer refurbished French country "one of a kind" arm chairs for about $150 each...that didn't even cover a fraction of the cost of the original fabrics alone. The list goes on. We are very happy the items sold. We hope buyers realize good values for the quality when they buy through Recycled Room. SUPPORTING A WELL RUN SMALL BUSINESS The fun of reselling items through Recycled Room is the people who run the store and work there are so nice to deal with. And we know our once loved but no longer a fit things are going to new homes with people who made the effort to shop (I hate shopping so it seems effort to me) and probably appreciate the 'find' (don't we all when it happens). Plus, we help support a small business that creates jobs for local people and is being well run and where pride of ownership shows. Here I'll admit we "cheated on" Recycled Room to consign a couple of designer furniture pieces at another store in the area when we were advised by local furniture store staff that this other resale store would deliver the highest sales price to us given their audience of buyers. Which may be true, our items did sell for a higher price than I imagine Recycled Room would have assigned to the furniture. But the other business was difficult to work with and their communication processes were poor. We are much happier sellers working with Recycled Room. Live and learn. This is our 'go to' place. THE DRILL If you want to consign here, the drill is provide photo(s) and description of your item and the owner will let you known if they can consign it and when they will have room in the store to do that. PICK - UP We got spoiled in our previous home that the local consignment place we worked with did free pick up. We haven't noticed any consignment places in the Boise area who offer that service. So if you're not delivering your own items, plan on adding the cost of transport to your cost of sale here, just like any other consignment place. The good news is the pick up guy they recommend has a reasonable rate (as example, $70 for a pair of upholstered arm chairs he picked up today) and he's typically available to pick up whenever it is you need him and a really nice guy to boot. I really enjoyed walking through and seeing the great stuff available! I'd also say that while some items were priced high, there were many that were reasonable. I like that they have a website and get post current items on their Facebook account as well as the fact they have a wide variety of styles to choose from. The employee was so very friendly and helpful, she made us feel right at home! I will say, I think they need more space as it was a wee bit tight and they didn't have all of the various items they sold on site, but I just loved the energy there! read more

Brand new to Boise and it was great finding this business! All of the furniture pieces I looked at were in really nice condition, and the employee that I worked with was helpful in pulling out the loveseat (that I eventually bought) from against the wall so I could look at its back. I would definitely return when I need furniture, but they also have pillows and other smaller decor items. They post a lot of their bigger pieces of furniture to their website, so it's great to be able to shop ahead from the comfort of home, then travel there to look at the piece of furniture. read more

Love these shops because they carry gently used, antique, retro, and handmade items...in other words, this isn't your generic furniture store furniture. This store is very clean and organized. I love how there are several themed areas and you can get lost wandering from room to room. I found several items I liked (and may go back to purchase) including a hand made table and chair set and matching coffee table created in the mid-century modern style. One display case had exquisite crystal items that would make the perfect wedding or birthday gift. I found the prices to be very reasonable. For example, a lovely wooden café table with two chairs was priced at $99. May have to find room for it. We will definitely be back. read more

I was on a consignment/second hand binge once we bought our new house. I had hit up several places in Garden City but always managed to miss this place! Their items seemed more up-to-date, not as name brand but awesome items. They are not as big as Ricochet and have less items but their items have larger impact. They carry Tropical Salvage items, which I was not able to find anywhere outside of Portland. Prices are comparable to other consignment stores and the staff are super friendly. It sounds like their inventory is always changing, which in my book, is great. read more

I bought a brand new dresser from them. I had to borrow manpower and a truck to get it to my house. Once unpacked in my upstairs bedroom, I saw that one of the drawers was completely broken and off the track. I immediately called the shop and they told me I had to bring it back to the store for repair. What?! I just bought a brand new dresser from you and you can't guarantee it and send a repair person out to fix. Long story, short- their furniture is not well made despite the prices they charge (my dresser was around $450) and their customer service stinks. Nope...won't be back... read more

Great little consignment shop. Items were great quality and had affordable prices. I liked the openness of the layout as it made it very easy to actually see what they had (opposed to places that are over filled). The selection was not limited at all and had a little bit of everything (shabby chic, modern, retro). I didn't get the chance, but they share premises with Urban Exchange which looks like it carries gently used but trendy clothing items. read more

Whether new or used, the furniture quality is good for a reasonable price. In addition, the staff is helpful without being pushy.

I followed the procedures to have my items consigned at this shop and spoke with the contact person. When speaking with the contact person she stated that she would take the items and arranged a time later that week to drop off the items. I arranged to have a pickup for the arranged day and took my items in to the Recycled Room. When I got there the contact person then turned me away and told me to go to another consignment shop because she was not able to take the items in despite agreeing previously. She then had the audacity to tell me to go to another consignment shop in the area on a Saturday. Not a professional attitude and behavior to send a potential customer to another shop and then recommend going on a Saturday. I will never go back to this store. read more

Found a great piece of furniture here via craigslist and was impressed with their selection when I went to the storefront to see the piece. Jill was friendly and even helped me set up a delivery service to deliver the furniture after I purchased it. I stopped in a couple weeks ago after a frustrating all day search in Boise for a vintage mahogany tall dresser. We were driving home when I spotted this shop as I was passing by. Took a quick detour and pulled in just as they were closing. I asked Vance if they might possibly have an old mahogany dresser and he said they had one in the back of the store. It was just what I'd been looking for. The finish was original and needed some freshening up but was in overall good condition and all the drawers worked fine. We made a deal and he helped my son and me load the dresser into the back of my vehicle and off we went. Now, the rest of the story - we were driving back home to Twin Falls and I stopped for gas about 40 miles outside of Boise and reached into my pocket for my wallet. Gone! I started having a vague feeling I'd left my wallet on another piece of furniture in the shop. I called their number but got the recording. At the very end, however, there was an emergency number given out. I called it and spoke to Jill, the other owner, and told her my fear of having left the wallet in the store. The short of it is that she contacted Vance who went back to the store and sure enough, there it was. They stayed in touch with me and asked what I wanted to do. I asked them if they'd overnight it and it went out the next day. As our towns are just 130 miles apart, the post office suggested just sending it first class with a tracking number. When you walk in there isn't that feeling that you are in your grandmother's house - instead the store is filled with beautiful items , beautifully staged. Ignore the Google review. That was then. This is now! Jill, the new owner is great. The selection is eclectic and affordable. As with all consignment furniture stores, one must visit often especially if looking for a particular item. There are surprises though.
